Chapter 2722: Resurrection

6 min read

A very large ice freezer was carried into the room and placed before Julius Reed."Are you certain the person inside is dead?" Julius Reed halted Merrill Caldwell’s subordinates and circled around the ice freezer a few times.

What was inside was most likely those slumbering emperor realm experts.

Only those guys have the ability to sleep for thousands of years without dying.

Ordinary martial artists would have died long ago.

They don’t have the ability to sleep for thousands or even tens of thousands of years!

Even hundreds of thousands of years!

Any slight variable among them could lead to their death.

Strong physique and power become pivotal.

"I’ve examined him; his bodily functions are long gone, not a single life sign is present." Merrill Caldwell nodded assuredly, "Absolutely dead, just frozen for many years without decay."

She felt something was amiss when discovering this corpse.

Hence, she immediately called for Boulevard Mountain experts, subjected it to rounds of examination, and even used forceful methods, striking the corpse’s heart and brain, all without effect.

Even after employing various advanced scientific instruments for examination, nothing was found.

Therefore, Merrill Caldwell concluded he was dead.

She then rushed here overnight, carrying the corpse to the southeast region, and sought Julius Reed through Nelson.

The clothes on the corpse were highly suspect, as was the time of its appearance.

Merrill Caldwell wasn’t naive; she knew the gravity of these matters.

Without any delay, she hurried here.

Fortunately, Julius Reed arrived swiftly.

"I doubt it," Julius Reed looked at the freezer and slowly opened it.

The inside of the freezer housed many advanced instruments, along with numerous cables connected to the supposed deceased.

Above the entire freezer was a display screen.

Cameras inside the freezer allowed for real-time monitoring of the internal situation.

The outermost layer was robust steel, equipped with three already unlocked locks.

It was evident that even though Merrill Caldwell deemed the person inside dead, she was still uneasy and went to great lengths for protection.

Now that Julius Reed was present, those locks were opened.

The instruments showed nothing but flat lines, indicating no life signs from this person, not the slightest.

A martial artist can slumber, their internal power being mostly responsible.

They maintain life during sleep through the consumption of internal spiritual power.

Though it was hard to determine according to the situation back then.

Like Jessica’s brother, who once attempted feigned death to escape the catastrophic Heavenly Dao.

Yet in the face of modern medical equipment, any life sign would be detected.

There wouldn’t be any trace left unseen.

The only explanation was this person truly being dead.

Julius Reed still didn’t believe it; he reached out and gently touched the person’s head.

Such attire was undoubtedly of emperor realm expertise.

Experts like the Southern-sky people, how could they easily die?

Julius Reed’s hand touched the corpse’s forehead.

"Definitely dead, without a possibility of being alive," Merrill Caldwell asserted confidently. "If he were alive, that would truly be a miracle."

Any medical equipment couldn’t detect anything.

No life signs at all.

If not a corpse, then what is it?

She felt Julius Reed might be overly tense but didn’t voice it.

Merrill Caldwell trusted Julius Reed and never doubted.

The maids around also felt Julius Reed might be overly cautious, making a fuss over nothing.

But suddenly!

The corpse inside the freezer sharply opened its eyes!

"Ah!" Someone screamed.

The maids turned in terror, wanting to flee.

But the door suddenly wouldn’t open.

Merrill Caldwell covered her mouth with her hand, trying not to make any sound, yet her body still trembled slightly!

This was not fear, but a lingering dread!

They were carrying alive again!

If anything happened midway...

Merrill Caldwell dared not think, it was too terrifying.

Because if this person were still alive, it meant they were already dead.

Bam bam bam!

The person inside the freezer struggled incessantly!

Creating waves of sound!

While Julius Reed’s finger pressed tightly on his head, his other hand pinched the corpse’s neck, preventing any movement!

"Don’t be nervous, he was probably harmed in some mutation, falling into a semi-death state," Julius Reed reassured Merrill Caldwell.

After he spoke, the struggling below began to weaken.

But the suddenly revived life aura, however, grew weaker.

It seemed like he was about to die again.

However, at this moment, the man’s hands surprisingly lifted up.

His hands didn’t grasp at Julius Reed, they instead formed into fists, offering a respectful gesture to Julius Reed.

This abnormal behavior even surprised Julius Reed.

He released his hand to see what the man intended to do.

As soon as his hand relaxed, Merrill Caldwell and others quickly retreated.

They all worried that the person inside the freezer might do something outrageous.

Yet under everyone’s terrified gaze, the man sat up slowly and once again saluted Julius Reed.

Very strange, yet understandable.

Because Julius Reed didn’t kill him.

This was a form of gratitude.

"I... Rian Harris." The man took a deep breath, his body shivering uncontrollably.

This was a reaction of bodily weakness.

Rian Harris sat there for a while, then directly jumped out from the freezer, bowing deeply towards Julius Reed: "Thank... for sparing my life."

"Wait!"

Julius Reed stretched out his hand, indicating for him not to continue: "I never said I wouldn’t kill you, I just want to see what you planned to do."

"I just don’t want to die," Rian Harris gave a bitter smile, "Who wants to die? Everyone wants to live, right?"

"That’s indeed true, but you’re very dangerous; you must give me a reason to let you live," Julius Reed pointed at him, "I’ve killed three like you!"

After saying this, the man froze, looking at Julius Reed with an incredulous expression.

"Are you a modern martial artist?" He hesitated for a moment before asking aloud.

"Indeed, I am a modern martial artist. But I’ve killed three of your kind—one claiming to be the North Palace King! Another calling himself a Southern-sky person, and as for the third, he died by my hand before speaking further."

Julius Reed spoke arrogantly.

"Is it true?" Rian Harris still felt disbelief.

"It’s true, absolutely," Julius Reed clasped his hands behind his back, chuckling lightly, "If you doubt, you can make a move, I’ll let you experience this power."

"I believe," Rian Harris closed his eyes and when he opened them again, his face was filled with shock!

"You believe?" This time, it was Julius Reed’s turn to be surprised, "Why do you suddenly believe?"

"Because, I felt it. Previously, the person who snapped the domino was you, right?"

Rian Harris’s tone now held courtesy.

"It was me, what of it? How did you know I snapped the domino?"

This time, Julius Reed felt surprised.

The only one who saw him snap the dominoes was the Southern-sky person.

How could a dead person know?
