Chapter 1989: Feeding Rules (30)

7 min read

After staying at home for more than ten days, Shang Qi needed to continue working and couldn’t stay at home.

Chuzheng was eager for him to leave quickly; seeing him at home every day made things inconvenient.

Shang Qi: "..."

How does the saying go?

Only when it’s time to eat will the cat master pay attention to you.

But now, even though he has food, the little one doesn’t necessarily pay attention to him.

Sigh.

Being a poop-scooper is really hard.

After Shang Qi left, Chuzheng urged Du Pei to act quickly and strive to bankrupt the Shang family early.

The Shang family was big and wealthy; it wasn’t that easy to suddenly go bankrupt.

The Shang family’s financial chain had issues, and to fix this, Shang Yucheng sold many things.

Although he made every effort to remedy it, unfortunately, he still couldn’t save the company from its predicament.

That day, Chuzheng suddenly received a message from Du Pei.

[Du Pei: Shang Qi is injured.]

[Yue Ban: ?]

[Du Pei: The details are still unclear; I’m on my way there.]

Du Pei boarded a plane and couldn’t contact Chuzheng.

Chuzheng messaged Shang Qi, but there was no response. Unable to stay put, she determined Shang Qi’s location and headed straight there.

-

At the bustling hospital, Chuzheng, a cat, moving through the corridors caught some people’s attention, with even some attempting to catch her.

Chuzheng ran quickly and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Yue Ban?" The lead bodyguard looked at Chuzheng in surprise: "How did you get here?"

Chuzheng scanned the surroundings.

The smart bodyguard pushed open the door on the left: "Sir is in here."

Shang Qi had changed into the hospital’s striped patient clothes, with white gauze wrapped around his forehead, resting with his eyes closed.

His hand outside the blanket was also wrapped in gauze.

Chuzheng’s heart skipped a beat.

Shang Qi was completely corrupted because of the injury to his hand...

But that incident didn’t happen here.

How is he injured again now?

"Sir is not seriously hurt, so don’t worry too much." The lead bodyguard whispered to Chuzheng: "The hand is fine, just a minor wound."

Chuzheng let out a sigh of relief, her tail wrapping around Shang Qi’s wrist.

She took out her phone and asked the lead bodyguard how the incident happened.

"There was a small accident during rehearsals..."

From the bodyguard’s tone, it seemed genuinely accidental, and Shang Qi had returned unexpectedly; otherwise, he would have already left.

If someone had deliberately planned, it couldn’t have been timed so perfectly.

-

Du Pei entered and found Chuzheng already there, unsure of what expression to present.

"How did you get here?" How did she arrive faster than him?!

Chuzheng glanced at him without responding.

Du Pei: "..."

Du Pei suppressed this question and turned to ask the bodyguard about Shang Qi’s condition: "How is he?"

The lead bodyguard repeated the update.

"Good thing he’s okay." Du Pei, having confirmed the situation, leaned closer to Chuzheng: "How did you get here? Are you really a demon?"

Chuzheng: "..."

You’re the demon!

Chuzheng ignored Du Pei, and considering Shang Qi was resting, Du Pei could only curb his curiosity.

Shang Qi slept for over two hours and woke up feeling a circle of soft fur on his wrist, thinking he was hallucinating.

However, as he slightly raised his gaze, he astonishingly saw the white Little Bun lying by his hand.

"Yue Ban?"

Shang Qi’s voice was slightly hoarse.

Chuzheng twitched her ears, raised her head, and met Shang Qi’s gaze.

"How did you get here?" Shang Qi extended his hand to hold her soft paw: "Who brought you here?"

Believe it or not, I came by myself.

Chuzheng pointed at his gauze-covered hand with her paw.

Shang Qi understood what Chuzheng was asking and shook his head: "It’s nothing; it’ll heal soon. Don’t worry."

Supporting himself up, Shang Qi noticed the room was empty. He patted the spot next to him: "Come here."

Chuzheng hesitated, then stepped onto the blanket and squeezed into Shang Qi’s arms.

Du Pei pushed the door open, saw the warm image, and smacked his lips: "Awake?"

Seeing Du Pei didn’t surprise Shang Qi: "Did you bring Yue Ban?"

"No, I did not." He also wanted to know how the little thing got there!

Shang Qi raised his brows slightly.

Xiao Si and the others were still over there and hadn’t come over; how did she get here?

With Chuzheng saying nothing, Shang Qi and Du Pei could only remain curious.

"I asked the doctor earlier, and your injuries aren’t serious; you can be discharged in a couple of days."

"Okay."

Due to Shang Qi’s injury, the performance had to be postponed, and the staff, confirmed Shang Qi was awake, came to discuss the subsequent details of the event with him.

-

After Shang Qi’s incident, Chuzheng closely watched Shang Qi, almost unable to let him go out alone.

Shang Qi thought Chuzheng was scared, so he allowed her to do so.

The situation with the Shang family worsened, and finally, news spread that they were truly bankrupt.

Under such circumstances, Shang Yucheng suddenly showed up.

Presumably believing the Shang family’s plight was due to Shang Qi.

Shang Qi had an unpleasant conversation with Shang Yucheng, with Shang Yucheng speaking harshly and abusively.

Consequently, Shang Yucheng had an accident on the elevator and ended up in the hospital, falling into a coma.

Without Shang Yucheng to oversee, it was predictable how fast the fall of the Shang family would be.

"Mom... have we really gone bankrupt?" The young girl bit her pale lip, looking at the unconscious Shang Yucheng on the hospital bed, tears brimming in her eyes.

The woman sitting beside Shang Yucheng’s bed, also looking ill, covered her mouth and coughed a few times: "Shanyu..."

She didn’t know how to respond and ended up just sighing deeply.

"Is it because of Shang Qi!" Shang Shanyu suddenly cried: "It’s because of him that our family went bankrupt, isn’t it? Dad said he was a curse, that he brought disaster to our family."

The woman coughed, her face pale: "Shanyu, how can you say that about your brother..."

"He’s not my brother!" The young girl cried out: "It’s all because of him that Mom has been sick for years, Dad is lying here now, our family is bankrupt, all because of him! All because of him!!"

"Shanyu!" The woman exclaimed in shock.

She spent most of her time in the hospital over these years, tortured by illness, unable to have much time to educate her daughter.

She never expected that her daughter would turn out like this now.

Ignoring the woman’s calls, Shang Shanyu ran out of the hospital room crying.

Without the title of the Shang family’s heiress, Shang Shanyu quickly understood the harsh realities of life.

Those who used to revolve around her now seemed superior, even daring to humiliate her.

At first, Shang Shanyu dared to fight back, but she soon realized that losing the privileges of the Shang family’s heiress meant losing much authority.

No one stood by her anymore.

Everyone was watching her downfall and pointing fingers behind her back.

Shang Shanyu no longer dared to attend school.

With Shang Yucheng in the hospital requiring large financial resources, Mother Shang had no option but to sell off the remaining assets.

"Cough cough cough... Please give me some more time." Mother Shang pleaded with the hospital staff: "I’ll pay soon."

"Mr. Shang’s chance of waking up is slim. You should consider moving Mr. Shang to a regular ward; the costs there are much lower." The staff advised Mother Shang.

Mother Shang, eyes red, eventually nodded.

She couldn’t afford the high expenses...
