Luo Yirui thought about it and agreed, isn’t it more convenient to go inside!
He ducked under the window frame, and the two of them entered the castle from the boiling room.
It’s now past two in the morning, the castle was completely silent, inevitably making one feel a bit uneasy. Even for these two daring kids, goosebumps rose all over.
"We should have brought a flashlight!" Little Fatty whispered.
Luo Yirui glared at him, "Then you’d rather come during the day."
It’s so dark here, if you shine a flashlight, wouldn’t everyone know there’s someone in the hallway!
In the surrounding silence, even though they kept their voices low, it was still very clear, as if echoing in this corridor.
Little Fatty shivered, tugging at Luo Yirui, "Let’s go, let’s check along the edge."
The two of them walked close to the wall base, so they wouldn’t pass under the dim lights, reducing the chance of being unknowingly spotted.
On the second floor, one door had two windows, spaced twelve windows apart, the two of them counted six doors.
Standing in front of the seventh door, they wore peculiar expressions. Between the sixth and seventh doors, there should have been a space like a boiling room, but now it was just a whole wall!
"What’s going on?" Little Fatty mouthed dramatically, spreading his hands as he spoke silently.
Luo Yirui shook his head, he didn’t know what was happening either, could it be a mistake? That shouldn’t be, he counted it several times.
"Maybe the other rooms have a different layout." Luo Yirui said this, continuing forward, yet even when they reached the end of this side, at the corner, there was still no sight of a boiling room.
The two exchanged bewildered glances, after a brief discussion, they returned to between the sixth and seventh doors, Little Fatty reached out to test if there was any mechanism, only to realize he was overthinking, it was solid upon knocking.
"Stop knocking!" Luo Yirui quickly pulled Little Fatty away from there, hiding in the shadow of the corner, it was so quiet that even the lightest knock could be heard by others.
Little Fatty rubbed the goosebumps on his arm, "My hair’s standing on end, what’s going on, could it be just a decorative window."
This explanation didn’t make sense either. Luo Yirui clearly remembered that the distance between that window and the two on either side was about the same, only up and down were different, meaning there indeed was a space in the middle!
A space they couldn’t find!
"Let’s get closer." Little Fatty whispered in Luo Yirui’s ear.
"Why?"
"Cuddle up, I’m really creeped out right now!" Little Fatty said.
Luo Yirui looked at him disdainfully, moving farther away, he rubbed the goosebumps on his arm. Despite being creeped out, he felt quite excited, as if they had discovered a very important clue on their first outing!
The two of them planned to return to the boiling room and look outside again to confirm that the window existed.
Little Fatty turned around to leave, but Luo Yirui pulled him back. As he was about to ask why, Luo Yirui pointed silently to the hallway they came from.
Little Fatty looked over and seemed to vaguely see a human figure, after two seconds, that person appeared under the dim light, briefly before vanishing into the darkness, it indeed was a person!
This person wasn’t walking towards them but headed in the direction of the other hallway!
