Third Person’s POVThe first was that he had successfully muddled the waters even further regarding his own identity and talents.
Ethan knew that the observant Shixea had been secretly analyzing every action he had taken ever since he awakened.
Whether it was his physical prowess, his frightening affinity with the ice element, or the mysterious soul ability he had displayed previously, she was undoubtedly trying to piece together the truth surrounding him little by little.
Therefore, by casually choosing a pair of wind-element daggers alongside his ice element broadsword and the purple scythe of darkness, he had only succeeded in making her even more confused than before.
Ethan had never intended to reveal anything meaningful about himself to anyone present within this room.
If possible, he would much rather let them arrive at ten different conclusions than the correct one.
As for his second objective, it had unconsciously taken his thoughts elsewhere.
To a person whom he had longed to meet for many years.
Aurelia.
Looking at the pair of emerald-green daggers resting within his hands, he remembered another pair gifted to him during his awakening ceremony all those years ago by her grandfather.
Although many years had already passed since then, he still remembered that day clearly.
An almost imperceptible smile appeared upon his lips, as he had a strange feeling deep within his heart that he would meet her again soon.
And when that day finally came, he would gift her a pair of daggers worthy of standing beside those that had once been gifted to him.
Without saying another word, Ethan silently stored the Rank Three wind-element daggers inside his spatial ring.
Soon afterward, his crimson eyes shifted towards Master Drogo.
Using a sound transmission technique, his voice quietly echoed within the old man’s mind.
’Wait for me outside the New Moon Magic Academy tomorrow morning.
I have a task for you. If you complete it satisfactorily, you shall receive another precious reward.
What that reward is shall remain a secret for now, but now you know that it would not disappoint you at all.’
Master Drogo was momentarily stunned.
However, he was an experienced old monster who had lived for several centuries.
Despite the astonishment filling his heart, not the slightest change appeared upon his aged face.
He immediately understood that Ethan intended to keep their conversation a secret.
Naturally, he had no intentions of exposing it, as he had no intentions to reveal his reward to anyone else.
As for Ethan, he wasn’t worried in the slightest that someone present might have secretly intercepted their conversation.
The sound transmission technique he had just employed was personally taught to him by his Master Nyx.
Furthermore, when combined with the extraordinarily powerful soul he possessed, it wasn’t something that ordinary experts could casually spy upon.
Even if Shixea herself was secretly a hidden powerhouse far stronger than she currently appeared, it would still be impossible for her to overhear their conversation.
Only Rank Five Heaven Connection Realm existences whose souls had undergone true transcendence possessed the qualifications necessary to forcibly intercept such a sound transmission.
Having completed his business, Master Drogo immediately stood up before hurriedly leaving the study carrying his almost empty wooden weapon case.
Only the fiery-red saber and the slender lightning rapier remained within it.
Yet despite suffering such heavy losses today, the old artifact refiner wore a smile brighter than ever upon his wrinkled face.
Looking at the three Bone Demon thorns resting inside his spatial ring, he felt that he had profited immensely.
Meanwhile, Aria remained seated silently with the lake-blue spear resting across her lap.
Her expression still carried traces of embarrassment and disbelief.
As for Erius, when he saw Aria’s expression, his complexion had already darkened to an alarming degree.
Nevertheless, recalling the warning glance his mother had given him moments ago, he forcefully suppressed the fury surging within his heart and remained silent.
After Master Drogo finally left the study, silence once again descended upon the room.
Now that there were only five people remaining inside the study, the atmosphere became considerably quieter than before.
The commotion caused by Master Drogo’s departure had finally subsided, leaving behind only Ethan, Shixea, Elis, Erius, and Aria.
Shixea gracefully crossed her legs before turning towards Ethan with an amused smile lingering upon her beautiful face.
"How was your first day at the academy, Young Master?"
Ethan, who had been absentmindedly twirling one of the twin green daggers around his fingers ever since Master Drogo’s departure, finally glanced towards her before replying indifferently,
"It was filled with unexpected surprises."
A faint smile appeared on his face as he continued,
"I hadn’t expected to meet my target firsthand on the very first morning."
"Oh?"
Genuine surprise appeared upon Shixea’s face as her beautiful pale-blue eyes widened slightly.
"Is that what happened?"
She had truly not expected Dominic to personally meet Ethan on his very first day within the academy.
Seeing her reaction, Ethan merely scoffed inwardly.
What a wonderful actress.
He had long since stopped believing everything that came out of this woman’s mouth.
Whether her surprise was genuine or merely another carefully prepared performance mattered very little to him.
"Apparently, he also revealed to me that you were the one who secured my position within the Crystal Formation Batch."
Ethan casually revealed that piece of information aloud without the slightest hesitation.
Before entering the academy, this woman had subtly indicated that his existence and their connection would remain hidden from that old man Dominic.
According to the picture she had painted before him, he would quietly enter the academy, gradually attract the Headmaster’s attention through his talent and achievements, and slowly gain both his trust and favor over time.
Yet what had actually happened completely overturned the notions she had deliberately planted in his mind beforehand.
Dominic not only knew about his existence, but had even personally summoned him to his tower on the very first day of his enrollment.
Ethan knew that Shixea had done all of this intentionally.
She had merely chosen not to tell him.
