Chapter 18: Shocking Qi and Blood Value

9 min read

"Student Liu Yiheng, Qi and Blood Value: 9.02."

"Student Yang Lei, Qi and Blood Value: 8.99."

"Student Zou Xiao, Qi and Blood Value: 9.03."

"..."

One by one, students were called up and underwent the Qi and Blood test in an orderly fashion. The surrounding crowd buzzed with quiet discussion, creating a lively atmosphere.

"Brother Qi, everyone’s Qi and Blood Value is over 9.0 now."

"But it’s almost impossible for them to break through to the Second Realm before the college entrance exams," Jiangtao spoke up beside him.

Lin Qi nodded. In the third year of high school, the gap between geniuses and ordinary students would only become more and more terrifying.

With a Talent like his, he could break through from a 9.0 Qi and Blood Value in just a month, while others couldn’t even reach 9.9 in three.

This was the gap created by Talent.

"Brother Qi, what’s your Qi and Blood Value now?" Jiangtao suddenly asked, curious.

Lin Qi glanced around and saw many people eyeing him, so he shook his head. "You’ll all find out in a bit."

Jiangtao looked at Lin Qi and got a strange feeling that Lin Qi was about to give everyone another surprise.

"Student Chen Zichuan, Qi and Blood Value: 9.98."

Chen Zichuan smiled when he saw the result and looked toward Lin Qi, who gave him a thumbs-up.

"Holy crap, Chen Zichuan improved again! He’s on track to break into the top ten of our year," someone exclaimed in surprise.

"It’s over, I’m trash. I can’t believe Chen Zichuan surpassed me," someone said with a bitter smile.

Zhang City also smiled. Although Chen Zichuan wasn’t on the same level as Lin Qi and Jiangtao, he was still a promising talent.

"Student Zhu Yuqi, Qi and Blood Value: 10.9."

"Student Qi Yuelin, Qi and Blood Value: 12.1."

"Student Yu Jing, Qi and Blood Value: 12.5."

With three people in a row having broken through to the Second Realm, the class erupted.

"Holy crap, have this many people already broken through to the Second Realm?"

"This is insane. We’re all students in the Elite class, so how is the gap getting wider and wider?"

Yu Jing looked at Lin Qi, Li Zhou, and Jiangtao, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.

When it came to Qi and Blood Value this time, he might just be able to surpass the three of them.

"Next, Jiangtao!"

Jiangtao grinned, revealing a set of pearly white teeth.

He rubbed his fists together and stepped into the Qi and Blood Tester. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he suddenly exerted his strength, and a powerful aura erupted from his body.

"RAAAGH!!"

Putting his all into it, he let out a great roar, like a Giant Ape bellowing as his Qi Blood surged wildly.

"BEEP! BEEP!"

The data appeared on the electronic screen.

[Student Jiangtao, Qi and Blood Value: 13.9]

Someone in the class exclaimed, "Jiangtao is a beast! As expected of the Sword Ape! A Qi and Blood Value of 13.9!"

"His Qi and Blood Value is a full 1.4 higher than Yu Jing’s!"

"How is he getting stronger and stronger?"

The hearts of the onlookers pounded in their chests. Watching the school’s Top Level experts test their Qi Blood was always so exciting.

Yu Jing’s face paled, and he froze on the spot.

’How could the gap be this big?’

Jiangtao walked down, laughing heartily, and looked at Lin Qi.

"Brother Qi, you better step it up. Don’t let me surpass you."

Lin Qi shook his head. "You’ll find out in a bit."

Beside them, Li Zhou also looked quite nervous.

"Next, Lin Qi!"

As Zhang City spoke, everyone’s curious gazes turned to Lin Qi in the center.

Lin Qi slowly walked forward.

"I’m so nervous. What do you guys think Lin Qi’s Qi and Blood Value is?" someone asked nervously.

"Probably about the same as Jiangtao’s," someone next to him said uncertainly.

"I think so too."

Many felt the air grow quiet as everyone waited curiously for the result.

Li Zhou discreetly gripped the leg of his pants to wipe the sweat from his palms.

Yu Jing watched Lin Qi with a grim expression.

Lin Qi exhaled, feeling the Gravity Rings on his arms. He reached out and firmly gripped the machine’s metal handles, his gaze hardening as he suddenly unleashed his strength.

"BOOM!!"

In an instant, his Qi Blood erupted. It boiled throughout his body, flowing at high speed. His muscles swelled, the 12 Great Tendons around his body suddenly bulged, and the veins on his arms popped out.

An immense strength flooded into his arms as he fiercely gripped the metal handles. An invisible aura whipped up a violent gust of wind.

The people around him felt as if a giant golden tiger had awakened. It radiated a sharp aura that made them afraid to look directly at it.

Only Zhang City’s eyes were wide as he watched the scene unfold.

"BEEP! BEEP!!"

An infrared light scanned Lin Qi’s body.

The electronic screen flickered wildly before a string of data appeared.

"Student Lin Qi, Qi and Blood Value: 17.8"

Silence!

The entire classroom fell silent in an instant.

After hearing the Qi and Blood Value, many were instantly stunned into a stupor.

"How much?" someone asked, suspecting they had misread it.

Heavens!!

"Holy crap, am I seeing things? 17.8? Is that a Qi and Blood Value a normal person can have?" Someone blinked hard.

Chen Zichuan’s eyes went wide in disbelief.

Kang Feiyue’s jaw dropped. Zhu Yuqi’s eyes widened as she covered her mouth. Qi Yuelin’s beautiful eyes locked onto Lin Qi, shining with a peculiar light.

Yu Jing’s face was a mask of utter disbelief.

"He’s too fierce! The nickname ’Hidden Tiger’ fits him perfectly! He’s just too strong!"

Under everyone’s stares, Lin Qi calmly retracted his aura and slowly walked out of the Qi and Blood Tester.

Jiangtao couldn’t stop shaking his head. He asked in shock, "Brother Qi, how are you so damn strong??"

"Your Qi and Blood Value is almost 4 points higher than mine."

Lin Qi smiled. "Just normal Cultivation!"

Jiangtao: ...

Lin Qi glanced at the crowd, his expression still calm.

Beside him, Li Zhou was also unable to hide his astonishment. ’That Qi and Blood Value is just too absurd.’

He smiled bitterly to himself. ’How the hell am I supposed to compete with that? There’s no way I can catch up.’

He had been completely surpassed; he couldn’t even see the other guy’s taillights.

Zhang City also collected himself, thinking with silent shock, ’This kid... I can’t even tell how strong he is anymore.’

’Damn it, that’s a Qi and Blood Value over 17.’

"Next, Li Zhou!"

The Qi and Blood Value test continued. This time, it was Li Zhou’s turn.

"Student Li Zhou, Qi and Blood Value: 14.2"

Although his Qi and Blood Value was also very high, with Lin Qi’s spectacular result as a point of comparison, it suddenly seemed ordinary to the crowd.

Li Zhou felt the same way. Looking at Lin Qi in front of him, he could clearly feel that the times had changed.

The number one spot in the class had officially been handed over.

The new number one was now—Lin Qi!

At the same time, Zhang City announced:

"Ahem, I declare the Qi and Blood test officially over."

"Next, follow me to the Virtual Room!"

After speaking, Zhang City turned and left, but the students in the class didn’t dare to move. They all looked at Lin Qi.

"Brother Qi, let’s go!"

"Alright!"

Lin Qi nodded, only then belatedly realizing that he now held the same status Li Zhou once had.

So he took the lead and walked toward the door. Only then did the others dare to move, following behind him.

Everyone arrived at the Virtual Room. Several new Virtual Cabins had been added to the spacious room, bringing the total up to 20.

"The Martial Arts assessment will be the same as before."

"I won’t waste any more words. When your name is called, log into a Virtual Cabin. I hope you can all achieve the results you’re hoping for," Zhang City said with a serious expression.

After the shock, everyone returned to reality, needing to face the tense Martial Arts assessment.

As the Martial Arts assessment got underway, Jiangtao sidled over. "Brother Qi, your progress is just too fast!"

Lin Qi asked, "Is progressing fast a bad thing?"

"Taozi, the world is constantly changing."

"We’re not the same people we used to be!"

"Didn’t we agree we’d become the top geniuses in Celestial Sea City together?"

Jiangtao fell silent after hearing this, a little dazed. ’That’s right.’

They weren’t the same people they once were. The two of them were now the most outstanding geniuses in all of Celestial Sea City.

They had ample resources, they had Talent, and they worked hard. Wasn’t it normal for them to have their current achievements?

He looked at Lin Qi. He had seen for himself how hard the other boy had been working recently.

So, Lin Qi deserved to have such a high Qi and Blood Value.

He reflected on himself, wondering if he had grown complacent and started to slack off because of his achievements.

"I get it now, Brother Qi!"

"Thanks!" Jiangtao said gratefully.

"What’s there to thank me for? It’s our turn now," Lin Qi smiled.

"Yu Peng, Zhu Yuqi, Qi Yuelin, Yu Jing, Jiangtao, Lin Qi, Li Zhou!"

"Enter the Virtual Cabins!" Zhang City announced!

The few of them stepped out from the crowd, entered their respective Virtual Cabins, and logged into the Red Realm.
