Sophie Sullivan stepped into the bedroom, the doctor and servant instinctively made way for her, pulling out the chair by the bedside for her.
"Miss Cecilia Branford, Your Highness is still asleep."
Sophie took a look at Lucifer, "Wake him up, isn’t he supposed to take his medicine later? Let him drink some porridge first, then take the medicine."
A few minutes later, Lucifer woke up.
Sick Lucifer appeared completely exhausted and weak.
Upon waking, his gaze was dazed as he looked at Sophie, murmuring, "Cecilia..."
"Lucifer, you’re ill. I learned from the Chief Chef to make this, it’s porridge I personally cooked for you. Would you like to try it?"
His sight fell on the bowl of clear, soft rice-scented porridge, Lucifer hooked the corner of his mouth into a smile, "Okay."
After a simple wash-up assisted by the servant, Lucifer lay back against the head of the bed, Sophie sat by the bedside, feeding him personally.
Lucifer knew her too well, from her eyes he could tell she was hiding something in her heart.
He raised his hand, placing it on Sophie’s head, rubbing it twice, "Dear, what’s wrong?"
"Lucifer, I’m flying to Country A tonight to handle some affairs."
Lucifer’s smile paused, going back to Country A?
"A friend of mine got into trouble, you know Fluffy Zane, she’s in quite serious trouble now, almost on the brink of collapse, I’m going to look after her."
Naturally, Lucifer didn’t believe it. Who knows if this was a story Thomas Shannon, that old fox, fabricated to trick her into returning to Country A?
"Lucifer, are you mad?" Sophie picked up a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth.
Lucifer smiled, "Go ahead, since she’s your friend, who has helped you, and now she’s in trouble, Cecilia certainly should go see her."
"Lucifer, aren’t you angry?" Sophie knew he didn’t like Thomas Shannon, and that he and Thomas were at odds.
When the two of them were together, there was an eight or nine chance of conflict occurring.
Knowing she would go to Country A, where it was inevitable she’d meet Thomas Shannon, wasn’t he angry?
"Will my anger change anything?"
Lucifer’s gentle tone carried a hint of self-mockery, Sophie freed a hand to cup his face, "Lucifer, you are different to me than any other person. If you’re unhappy, I won’t go. I’ll let Derek Clark handle it, okay?"
For over 20 years since childhood, Lucifer had always been by her side, never betraying, never harming her.
For Lucifer, it was no longer just friendship.
He had long ago become like her family, indispensable.
Lucifer looked at her for a while, then chuckled lightly, "Cecilia, why should I be angry?"
"Because..."
"Do I look like such a narrow-minded person?"
"Then you’re not angry?" Sophie asked uncertainly.
Lucifer nodded, extended his hand, pulling her body into his embrace, gently patting her back, "Cecilia, as long as you’re happy, that’s what matters. Anything, as long as you’re happy, that’s what counts."
Her joys and sorrows affected his own joys and sorrows.
As long as she was happy, he would be happy too.
"Are you still hungry, want to eat some more?"
Lucifer shook his head gradually, "No, talk with me a while."
......
The airplane landed at Imperial City International Airport in Country A.
Sophie, surrounded by Derek Clark and guards, quickly walked out of the airport.
The black Lincoln convoy was already waiting, standing by the car door was a man, handsome and noble, an innate aura of prestige surrounding him.
