Eight thirty?
Julian, isn’t it a bit late at this time?
After finishing breakfast, Julian continued to study what he learned from his uncle yesterday. After half past eight, footsteps sounded on the stairs.
"Julian, you’re up so early?" Sophie Wilson greeted lazily as she came downstairs. It was clear she had just woken up, and the sleepiness hadn’t completely left her.
"Auntie, didn’t you say you were going to handle some business matters today?" Julian asked.
"Yes." Sophie Wilson nodded, sitting by the dining table. The housekeeper immediately served her favorite breakfast, and she began eating seriously.
"I saw that uncle left pretty early." Julian tested the waters with a comment.
Sophie Wilson understood and replied with a smile, "As I told you, I’m not a professional. You probably won’t learn my way, but there are times when you can use it."
"If you enjoy my laid-back lifestyle, you can learn a bit from it."
Julian’s eyes lit up, nodding energetically as if he had an epiphany, "I get it, Auntie. There are many methods in business; you have to find what suits you."
"Exactly." Sophie Wilson said while eating, "Your uncle is more meticulous with his work, whereas I’m more laid-back and comfortable."
After Sophie Wilson finished breakfast and rested for a bit, she took Julian out.
"Auntie, where are we going?" Julian asked.
"Taking you to my renovation company," Sophie Wilson replied with a laugh. "The business at Lingzhu Jade isn’t really a company; it’s not short of business and doesn’t hold much meaning for learning."
Upon arriving at the company, Sophie Wilson went straight to her office and then said, "The department functions are similar across companies, but what I want to share with you are some business philosophies."
"It’s not really a secret; the principles are something everyone understands." Sophie Wilson put away her smile and spoke seriously, "In business, never ever deceive consumers. Because, in the end, the bitter fruit you sow is only for yourself to eat."
"Whenever doing any business, consider whether you can accept the service or product. This gives you an internal standard."
Sophie Wilson’s words made Julian nod repeatedly, feeling a sense of admiration. Auntie calls herself laid-back, but she is actually quite meticulous.
"I understand." Julian nodded, "Conducting business must also have a conscience; it’s not all about profit."
"Exactly." Sophie Wilson said with a smile, "Being a kind person is the foundation of doing business."
"That’s the first step I want to teach you, and as for the second step..."
Sophie Wilson’s words were interrupted by the phone ringing on the desk. She picked it up, "What’s the matter?"
Julian noticed a playful expression suddenly appeared on Auntie’s face, and she smiled, "Alright, let them come in."
After hanging up the phone, Sophie Wilson smiled and said to Julian, "This is the second step I want to teach you, watch carefully."
"In terms of my business experience, there are only these two steps. Today, you have the chance to learn them completely." Sophie’s words made Julian nod enthusiastically, feeling lucky for his good fortune.
However... Julian glanced at the office door with a bit of confusion. Why does the second step require cooperation from others?
