She didn’t say what she was going to do downstairs, and turned to walk towards the elevator. Trevor and Old Mills exchanged a glance, and Trevor followed her, entering the elevator together.

As the elevator doors opened, Janelle quickened her pace, rushing towards the lobby, and Trevor snapped out of it, hurrying after her!

The air in the hospital made her feel suffocated!

She wanted to be alone for a moment, to give herself some time and courage to accept all of this.

Trevor still didn’t ask where she was going, just followed close behind her; whatever happened, he would stay by her side.

He had already determined that Janelle had found out she wasn’t biologically hers.

Behind the hospital was a large artificial lake, surrounded by greenery with several paths crisscrossing the lawn, and benches placed by the lake.

Few patients came to bask in the sun since it was just after the new year and the snow hadn’t completely melted. Though there was sunlight, the temperature was still very low.

Upon seeing the artificial lake, Janelle inevitably slowed her steps and walked sluggishly towards the lake’s bench.

Previously, she had seen this artificial lake from Ethan’s room window—it’s relatively peaceful here.

Facing the wind, her mind exploded with thousands of questions...

Trevor, who followed her, cautiously stopped his steps, watching from five meters away as she sat down on the bench.
