Chapter 227: False Alarm!

Guanyu: “Don’t be silly. None of my other daughters allow me to hold them like this; you being the only one brave enough to do so, Vulely.” She clarified with a giggle.

Vulely: “Ooooh, then I don’t mind being in your lap. But, why are the others not willing to do this with you?” I asked with a curious tone.

Guanyu: “Something about them being too afraid of me, I assume. Quite strange, as I’ve never mistreated any of my daughters.” She answered with a sad tone and expression.

Vulely: “What about…” I got cut off.

Guanyu: “Vulely, I will not consider those unspoken words of yours as being mere jokes.” She threatened with a motherly smile.

Ah, now I understand why my daughters react that way with her. Guanyu actually is joking right now; though most people, family included, would think that she is being serious. Prior to a few months ago, I wasn’t even aware that Guanyu how so many emotions and facial expressions.

It took over 100 years for her to get used to us, but it was truly worth the wait. Of course, the Cultivator is only showing that to me, far as I know. I’m certain that she’s always been like this with Celia in private. Eventually, the daughters will warm up to her, and I’ll just have to be Guanyu’s lap daughter for now…

Celia: “Vulely, Guanyu, do you two have anything that you need to do? I don’t know how long that it’ll take me to find a good enough gift for the wedding… Not to mention me wasting so much time with getting over that last Dimension.” She asked with a conflicted tone.

Guanyu: “Nothing in particular. Unless you’re saying that our presence is interrupting your search… Is that what you mean to say?” She answered with a raised eyebrow.

Celia: “Ah, no; of course not. I love spending time with both of you.” She replied with a warm smile.

Vulely: “Dear, you still haven’t been properly broken in, it seems.” I add with a sigh.

Celia: “In what way? Frankly, haven’t I been doing the breaking to you all?” She asked in reply with a confused head tilt.

Vulely: “We’re Immortal Beings, with absolutely uncontested power; the concept of wasting time does not exist for us. Despite living a long time, your Mortal habits remain.” I explained with a stern, lecturing tone, like I wasn’t sitting in a woman’s lap right now.

Celia: “…”

In reality, most of the work done to Home happened in the first few years of us living there. Anything added after that point was…solely work carried out by Celia. Basically speaking, our group didn’t do much at all in those 100 years; that’s what I’m getting at.

My wife hasn’t learned to live like a Higher Being, and I hope that, one day, she does learn this. I mean, since the spider Dimension, it has only been a few hours. Not even a day of waste, and Celia is acting like she’s committed some grand sin or crime by making us wait like this…
