Chapter 828: The Twin Emerald Daggers

Third Person’s POVThen, to everyone’s surprise, he reached into his spatial ring once again, and another grey bone thorn appeared in his hand.

Without even looking at it twice, he tossed both thorns toward Master Drogo.

"Here, you can keep these."

Master Drogo’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

His body reacted faster than his mind.

He practically lunged forward, hurriedly catching both bone thorns with trembling hands as though afraid they might suddenly disappear.

His breathing became even more erratic, as those weren’t merely Rank Four materials.

They were materials originating from a mid-stage Sky Realm Bone Demon.

Even one such thorn was enough to make countless artifact refiners jealous.

Yet Ethan had casually handed him two.

At that moment, Master Drogo no longer cared about Ethan’s personality.

To him, Ethan had instantly become the most generous young man he had met in decades.

Nearby, Aria quietly watched everything unfold.

The hatred and disdain that had filled her beautiful blue eyes had vanished long ago.

Instead, they had become increasingly complicated.

She finally understood that her initial instincts inside the academy hadn’t been wrong.

If anything, she had underestimated him.

This mysterious young man was far more unfathomable than she had first imagined.

That realization made her lower her head slightly.

A few moments earlier, she had looked at him with open contempt.

Now, she couldn’t even bring herself to ask for the lake-blue spear she had admired since entering the room, as it was Ethan’s property now.

She did not wish to seek Shixea’s help, as her pride simply wouldn’t allow it.

Silence filled the study, but then something suddenly entered her field of vision.

It was a long lake-blue spear that she suddenly found resting gently across her lap.

Aria’s beautiful blue eyes widened, and she raised her head slowly.

Standing before her was Ethan, who was casually holding out the elegant spear with one hand while wearing the same relaxed smile as before.

"I noticed you kept looking at this one."

"Take it."

For several seconds, Aria could only stare blankly at him.

Her mind had become completely empty.

She had prepared herself to leave disappointed.

She had even believed Ethan would mock her if she asked for it.

Instead, the very person she had secretly judged and openly glared at only moments ago was now handing her the weapon she desired without asking for anything in return.

Aria remained silent, as she simply didn’t know what she was supposed to say anymore.

Her beautiful blue eyes quietly lowered towards the lake-blue spear resting across her lap as she subconsciously tightened her grip around it.

Even a simple "thank you" seemed insufficient.

The emotions within her heart were incomparably complicated.

Across the room, Master Drogo’s eyelids twitched repeatedly.

Watching Ethan casually distribute the masterpieces he had painstakingly forged over decades felt as though someone were freely handing out treasures from his personal vault.

His heart ached with every passing second, yet after getting those two Bone Demon thorns, he didn’t dare utter a single word of protest.

Instead, he silently hugged the precious materials in his arms, convincing himself that perhaps he had earned the better end of the bargain after all.

Master Drogo silently placed the two precious Bone Demon thorns into his spatial ring without even sparing anyone another glance.

He didn’t acknowledge Shixea’s existence in the slightest as the transaction concluded, causing the Queen’s beautiful eyes to twitch almost imperceptibly.

This shameless old man had thrown a tremendous tantrum inside her study not even ten minutes ago.

Yet now, he was openly ignoring her existence while shamelessly bending his waist towards the very person he had abused moments earlier, fearing that she might somehow decide to ask him for one of the precious bone demon thorns Ethan had given him.

The sudden change in attitude was so shameless that even Elis struggled to maintain her composed expression.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t know that Shixea possessed absolutely no greed for such comparatively minor treasures.

If anything, she simply found his behavior somewhat idiotic and amusing, as if he was a destitute beggar getting money for the first time.

Master Drogo immediately began closing the long wooden weapon case before him.

His movements appeared calm and dignified on the surface, but everyone present could clearly sense the hidden urgency concealed within them.

He was genuinely afraid that if he remained inside this study for even a few more minutes, he might lose half of his treasured collection before he managed to leave.

However, fate clearly wasn’t willing to let him escape so easily.

Just as he was about to close the weapon case completely, Ethan suddenly leaned slightly forward.

Master Drogo’s heart immediately skipped a beat with fear, though Ethan casually picked up the pair of emerald green daggers resting quietly inside the wooden case.

"..."

Silence descended upon the room once more.

The old artifact refiner suddenly felt his blood pressure rising once again.

Before he could even open his mouth to protest, however, another grey Bone Demon thorn suddenly flew towards him.

His aged body moved with astonishing speed as both of his hands immediately stretched out to catch the precious treasure.

The sudden change of his expression from dismay to shock and delight on his face couldn’t be concealed in the slightest.

Meanwhile, the pair of daggers Ethan had chosen were exquisite in both appearance and craftsmanship, especially its leaf thin blades that were extremely sharp and deadly.

Delicate emerald-green wind and cloud patterns spiraled elegantly across their polished blades, while faint fluctuations of wind elemental mana continuously flowed around them.

Merely holding them caused one to feel a cool breeze brushing gently against their skin.

Ethan quietly examined the two daggers for several moments, his expression remaining as indifferent as ever.

To everyone else, it appeared as though he had simply taken a liking to their appearance.

However, his decision to choose them had actually fulfilled two separate objectives of his.
