"Yes, I used to always play with my grandparents, so now that I’m back in the country, I came to visit them," Chloe White was quietly letting Sophie Wilson know that her relationship with Old Mr. and Mrs. Seymour was also quite good.
"Oh, I see," Sophie Wilson nodded with a smile and said, "I didn’t know Miss White was so close with my grandparents, Mr. Seymour never mentioned it to me."
"Come, Miss White, have a seat, don’t just stand there," Sophie Wilson invited Chloe White with a smile.
She extended the invitation with such enthusiasm, yet this warmth made Chloe White feel stifled inside.
What does Sophie Wilson mean by acting like the hostess?
"No, I have some matters to attend to, I’ll head back first," Chloe White didn’t want to spar with Sophie Wilson here, so she smiled and made an excuse to take her leave of Old Mr. and Mrs. Seymour.
After Chloe White left, Old Mrs. Seymour asked, "Sophie, this Chloe White..."
"She likes Charles!" Sophie Wilson said bluntly, "I’ll outshine her!"
Old Mrs. Seymour was momentarily stunned, then couldn’t help but laugh, patting Sophie Wilson’s hand and saying, "You child, you’re truly straightforward and adorable."
"Grandma, do you think so too?" Sophie Wilson batted her eyes at Old Mrs. Seymour, then broke into the brightest smile, "Mr. Seymour thinks so too."
Old Mr. Seymour laughed heartily beside them, finding Sophie more endearing by the day.
"Oh, by the way, Grandpa, I brought some supplements for you," Sophie Wilson said with a smile. She had collected them through previous connections, and they were all good stuff.
"There’s no need for extravagance," Old Mrs. Seymour patted Sophie Wilson’s arm, "Don’t treat Grandma as an outsider now."
"Of course not," Sophie Wilson laughed and hugged Old Mrs. Seymour’s arm playfully, "I just hope that you’ll both stay strong and healthy, so if Mr. Seymour bullies me, I’ll have my grandparents to back me up!"
Old Mr. and Mrs. Seymour couldn’t stop laughing.
Charles, bully Sophie?
He’s been pampering her endlessly.
However, they naturally accepted Sophie’s kind gesture.
As they chatted and laughed, time flew by, and as it was nearly time for dinner, Old Mrs. Seymour said, "I called Charles earlier, he’ll be coming over, and you can head back after eating."
"Great!" Sophie Wilson nodded eagerly in agreement.
Just as they were speaking, the doorbell rang. Old Mr. Seymour chuckled and said, "Look at that rascal, knowing you’re here, he’s still worried."
This wasn’t exactly quitting time.
Old Mrs. Seymour playfully scolded, "What nonsense are you saying? Isn’t it right for him to worry about his wife?"
"Yes, yes... look at my big mouth..."
Sophie Wilson watched as Old Mr. and Mrs. Seymour bickered affectionately, but she had no expectations for the arrival at the door.
Charles wouldn’t be coming at this time, so this person... if she guessed correctly...
"Mom, Dad." Ethan Seymour walked in, greeting them.
Sophie Wilson let out a silent laugh, of course.
She sighed inwardly, what kind of luck was today? First running into Chloe White, and now Ethan Seymour, how annoying.
However, these two weren’t enough to ruin her good mood.
