Chapter 112

6 min read

“Hey! Porsche!” Vegas immediately caught my arm, looking concerned. I winced; my tailbone had hit the floor with a lot of force. It hurt like a motherfucker! What were you even panicking about, Porsche?

“I’m fine, I’m fine.” I waved Vegas away, but he came over to help support me, looking over my body with concern.

“You’re hurt, aren’t you? Be careful when you get up,” he said.

The door swung open with a bang. Vegas and I looked up at the sound as we awkwardly tried to get up off the floor.

“Vegas!” Tankhun roared, standing in the doorway with his hands on his hips.

“Big brother?” Vegas called, surprised.

“What are you two doing?!” Tankhun strode over and pushed Vegas’s shoulder until he staggered and fell away from me. Since I hadn’t regained my balance yet, I stumbled as well, hitting my tailbone in the same exact place as before. Ow! Just my fucking luck!

“Brother, please calm down.” Vegas held up his hand at Tankhun, who kept closing in on him.

Tankhun looked back and forth between Vegas and me. “You! Porsche! You and Porsche?! You’re shirtless! Hmph! This isn’t a whorehouse, y’know! What are you trying to do to my employee, you freak?!” he shouted as Pol hurried over to help me up.

Vegas backed away, one eyebrow raised. “At first I thought there was nothing between those ears of yours, but your head is clearly full of dirty thoughts.”

“Vegas, I’ll fucking kill you!” Tankhun yelled. Chaos erupted in my room as Tankhun chased Vegas, kicking the snacks and drinks on the floor and spilling them all over the place.

“Hey! Stop! Mr. Tankhun… I told you to stop!” I called. Pol and Arm stood outside the room, looking uncertain. It seemed they wanted to stop their boss from attacking Vegas but weren’t sure how to do it. I tugged at my hair in frustration. My room was a mess! It looked like a goddamned warzone in here!

“Porsche! Don’t be scared, I’ll protect you! Pol, go get the mat!”18 Tankhun shouted as he ran. I picked up my laptop and papers, hugging them tightly–I was terrified they’d get stomped on.

“Brother! Stop!” Vegas shouted, running away.

“I’m going to destroy you, Vegas!”

“Stop!” I yelled, but they showed no signs of relenting.

At last, Pol brought in a long mat and laid it down at the front of the room. Tankhun caught Vegas and flipped him down onto the mat, but Vegas quickly got the upper hand. He pulled and kicked Tankhun as Tankhun was rolled up into the mat, with only his head poking out.

“Vegas, you bastard! Let me go!” Tankhun shrieked. Vegas wouldn’t back down, rolling Tankhun further into the mat and cursing. As for Pol and Arm, they tried to hold in their laughter before stepping in to help.

“Argh!” I wanted to hit my head against a wall once I saw the mess they’d made of my room. Their cursing and squabbling still hadn’t stopped. I couldn’t take it anymore! I wasn’t staying to watch this fucking shitshow!

I stomped angrily out of the house with my laptop and papers in hand. I could faintly hear Vegas calling after me, but I didn’t want to listen anymore. I’d forgotten to grab my motorcycle keys, so I figured I could just get a taxi to Tem’s place. If I had to endure the clusterfuck back there any longer, the stress was going to give me an aneurysm.

“Where are you going?” Pete rolled down his window as he drove past the gates. I used the opportunity to jump into his car.

“Drop me off at Tem’s place,” I told him, still annoyed.

“What happened?” he asked.

“Motherfucking Vegas and Tankhun got into a fight,” I said as I leaned against the car window, defeated. “They’re making a racket all over the house. It’s so fucking annoying! I can’t focus on my work.”

“Oh, good, Mr. Kinn wanted me to come pick you up anyway,” Pete said while backing up the car. He then turned to exit down the driveway.

“I’m not going to see Kinn. I’m going to Tem’s dorm,” I said, meaning it.

“Just go. Do you want to disobey a direct order?” Pete asked, turning to look at me before focusing on the road again.

“I’m not working today. I don’t have to listen to anyone’s orders.”

“Hah. Just go, Porsche. Mr. Kinn’s already in a bad mood today, and I don’t want to get in trouble.”

“Fucking hell! What the fuck does he want from me?!” I yelled, fed up.

“Just go with the flow,” Pete said casually.

“What do you mean, go with the flow?!”

“Spoiled people like Kinn… If you go along with them for a while, they’ll get bored and stop. If you keep resisting, it’ll only rile them up,” Pete said. He sounded exhausted.

I furrowed my brow and humored his line of thought. It was true—every time I resisted Kinn’s orders, he looked like he was in such a good mood. If I went along with what he wanted, he might actually stop trying to get on my nerves. Those spoiled young masters were all sick in the head! The harder something was to obtain, the more they wanted it. But if they got bored, they’d stop.

Pete ended up driving us to the hospital. I walked behind him, huffing and stomping the entire way to Kinn’s room.

“Didn’t you say you weren’t coming?” Kinn asked, looking up from his phone as soon as he noticed me enter. I didn’t answer, making a face as I sat down on the sofa.

“Ow!” I cried out. I’d forgotten I’d hurt my tailbone. Both Kinn and Pete turned to look at me.

“What’s wrong?” Kinn asked, brow furrowed in curiosity. I didn’t want to answer him, so I turned on my laptop to continue working.

“Do your wounds hurt?” Pete asked me in concern. I shook my head.

“What are you doing?” Kinn asked sternly before he got up from the bed and slowly made his way over to me. I noticed that his IV drip had been removed.

“School report,” I said, scooting away from him. He sat down next to me and stared at my laptop.

“You can do it,” he said, looking at the slides.

“Yes! Ve…” I was about to say Vegas helped me and that was why it was almost done, but I had to quickly swallow my words. If I told Kinn that, he’d fly off the handle and interrogate me for sure.

“‘Ve’? What do you mean?” Kinn looked up at me questioningly.

“Ve… Very important to get things done! When you gotta do it, you gotta do it,” I said, averting my eyes. I could see Pete smirking, but Kinn didn’t seem too intent on the matter. Instead, he kept staring at my slides.
