Shards of broken reality floated in the void like the bones of dead worlds. Starfire rivers cut through the darkness, their light sharp enough to burn the edges of thought. Lucifer stood at the center of the largest island, black hair stirring in a wind that carried the scent of extinguished stars. Aeloria watched from a higher fragment, arms folded, expression unreadable."This remnant was one of my early mistakes," she said. "Incomplete. Hungry. It feeds on unfinished potential. Perfect for measuring how far you’ve come."
The island shuddered. Something tore itself free from the starfire below.
It rose in pieces. First a pair of ragged angelic wings, feathers blackened and dripping liquid light. Then a torso of overlapping demonic plates, veins of pure hunger glowing beneath the surface. Limbs that were too long, joints that bent the wrong way. Its face was a smooth white mask with a single vertical slit where a mouth should have been. When the slit opened, the sound that came out was not a roar but a vacuum—the noise of something trying to suck existence itself into nothing.
Lucifer’s shadows uncoiled around him like living armor. Blood answered his will, rising from the cuts that already marked his arms and forming thin, sharp blades that hovered at his sides. He felt the difference immediately. The Pseudo-Divine tier was not simply more power. It was authority. The remnant’s presence pressed against him, trying to erase the idea that he belonged in this place. His blood and shadows refused to be erased.
The remnant lunged.
Lucifer moved. Absolute Command left his lips as a quiet word. The starfire river beneath them twisted, forming a wall of burning liquid that slammed into the creature mid-flight. The remnant tore through it, wings trailing molten light, and crashed into him with enough force to crack the island. Lucifer caught the impact on a barrier of condensed shadow. The barrier held for half a second, then shattered. He used the opening to drive both blood-blades into the remnant’s chest.
The blades sank deep. Black fluid that was not blood sprayed across the void. The remnant’s mask tilted. A pulse of pure hunger exploded outward, trying to devour the blades, the shadows, and the man who commanded them. Lucifer felt his own power start to unravel at the edges. For a moment the old fear returned—the fear that he was still only a collection of borrowed pieces.
He refused it.
Blood Manipulation answered harder. He pulled the remnant’s own essence through the wounds, forcing the black fluid to turn against its host. At the same time Umbrakinesis swallowed the light around them, creating a pocket of absolute darkness. Inside that darkness the remnant’s senses failed. Lucifer’s did not. He was the night. He moved through it like a blade through water, carving deeper, using Crimson Genesis to form heavier weapons that carried his intent: destroy, consume, dominate.
The remnant adapted. Its wings folded inward, becoming blades of conceptual erasure. Every strike threatened to cut Lucifer out of existence entirely. One wing scored across his ribs. Pain flared, sharp and cold. The wound tried to spread, rewriting the flesh around it into nothing. Lucifer snarled and poured Blood Hymn into the injury. His own blood sang, knitting the damage shut while flooding the remnant with a reverse frequency—madness and courage turned into pure rejection.
They traded blows across three different islands. Starfire splashed. Reality cracked. Lucifer pushed himself into Devil Trigger for a short burst. Horns of black and crimson light pushed through his hair. A tail of living shadow lashed out, wrapping the remnant’s legs and slamming it into a floating monolith. Hellfire mixed with blood constructs, creating weapons that burned on every level of existence. The remnant screamed without a mouth.
Then Lucifer went further.
Hybrid State—the Crimson Devil—rose for the first time in true combat. Power flooded him so violently that the air around his body warped. Shadows and blood and lust energy fused into a single, catastrophic presence. The remnant’s hunger met something that refused to be consumed. Lucifer drove both hands into the creature’s chest and spoke Absolute Command with the full weight of his new authority.
"Unmake."
The remnant convulsed. Its wings tore free. Its mask cracked. Black essence poured out in rivers that Lucifer absorbed through his Blood Core, converting the failed experiment into fuel. The last of the remnant’s form collapsed into a dense, pulsing fragment of pure potential. Lucifer took it without hesitation. The fragment sank into his chest. World Vein Authority climbed another step.
He dropped out of Hybrid State, breathing hard, the cost of that form already beginning to drain him. Aeloria descended to the broken island, looking almost pleased.
"Acceptable," she said. "You did not break. You consumed. That is the first lesson of godhood. Now you understand the scale of what my failures became."
Lucifer wiped blood from his mouth. "Where are the rest of them?"
"Scattered across the fractures between realms. The strongest still answer to my brother’s will." She tilted her head, listening to something distant. "And speaking of my brother..."
Far beyond the pocket realm, in the thin membrane that separated Aeloria’s sealed universe from the greater Loom, something vast and patient tore open a veil.
Korrath stepped through first. The mountain of void-forged armor filled the tear, white fire burning in the cracks of his plating. Galaxies swirled inside the gaps between metal plates. He looked around the outer void with mild interest, as if the entire sealed universe were a small garden that needed pruning.
Selene followed. Her starlight body moved with elegant precision, long hair drifting in a current that did not exist. The pure black voids of her eyes scanned the darkness, already searching for the signature of the fallen sister and the hybrid seed she protected.
Neither of them spoke at first. They simply stood at the edge of the universe Aeloria had hidden for so long, tasting the air, measuring the weight of what waited inside.
Korrath finally rumbled, voice like continents grinding together. "She is here. The hybrid with her."
Selene’s black eyes narrowed with quiet hunger. "Then the pruning begins."
The veil sealed behind them. Two of the Loom’s most trusted Reavers had entered the sealed universe, and the hunt for Aeloria and her greatest seed had officially begun.
