Chapter 219: How They Planned On Fixing This.
Once more, Guanyu is denying Celia her own agency; though it isn’t that bad. My wife would likely feel very guilty for not noticing this issue until it was too late, but I do highly doubt that Celia commit suicide from learning of the deaths after the fact.
The only times when Celia genuinely considered ending her own life…was when the woman was alone. She has us now, so suicide isn’t the first option on her list to choose from. Rather, I’m still of the mind that these two are being overdramatic. Even in the worst case scenario, Celia can merely go back in time, and then solve the problem before anyone dies.
Vulely: “Saying that, what is the actual reason for the kidnappings? I mean, I know of the starvation thing now; but neither of you have informed me of why so many of us were restrained.” I asked after lecturing Guanyu and Runeth.
Runeth: “It’s required to save everyone, and, in part, save Celia as well.” Was her (due to Celia’s DNA) vague answer.
Vulely: “Alright; give me a better answer, or I’ll skip this entire arc, going straight to the wedding.” I threatened with a motherly, calm smile and tone.
Runeth: “…”
Seriously, this is almost beach episode tier levels of filler content! Of course, the one beach part of the narration was good, even introducing a new daughter. Unfortunately, I’m pretty confident that nothing grand like that will occur from this interesting tangent away from the wedding.
Don’t get me wrong, there are far more decent beach scenes in various media forms; the bad ones just always stand out the most. It doesn’t help that Guanyu is so evil, merely going along with Runeth’s plan, barely giving any input. Rather, I think her only addition to it are the chains, which the Cultivation did just to help with her future, bedly activities with Celia.
Guanyu: “Simply put: We plan on taking a certain percentage of Divinity and Mana from you, us, and the others, to offset the lack of those resources. The amount per person will very, but there is surely enough to solve the issue completely, and forever.” She finally explained what I’ve been waiting to hear.
Vulely: “Eh? Hm…that might work, I guess. It isn’t like we’re using even 15% of our power these days, so the loss won’t be really noticeable.” I mused with a thinking pose.
Runeth: “Yeah, I did think about this a lot. Now do you understand why this was all necessary? Come on, please say so… The others don’t look to be agreeing, though they do highly value your opinion, Mom.” She replied with a prideful tone, before switching to a pleading one for the last bit.
Vulely: “No.” I instantly denied.
Runeth: “(~OAO)”
Vulely: “You got tricked by a scheming Cultivator, who was interested in experiencing a taste of her glory days. Instead, asking us about this sacrifice would have worked, and…” I stopped my words there. Why? Because…
Celia: “…”
