Chapter 242: Wasting Her Efforts.
Sexy Mermaid Goddess aside, it is somewhat interesting to see Fiona once more. With her sizable harem, I didn’t expect her to ever leave that Dimension, or the woman ever being without her wives. I am a bit worried that…something horrid happened while we were away. We haven’t exactly visited that Dimension in a while, the one where Celia started her third life…
Although, now that I think about it, we did move all the important people to Home long ago, so it isn’t like we abandoned a bunch of people that we knew. From what I recall, Ria and Zia were responsible for dealing with that Dimension; as such, I’m not aware of why the Mermaid is stray. Hmm…considering how thoroughly those two work and live life, Fiona must have left her Dimension before they went to gather everyone up.
Vulely: “Fiona, I…” A splash of water was accidentally gifted to my face, so I got cut off.
Fiona: “H-how do you know my name? Are you actually here to kill me?… B-but…I don’t have any enemies that would want me dead!” She exclaimed with stuttery, pure horror-filled words; knowing full well that, if I was here to murder her, she’d have no means of preventing that from happening.
Vulely: “…”
Sometimes, I forget how cruel of a life the weaker Higher Beings often live. That is to say, if they ever cross someone stronger than they are. And, no enemies? I’ll be calling bullshit on that one! Fiona is unmistakably injured, the damage to her Soul obvious to almost anyone who bothered to look at it. Such wounds like these…wouldn’t be granted unless she upset a stronger God or Goddess.
Or, maybe she managed to off the one who hurt her? Either way, the System seems to have been bugged for a decent while, and in a way that we, of course, wouldn’t notice…like, ever. You see, Fiona is a Goddess, and, you’re supposed to only be able to travel Dimensions once you become a Highest God/Goddess. Since most were so weak in that Dimension, it isn’t surprising that Fiona managed to slip from Ria and Zia’s minds.
Vulely: “I know your name, as I’m one of Celia’s wives. Fiona, how come you’re here, hurt, and hiding away?” I clarified and then asked what I was curious about.
Fiona: “Ah! Then…the seduction was meaningless?” She replied with a sigh.
Vulely: “It was, yes; your secret Magic didn’t affect me, either.” I admitted with a proud nod.
Fiona: “Damn.” She expressed with a deadpan tone.
Vulely: “Also, why did you change into a Mermaid form? A Humanoid one would have worked far better for 99% of people.” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
Fiona: “Oh, because I only know of seduction as a Mermaid. If I tried to do that with my normal form…I’d fail, as if I was a silly virgin.” She explained with a red face.
Vulely: “And my other question?” I added with a head tilt.
Fiona: “I pissed off an Ancient Monster, fled that Dimension, and have been resting for a few years since then. They haven’t come after me, and won’t. Unfortunately, my injuries still require a lot of time for them to heal…” She answered with a groan, seeming to regret whatever action that led an Ancient Monster to leave her so injured.
Vulely: “(- _ -)”
