Chapter 1210: Aggrieved

3 min read

"Recite it." Charles Seymour didn’t explain, he just made the request.

Sophie Wilson had no objections and took it, glanced over it a few times, and then handed it back to Charles Seymour.

Charles Seymour handed it to Julian Campbell and said, "Watch this."

Julian took it and listened as Sophie Wilson recited it flawlessly, without missing a word.

Charles Seymour looked at Julian Campbell.

Julian: "..."

Was he just too slow, or were his uncle and aunt not human?

This is just bullying, he thought, ready to cry...

"You’re not expecting Julian to follow my speed, are you?" Sophie glared at Charles Seymour, then turned to comfort Julian, "Don’t mind him, our memory speed is trained. Normal people can develop photographic memory through systematic training, but you haven’t been trained yet, so take your time." Sophie’s words finally made the deeply affected Julian feel a little better.

"Auntie, I thought I was really dumb." Julian complained sadly.

"Nonsense," Sophie hastily comforted him, "You’re pretty impressive; it’s just that your uncle’s standards are too high. It’s fine, he hasn’t taught anyone before, he lacks experience, I’ll talk to him."

Julian was happy, nodding repeatedly, "Auntie is still the best."

Just as he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a chill as if a cold blade was pressed against his skin. That faint pain made him look up instinctively, only to meet his uncle’s meaningful gaze.

Julian shuddered and awkwardly swallowed, saying hurriedly, "Auntie, I’ll go back to my room to study now."

Having said that, he ran off, not forgetting to take the cookies his aunt baked with him.

"What are you doing?" Sophie turned and glared at Charles Seymour, "Can’t you teach Julian more gently?"

She developed this memory ability by being forced in an unlawful company, where failing to remember meant death. Could she afford to forget?

All her potential was unleashed, completely different from Julian’s situation, right?

"You’re going to scold me for another man!" Charles Seymour stared at Sophie, his eyes, initially cold, filled with deep grievance.

"I..." Facing those eyes, like those of an abandoned puppy, Sophie found herself unable to continue.

Sophie stayed silent, and Charles Seymour even more so, quietly staring at her with his bright eyes, silently expressing his "grievance."

Sophie scratched her head, then scratched it again, grabbed her hair, and directly dove in, hugging the seated Charles Seymour, rubbing his hair with her hands, soothing him, "Alright, alright, I’m most worried about you, how could I scold you for another man?"

"I didn’t pay attention to my words earlier, that was my mistake."

"You weren’t paying attention?" Charles Seymour’s muffled voice came from Sophie’s chest, and Sophie’s eyes narrowed as she pushed his head away, "You..." Don’t push it too far.

So, was that pathetic display earlier all for this?

Sophie was frustrated, her Mr. Seymour truly was getting more shameless.

How can she let him get away with this so easily?
