Third Person’s POVAria and Erius had long since become numb to Ethan’s outrageous behavior, but even then, they couldn’t help but inwardly sigh at how casually he continued crossing his limits before none other than the Second Queen herself.
They had truly never witnessed someone treat a queen in such a manner.
Surprisingly, Shixea remained completely unfazed by both his rude interruption and uncouth manner of address.
The faint smile upon her beautiful face didn’t diminish in the slightest.
"I explained everything in such detail because you should properly understand what you will be facing inside that realm."
"After all, the entrance to the Glaciem Ice Abyss isn’t limited merely to the students of the New Moon Magic Academy."
She paused briefly before continuing.
"And while we are discussing your responsibilities, you are required to bring me at least three drops of Frost Origin Dew."
"In return, I shall arrange for approximately ten percent of the seals upon your body to be removed."
Although her voice remained gentle and pleasant to listen to, Ethan could clearly perceive the warning hidden behind those smiling eyes.
If he failed to complete this task, the days awaiting him would most likely become considerably more unpleasant.
At the same time, she was subtly reminding him that the liberties he had been taking until now wouldn’t necessarily continue being tolerated forever.
Ethan’s expression remained as bored as before.
This time, however, he wisely chose not to provoke her any further, as he had already understood the meaning behind her words, and there was absolutely nothing to gain from further angering this troublesome woman merely to satisfy his own ego.
And he was not that foolish.
As expected, Shixea continued speaking.
"There is another secret regarding the Glaciem Ice Abyss that only the IceHeart Royal Family is privy to."
Her expression gradually became solemn.
"However, before I reveal it, each of you must first swear in the name of the Ice Emperor that you shall never divulge the contents of today’s discussion to another soul outside this room."
The moment those words left her lips, her gaze slowly swept across everyone present.
It even lingered momentarily upon her own son, and seeing this, Erius couldn’t help but become somewhat surprised.
To be frank, this was also the first time he had heard about something called the Frost Origin Dew.
He was still only in his early twenties and had barely heard anything substantial regarding the Glaciem Ice Abyss itself, much less secrets known only to the royal family.
Seeing the unprecedented seriousness within Shixea’s expression, everyone’s faces gradually became solemn.
One after another, they uttered their oaths until finally, it became Ethan’s turn.
Feeling everyone’s gazes turn towards him, Ethan calmly spoke,
"In the name of the Ice Emperor, I swear that I shall never divulge the secrets spoken here to another soul outside this room."
The moment he completed his oath, a cold shiver suddenly traveled down his spine.
For a fleeting instant, Ethan felt as though he had been transported into an endless abyss of coldness and isolation where even the concept of warmth and company had ceased to exist.
It lasted for no more than a fraction of a second before it disappeared completely, almost as though it had merely been an illusion created by his imagination.
However, Ethan knew better than that.
This wasn’t an illusion.
Instead, an invisible law had silently bound his soul under the name and authority of the Ice Emperor, with the contents of his oath acting as the binding factor.
More terrifying still was the fact that Ethan couldn’t sense the slightest flaw or loophole within that invisible binding oath.
Naturally, this wasn’t because Shixea had suddenly become a genius at drafting magical contracts.
Rather, she had cleverly prepared the exact wording of the oath moments beforehand and had simply instructed everyone present to repeat it word for word.
Seeing that everyone had completed their oaths successfully, a faint smile finally appeared upon Shixea’s face.
"Even the royal family’s records do not state precisely how long ago it existed, perhaps hundreds of thousands of years ago, or perhaps even a million."
Her voice seemed to become increasingly distant and ancient as she spoke.
"However, long before the current era arrived, a mighty and prosperous empire once ruled over the northern portion of the Dark Star Continent.
At its peak, its territory encompassed the entirety of the present Northern Glacial Region, most of the Central Divine Region, and even portions of both the Eastern and Western Continental Regions of the Dark Star Continent."
Everyone silently listened to her words.
"And unlike the Ice Emperor City of today, which merely bears the title of an empire, that ancient power was a true empire.
Every inch of its territory was directly administered by its imperial capital.
Its laws governed countless kingdoms and noble families beneath its banner, while its authority stretched across lands beyond imagination."
Her next words caused everyone’s expressions to change.
"And that imperial capital was none other than the Ice Emperor City of today."
Silence instantly descended upon the study, and even Ethan’s expression finally changed slightly, as even the two demon empires of the Blood Veil Continent didn’t hold so much land together as this single empire did.
"Although it could be compared to the present era’s Luminous Cradle Empire, its territory, prosperity, and military might far surpassed even that ancient hegemon."
"Its name..."
Shixea paused and took a deep breath before uttering those ancient words.
"Was the Glaciem Crown Empire, and the Glaciem Ice Abyss is said to be the final vestige left behind by that mighty empire’s fallen capital."
The moment those words echoed throughout the study, a shocking silence descended upon the room.
Everyone’s expressions became incomparably solemn.
Even Ethan could no longer conceal the interest within his crimson eyes.
For the very first time since this conversation began, he straightened his posture and properly sat upon his chair before silently looking towards Shixea, waiting for her to continue.
"The records preserved by the royal family don’t detail how that ancient empire ultimately fell, but..."
Shixea suddenly paused midway through her sentence.
For the first time since beginning her explanation, serious hesitation appeared upon her beautiful face.
