Chapter 1186: Confused

4 min read

"And besides, the whole thing with the kid was because of my father-in-law." Emerie Wilson let out a light sigh and said understandingly, "If it hadn’t been for his old-fashioned ideas, Benjamin wouldn’t have had a child at all."

"You..."

Old Mrs. Wilson still wanted to say something, but Old Mrs. Wilson snatched the phone away: "If you get back together and remarry Benjamin Walton, then from now on the Wilson Clan will have nothing to do with you whatsoever!"

He really couldn’t listen to it anymore.

"No ties then, so be it. You all already abandoned me just to climb up to Sophie Wilson." Emerie Wilson finished, then slammed the phone down with a snap, leaving Old Mrs. Wilson so furious he was panting heavily.

"Has her brain gone bad like her heart too?" Old Mrs. Wilson hurled the phone onto the table.

Old Mrs. Wilson jumped in fright, but still didn’t forget to explain for Emerie Wilson: "I guess it’s because at dinner just now, Emerie was left out in the cold, so Benjamin Walton took advantage of the opening."

"Foolish!" Old Mrs. Wilson cursed. If Emerie Wilson were in front of him right now, he felt like he could slap her to death with one blow.

On the other side, Benjamin Walton was patiently coaxing Emerie Wilson, making her feel a long-lost sense of being cherished.

As for Emerie Wilson going back to the Walton Family, she only found out about it the next day, from Old Mrs. Wilson.

She really hadn’t expected Old Mrs. Wilson to call her. After listening, she started laughing and asked, "Old Mr. Wilson, what do you mean by calling me?"

"Sophie Wilson, I’ve tried to talk to her, I’ve said all I can. This really wasn’t our intention this time, and we never meant to use family ties to threaten you." Old Mrs. Wilson had more or less figured out how Sophie Wilson operated.

This girl was sharp; nothing could be hidden from her. Playing little tricks in front of her only made her dislike them more; it was completely pointless.

"Mm, I believe you’re a smart man, Old Mr. Wilson." Sophie Wilson said with a smile. "Alright, I got it."

After hanging up, Sophie Wilson stretched lazily in boredom. After thinking for a bit, she packed up her things, got in the car, and drove to the Seymour Family’s old house.

"Sophie’s here."

Sophie Wilson had just parked the car when she saw Old Mrs. Seymour standing at the door. She hurriedly stuffed what she was carrying into the hands of the housemaid next to her and quickly walked over. "Grandma, what are you doing outside?"

"Nothing, I just heard them say you were here, so I came out." Old Mrs. Seymour was all affection when she saw Sophie Wilson.

Sophie had said she’d come by a couple of days ago, and Old Mrs. Seymour had been looking forward to this day.

The better Sophie’s relationship with Charles got, the happier she was.

"Come on, let’s go in, it’s hot out." Sophie Wilson supported Old Mrs. Seymour as they walked in. As soon as they entered, she greeted Old Mr. Seymour, who was grinning from ear to ear inside, "Grandpa."

"Eh." Old Mr. Seymour nodded happily and waved at Sophie Wilson. "Come, come sit. I had them make you some freshly squeezed juice."

"Grandpa, you’re so good to me." Sophie Wilson said with a smile as she walked over.

Old Mrs. Seymour said with a smile, "I made some snacks for you, have some."

"Oh wow, Grandma, you know me too well, these are all my favorites." Sophie Wilson happily wrapped an arm around Old Mrs. Seymour and planted a loud kiss on her cheek, making Old Mrs. Seymour so delighted she couldn’t stop smiling.

"Miss Wilson." Chloe White, who had been standing off to the side a bit awkwardly, finally spoke up and greeted Sophie Wilson.

"Miss White, what a coincidence." Only then did Sophie Wilson turn her gaze to Chloe White, nodding with a faint smile as she spoke.
