Chapter 2721: The Iceman

6 min read

Inside the room. Julius Reed had no idea his whereabouts would be exposed.

Because when the Southern-sky person was dying, they only mentioned breaking that thing, but never said what that thing was.

What effect does it have!

Julius Reed, apart from being blown over by a gust of wind, had no reaction whatsoever.

He speculated, either this was the Southern-sky person’s last trick before dying.

To deceive him with something that meant nothing.

That way, he would definitely remember the Southern-sky person, unable to shake it off for at least hundreds of years.

He might even think of him when he sees similar things in the future.

Or perhaps, he’d be endlessly anxious, constantly pondering over the consequences of breaking that thing!

No matter what, it’s all more trouble for Julius Reed.

So he simply didn’t think about it.

Thinking about meaningless things is a waste of time.

"You almost devoured me." Nelson leaned on Julius Reed, speaking ruefully.

"It’s truly moving." Julius Reed surveyed the familiar layout around him, "Years ago in this hotel, you caused me so much trouble. I remember it clearly, I even threw you a bit of money before leaving."

"You still mention it!"

Nelson extended his hand, gripping Julius Reed’s muscle tightly.

"Hmph! If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would’ve almost forgotten."

Julius Reed, embracing Nelson, said, "The world isn’t peaceful, you have to be careful."

"Mm, what have you been through? When I got the message, I told you immediately without hesitation." Nelson, completely devoid of the authority she showed in front of others, nestled against him like a little bird: "I’m just worried about you. Who’s the opponent this time?"

"This time the opponent is a bit formidable, a bit tricky." Julius Reed tapped his hand, "But it seems like every step I take is already paved for me. Do you believe someone can plan millions of years into the future?"

"Millions of years bring too many variables. I don’t believe it, but I wouldn’t think such a person doesn’t exist." Nelson shrank back a little, some worry in her voice: "Can your safety be guaranteed?"

"Who knows? I always feel like there’s a hand controlling me. It’s truly frustrating, I want to know who this person is, yet I just can’t find out. I once tried to understand, but only got a partial understanding."

Julius Reed thought of that mysterious Swordsman.

If not for the powers obtained in the Nine Provinces royal residence, those remnants of telekinesis arranged by the Swordsman in advance.

Julius Reed truly wouldn’t be confident facing these masters of emperor realms!

But then again.

If it weren’t for rescuing the Seven Gem Slope, if not for him taking out the crown from Seven Gem Slope and placing it on his head!

He wouldn’t have become this king, nor would he have so many formidable opponents.

Both seem to have been arranged in advance.

Allowing Julius Reed to now have the capability to contend with these people, and then find him enemies.

But who exactly is this Swordsman?

And what is the purpose?

Seeing Julius Reed a bit downcast, Nelson kissed him on the cheek.

"Alright, no matter what worries you have, don’t show them in front of me, it’ll make me worry. You must be happy, understand?"

"Let’s not talk about these matters for now, you have a friend here, she probably hasn’t left yet."

"Merrill Caldwell?" Julius Reed smiled.

"You really do know everything, don’t you?" Nelson’s voice was tinged with sour jealousy.

Julius Reed got up, "Will you come with me to see her?"

Merrill Caldwell had a special relationship with him, now Merrill Caldwell was his subsidiary.

"I won’t go, in case I interrupt your private time!" Nelson left arm in arm with Julius Reed: "Stay safe, remember you’re our pillar at all times."

"Got it. Are you worried Merrill Caldwell might do something to me?" Julius Reed asked in return.

"Hmph." Nelson blushed.

Without saying a word.

"Stay safe here, wait for me to resolve things, then I’ll come find you." Julius Reed turned around, embracing Nelson: "Take care of yourself."

No idea when it started, his feelings towards Nelson had changed.

Before, Nelson had always pursued relentlessly, even making Julius Reed somewhat dislike her.

But later on.

Even after they went through that hotel incident, Julius Reed still didn’t feel much.

But later, with Nelson risking her life time and time again, regardless of the danger, staying by Julius Reed’s side.

It completely changed how Julius Reed felt about her.

"I will, and you too." Nelson lowered her head.

Julius Reed passed through the long corridor, leaving here, and took a car to where Merrill Caldwell was.

He knew this girl well.

If there wasn’t something urgent, Merrill Caldwell wouldn’t leave Boulevard to come here.

Upon reaching the floor, he immediately saw Caldwell Family’s maid.

"Miss!"

The maid saw Julius Reed, first stunned, then hurriedly turned around, shouting loudly: "Master is here!"

The door swung open instantly.

Merrill Caldwell, with twin ponytails, stood on the upper floor, looking at Julius Reed.

Her eyes glistened with tears.

"Come up and talk." She quickly turned around, returning to the room to start tidying up.

Julius Reed leapt upstairs into the room.

"Why did you run all the way here?" Julius Reed sat in the chair, crossing his legs.

Merrill Caldwell didn’t speak, but kept sniffing.

"What’s up?" Julius Reed was a bit surprised: "Are you a dog?"

"Nelson!"

She walked behind Julius Reed, lifting his collar, scoffing: "Sure enough, there are even teeth marks."

"Hey, kids shouldn’t talk nonsense." Julius Reed awkwardly pushed her hand away: "What’s the matter?"

"Boulevard has made a discovery." Merrill Caldwell threw the photos on the table.

Amidst the vast white snow, lay a person.

That person, eyes open, was dead.

Their body was frozen stiff, yet appeared as if alive.

"What’s going on?"

Julius Reed looked through a few photos.

This person’s clothing was very unique!

"An Emperor?"

He suddenly recalled, the North Palace King seemed to wear such a garment!

Even the Southern-sky person’s, looked somewhat similar.

"We found this person, then rushed over to report to you because their death was very peculiar."

Merrill Caldwell pointed to the person’s head in the photo: "Look, their head has a wound. It’s pentagonal!"

Julius Reed picked up the photo to take a closer look.

Indeed, the corpse had such a wound on its head.

"Did you bring it?" he asked getting up.

"In the freezer." Merrill Caldwell motioned, and a servant immediately brought over a freezer.
