Chapter 1713: Trevor’s Surprise for Her

4 min read

After getting out of the car, Trevor held her hand, interlocking their fingers as he habitually did, and led her onto the river embankment. The snow on the early spring embankment had melted, but the plum blossoms were still in full bloom.

"Do you want to find your parents?" Trevor turned his gaze toward her as they walked, his voice low, "If you want to look for them, I can help you. I’ll support you."

This was a decision he made on the road after leaving the hospital earlier.

Janelle Mills shook her head, "I don’t want to, and I won’t go looking for them. Since we’ve already separated, it means there’s no fate." She turned her gaze toward him and asked, "Even if I find them, what difference will it make?"

Trevor saw a sweet and gentle smile appear on her lips, as if she had suddenly let go and become more open-minded.

As they walked, they turned their gazes toward each other, and the smile on the girl’s lips deepened.

After a while, Trevor stopped her, standing in front of her. He held her shoulders with tenderness and emotion in his eyes, "Janelle, thinking this way, I think your parents would be especially happy. You must truly let it go, little by little, day by day, never let yourself suffer. If you’re unhappy, tell me."

He knew that letting go would take time, and couldn’t be accomplished with a few words.

"Okay, I promise you," Janelle’s voice was low, and her smile at the corners of her lips was gentle and beautiful, "Are you busy? Going to the company?"

Trevor shook his head, "No, Simon has already cleared my schedule for today. I’ll be staying with you."

"Then why don’t you take me home? I’m a bit tired," Janelle said to him, "I want to take a nap."

He nodded, "Alright." Then he put his arm around her shoulder and walked toward the nearby car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Janelle turned her gaze to the window. Only when she regained her senses did she realize the car was parked in front of his villa.

It wasn’t her father’s little house at all.

"..." Janelle was a bit surprised.

Trevor calmly unfastened his seatbelt, "Stay at my place tonight, that way I can feel at ease."

She watched him get out of the car, watched him round the car and open the passenger door for her, gentlemanly and polite, with his gaze warm.

Janelle didn’t hesitate for too long, she’s stayed here before; there’s no need to be coy.

So, she unfastened her seatbelt and got out of the car, walked with him toward the living room, and whenever she was with him, she always felt a sense of security.

After entering the fingerprint password, the door opened.

Trevor said to her, "Wait a moment." Then he stood in the doorway, holding the doorknob, operating it, and entered the fingerprint lock management mode.

Picking up her finger, he added her fingerprint.

"You..." Janelle was once again surprised, feeling a bit nervous as they weren’t married yet.

Trevor picked up her other hand, looked up at her, his eyes filled with tenderness, "You are the lady of this house. Adding your fingerprint password is only a matter of time; the sooner, the better, so that whenever you want to come over, you can, without needing to notify me."

After entering the password, he led her upstairs.

Before sending her to rest in the bedroom, Trevor said mysteriously to her, "Janelle, let me take you somewhere first."

"Where?" The girl, gently holding his hand, followed passively behind him.

Very soon, they rounded a corner, and a bright dressing room came into view, with the open cabinets filled with lighting strips, hanging all sorts of little dresses.

Each and every one shimmered under the light.

"You..." The girl turned her gaze in shock, "You bought all these for me?"

"What else?" Trevor said to her, "I didn’t know what style you liked, so I bought them all. Out of so many, there must be some you like, right?"

"This is such a waste..." Janelle turned and playfully punched his chest, "You should be saving up for the wedding! This is just reckless spending! I can bring my own clothes!"
