Noah’s POV
The man’s face is familiar.
I can’t exactly remember how I know him, but I’m sure I do. A part of me recognizes him, and another part of me is taken by surprise at his hand.
"Goddess" I whisper.
The nausea from my wedding day is slowly returning, but I don’t throw up. I don’t scream. I just lose my mind.
"What the hell is this?" I move out of the chair so fast that it topples over and hits me on the leg.
The pain spreads through my body but my body isn’t registering it.
"Wh-what is this?" I ask, staring straight at the only person that could have done it.
"Answer me!" I yells, and Elias doesnt respond to me.
The alpha’s disturbingly beautiful brown eyes stay fixed on me like a man watching his pet go mad. No, he’s watching me like a man watching his rocks roll around after being shaken on a tray.
"P-please eat your food, master Noah" the Winslow man says and I place my hand over my mouth.
The wound of his missing hand is fresh.
Elias must have cut it off just minutes before calling me in.
Why is he punishing me when I didn’t do anything wrong? He could have taken me last night and I wouldn’t have fought back, so why?
"I’ve done everything you wanted! I married you, I signed the damn paper and I sat when you ordered" I raise my voice with every word I say.
The man drops his head and I shake mine, too irritated by my position. Elias is rubbing my helplessness in my face.
This person is a citizen of my home.
"Why are you still doing this me?" my voice breaks but my posture doesn’t break.
Elias slowly tilts his head. His brows pinch together as if my question is too out of place. Like my question is too difficult to interpret.
"Why am I doing this to you?" Elias asks.
"Why?" I shout again.
I am tempted to throw something at him, but I know someone will pay for it. Zane, this innocent man, Winslow.
"Angel" he calls and my body suddenly loses strength.
Angel.
That title carries a kind of power that makes the room feel...different.
"I didn’t do this to you. I did this for you" Elias says and I shake my head in disbelief.
He’s completely insane. I have heard rumours that he’s mad, but seeing it with my own eyes is a different thing.
"How-how do you cut someone’s hand off and make him serve...how can you..." I stumble all over my words, still thrown off balance by that title.
Angel.
"He touched what’s mine" Elias states.
Touched?
"Is his touch different from you’ll touch me?" I spit and his jaw clenches and unclenches.
"My touch is different" he says, feigning calmness despite the rage in his eyes.
"You just threatened me an hour, you said you would fu- t-take me!" I yell again, refusing to use the dirty word that dignified omegas shouldn’t use.
"I didn’t threaten you, Noah. I promised you" he corrects me.
"You’re insane"
"No. I’m your possessor. I am the only one meant to touch you. And when I touch you...you’ll want it" he says and my jaw drops.
"I will never want your touch, you monster" I growl.
My rejection sparks something in the alpha, he slips his pocket watch out and opens it. He stares at it for a second before he looks at me with his answer.
"I’ll make you want it" is his response to me.
Without saying any other thing to him, I turn around and run out of the room. I don’t know how I remember the way, but I end up in the room I was taken to last night.
My breathing is rapid and I’m losing my mind.
But as I fall apart, the scent on the clothes seem to grow stronger. It’s wrapping around me so tight it feels like a noose.
"Goddess, I can’t do this..." I whisper, lying on the bed and folding myself into a fetal position.
After a few minutes, someone knocks on the door, and even without getting up to open the door, I already know who it is.
Elias knocks again and I squeeze my eyes shut.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Noah" the alpha calls and I start to regulate my breathing.
"Noah" he calls again, calm and quietly.
He knocks again and then stays quiet. I strain my ears to listen in on his movement. The lack of footsteps tells me he’s still there.
Twenty minutes passes and he sighs, it’s like to last attempt to soothe his rage.
"I’ll be back" he says and I change my position, turning around to lay on my back, staring at the white ceiling
"And when I’m back. Angel, you better open" Elias adds before leaving, and when he’s gone, I am finally able to breathe again.
I fall asleep at some point, and after five more hours, the alpha returns for me. I know he’s the one standing there.
He carries the chilling feeling of death with him. Quiet and terrifying. The air always changes whenever he’s around.
I don’t wait for him to call my name, I get out of the bed and open the door.
He has changed his clothes into something simpler. A blue long sleeved shirt and black slacks.
"Good. You’re learning" he says, reaching one hand out to tuck my hair behind my ear and I hold my breath.
His touch is feather light, brushing over the shell of my ear and dropping to his side. I see his fingers twitch like he wants to do more.
"Let’s go" he says and I don’t give a verbal response. I just walk behind him, following him out of the mansion and to the back of the building.
It’s a garden that looks half-dead.
There are more browns than greens, like it’s half-assedly attended to. Why did Elias bring me here?
He points at a statue and my legs move me forward on their own. It’s the statue of a white weeping angel.
It’s hauntingly beautiful. The statue has been there for a long time. Parts of it are dirty but it’s still beautiful.
The marble makes it look beautiful.
"That’s what you look like to me" Elias says and I slowly turn around.
"A weeping angel" the alpha steps close to me.
"Stone" he moves closer to me, he’s close enough that I can feel his body heat.
"Why?" I ask the only thing I can say.
"You’re a smooth, elegant stone, and I will break you" he says.
