Those cold eyes, icy and devoid of any warmth, only showed a trace of thawing when a graceful shadow appeared in his line of sight.
His sexy thin lips hooked up slightly, sketching out a soul‑stealing smile as he took long strides, quickly walking toward that stunningly breathtaking woman.
"Fennie."
The man stopped in his tracks when there were still a few meters between them, taking the initiative to open his arms.
He imagined Sophie Sullivan would, like other girlfriends in other couples, excitedly throw herself into her boyfriend’s embrace and give him a passionate deep kiss.
He waited, full of joy, for that soft, delicate body, yet what he got was only Sophie Sullivan’s impatient urge, "Aren’t we leaving? What are you spacing out here for?"
Thomas Shannon: "..."
He suffered 10,000 points of dislike and damage.
He stood there without moving, and Sophie Sullivan bypassed him to walk out. Her wrist suddenly tightened, and her whole body was yanked back by him and pressed into his embrace.
Thomas Shannon wrapped his arms around her, lowered his head, his handsome face gradually leaning closer to her as he dropped his voice, "Fennie, didn’t you see me?"
"I saw you." Sophie Sullivan’s expression was all "so what."
Thomas Shannon held her head, turning it to the side. His elegantly curved chin lifted slightly, signaling her to look: "Look at other people’s girlfriends, Fennie, then look at yourself."
No comparison, no hurt.
Other people’s girlfriends can do everything—act cute, offer kisses—while his at home can’t even be bothered to act cute, and as for offering kisses, that’s even more impossible.
It’s more likely he has to force a kiss on her.
"If other people’s girlfriends are so great, go find their girlfriends then. Why are you clinging to me? Move." Sophie Sullivan pushed at him in disgust.
Thomas Shannon immediately held her tight, locking her soft body firmly in his embrace. His thin lips trailed dense kisses over the delicate skin at her neck, his deep, magnetic voice soothing her, "Alright, I’m joking. Fennie, don’t be mad. How could I want someone else’s girlfriend? I only want Fennie. No other woman can catch my eye."
"Honeyed words, slick tongue."
Thomas Shannon let out a low laugh, cupping her cheek and giving her smooth cheek a light peck, "Come on, let’s return home."
Sophie Sullivan paused, raising her brows in surprise. "Return home what?"
Thomas Shannon’s handsome face darkened; she actually dared to ask him "return home what"?
Now that they were back in the Imperial City, shouldn’t she naturally return home with him?
Otherwise, where else did she think she was going to stay?!
"Of course, return to our home."
Seeing the sincere expression on Thomas Shannon’s face, Sophie Sullivan couldn’t help herself and laughed right in front of him. "Um... I think you might be a bit mistaken. I didn’t come this time to go home with you. Besides, Derek Clark has already booked a hotel for me. If you’re not leaving, then at least don’t block my way to the hotel."
Thomas Shannon laughed, the corner of his mouth curling into a wicked arc. "Tell me, which hotel are you staying at?"
He wanted to see which hotel dared to be this presumptuous!
On the way to the hotel, Thomas Shannon domineeringly pulled Sophie Sullivan onto his lap, making her sit on his legs and lean into his embrace.
Only when he felt her delicate body fill his arms did he feel satisfied.
One hand wrapped around her slender waist, the other caressing her smooth cheek, Thomas Shannon answered her questions in a casual, offhand way: "That incident wasn’t just a simple accident. It might have been a premeditated plan by someone."
"How’s Fluffy doing now?" This was what Sophie Sullivan was most worried about now.
