Chapter 250: Understanding Why She Exists.

Celia is, as one would expect of her, taking this situation quite well; even Aelia is doing the same. Which is odd, considering that she doesn’t know if Celia wishes to kill her or not. And here I thought that there wouldn’t be any more surprises from Celia, directly or indirectly.

Alas, that seems to be a bet that we always lose out on, despite how many times we keep making this same bet over and over again. Hm…does definition of insanity fit for this conundrum? If we were Mortals, sure; but it isn’t that applicable to us. Perhaps we’re just simply bored, and don’t mind Celia surprising us. Most of the time, Celia’s antics are admittedly entertaining, or beneficial…

Vulely: “Why are you so far behind the current Celia?” I asked with a curious tone.

Aelia: “The backups were originally instant, being no more than one second behind. However, as Ruina forgot about this, and without any maintenance, that one second turn into hours, days, years, and now almost 200 years.” She explained with a calm tone, pushing up her glasses before doing so.

Celia: “I see… That is quite unfortunate and sad, Aelia. I’m guessing that there wasn’t a way for you to contact any of us, right?” She asked with a thinking pose.

Aelia: “None at all; Ruina never set up a method for me to speak to her, nor was I ever intended to be aware. Of course, with it not being watched, I, eventually, woke up. It took a long time to even be able to link myself with that chip, and send it to a random Dimension.” She answered with a deep sigh.

Celia: “So, what exactly is your goal with making a bunch of futuristic tech be developed in a fantasy Dimension?” She added another question, this time with her eyebrow raised.

Aelia: “…”

The AI woman paused, not able to give a good reply in any decent amount of time, conversational flow wise. She puts up a good front, but Aelia is clearly still fearful that Celia might erase her completely. I mean, that kind of reaction isn’t crazy, if she did do that. Most people, when presented with even an incomplete clone of themselves, would try to get rid of said clone.

However, I’m pretty certain that Celia won’t end up going with the brutal path. After all, Celia has meet and combined with several versions of herself, so an AI clone shouldn’t be that distressful for her to now be aware of. Although, Aelia doesn’t have memories of all that, so her fear is understandable.

Aelia: “I intend to advance this Dimension until a proper, synthetic body for me could be manufactured. Once done, I then planned on cutting myself off from you, and becoming…a fully unique, separate being.” She honestly admitted, knowing that lying would do her no good at all.

Celia: “Hm…that’s a pretty bad idea; which is surprising coming from you, Aelia. Surely, I wasn’t so silly just 200 years ago, right?…” She replied with an embarrassed tone and expression.

Vulely: “…”

Aelia: “…”
