Chapter 243: Of Course, That's What Happened...

Vulely: “So, that Ancient Monster was…a land creature, right?” I asked with a hopeful tone.

Fiona: “Eh? Why do you think it was a land Monster?” She replied with a confused head tilt.

Vulely: “Well, if it was a sea creature, then I doubt that you’d make your healing base deep in the ocean.” I explained in reply with a sigh.

Fiona: “I mean, that is the logical thing to do. However, it was a water dwelling creature. As am I, so, even though it is foolish, I still decided to hide in the water. You can make fun of me for this, I’ll accept that.” She clarified with a somewhat embarrassed tone and expression.

Vulely: “…”

Listen, an older age doesn’t always mean that someone is wise. Yes, that means that there are Higher Beings that are millions of years old, yet are as knowledgeable and mature as a 20-year-old Mortal. You cannot do anything about that, it just boils down to that person’s priorities and personality, etc.

Now, in this case, I’m not actually implying that Fiona is stupid. Rather, she was, and still is scared, which led to her making a potentially very bad choice of healing location. Doing so alone was also silly, I know. But I can easily imagine Fiona lustfully going off to a Dimension travelling adventure, getting hurt, going back to her original Dimension, all just to find it empty, us missing, and then accepting loneliness in this random one.

Vulely: “I assume that you miss your wives, don’t you?” I asked with a curious tone.

Fiona: “Oh, I mean, I miss them as friends. I was too immature back then, and married them as a harem, not as individuals. As such, we split up, becoming and staying as friends.” She denied with a wistful tone.

Vulely: “That does explain why no one mentioned that you were missing. At the very least, none of your people nor them ever brought you up to Celia or other main members of our group.” I added with a tone of realization.

Fiona: “Oh? So, that’s why no one was present in that Dimension…I still feared that some unknown disaster or tragedy occurred in my absence. Tell me, where is everyone now?” She asked with a relieved expression.

Vulely: “All of our friends and family, those that were willing, moved in with us, now blissfully living life in our estate, in Home. There is, of course, a place for you there as well, Fiona.” I answered with a warm smile.

Fiona: “(~OAO)”

The Mermaid (she had already returned to her Human form, and we were just standing within the cave now) seemed to think that my reply was a joke. Though, as I continued to not indicate that it was one, the impact of my words soon hit her hard. Am I that untrustworthy looking or seeming? Why is her reaction… Ah, shit!

I had, uh…forgotten that Home was a prestigious place, not something that you can normally invite whomever you want into it, like we can. For a Mortal example, I basically and lazily just offered her a spot in Super Heaven, an absurd thing to casually give out. Oops?…
