"Thi-This is..." Chen Lengqiang’s lips trembled.
Chu Xiu said, "How long have the four of you been walking like this?"
Chen Lengqiang opened his mouth, but the words stalled at his lips. He couldn’t remember exactly how many days they had been walking, only that it had been a long time.
But how could that be possible? As a King Tier warrior, he had a photographic memory, and could sense the internal cycle in his body to tell time. How could he possibly not know how many days had passed?
The three behind him also looked bewildered, their faces full of confusion and terror.
"Do you know where this is?" Chu Xiu asked again.
Chen Lengqiang stiffly shook his head.
Chu Xiu said, "This is the bottom of the furnace. You said you wanted to reach the upper levels of the furnace, so how did you end up going deeper instead?"
"This, this is impossible!" Shen Tianxie shouted fiercely, "The Yin Qi around us is clearly decreasing. When we first arrived, we had to use all our power to activate the Victorious Sun Candle to resist it. Now, we can barely manage without it. What trick did you use? Don’t expect to fool me!"
Chu Xiu shook his head and said, "It’s not that the Yin Qi is decreasing, but that you have become corpses, and can naturally endure more Yin Qi."
"Take a good look around. Is the Yin Qi really less or more?"
The four glanced around, their faces showing increasing fear. Shen Tianxie turned pale, his lips quivering. "No, it’s impossible, how could something like this exist?"
Chu Xiu said, "Try it now. Can you initiate a departure to escape?"
This sentence seemed to pierce through the last psychological defense of the four, as scattered fragments of memory flashed through their minds.
On the day they encountered the Murder Ghost, the four of them did not actually escape. After the Heroic Spirit was killed, they were caught one by one and sliced into pieces by Spatial Cutting.
How could a Murder Ghost who enjoys killing ever let the four of them go?
Chen Lengqiang’s hands trembled as he touched his clothes, finding fine cut marks. Upon lifting them, he discovered his body had long been torn to pieces, yet for some reason, it was held together by a strange power.
The only woman among them screamed and crouched down, clutching her head, while Shen Tianxie’s body trembled. "Impossible, what illusion technique did you use?"
Chu Xiu said no more. When people face something they cannot accept, their first reaction is denial, followed by anger, negotiation, depression, and acceptance.
He knew that saying anything to them now would be useless.
Nobody wants to accept that they are dead. In comparison, a bizarre illusion technique of an evil Heroic Spirit became their only hope.
Chu Xiu did not bother entangling with them further; he mounted the Garuda and accelerated away.
He cared little about the life or death of the four, but...
"There’s something very wrong with this place." Chu Xiu’s expression was heavy.
Making corpses continue to move wasn’t difficult — he had acquired the resurrection corpse teachings during his Warrior Tier.
But allowing a corpse to retain its consciousness and not even realize it was dead was a whole other level of complexity.
Even so, this wasn’t what made Chu Xiu’s expression so grave.
What truly shocked him was...
"The four of them don’t seem to have been deliberately altered by someone but rather seem to have entered a special domain formed by this place!"
"Anyone who steps into this area will be affected by the domain!"
This was indeed bewildering.
According to them, their deaths should have occurred not far from when Chu Xiu had previously fought with the Murder Ghost, at the very least, certainly not at the bottom of the furnace.
Yet even so, after their deaths, they still were affected by the domain! So, how vast is the scope of this domain?
This level of power...
At this moment, Chu Xiu’s expression changed again.
"Miss Jiang, can you try to initiate a departure?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Miaoyin was startled and after concentrating to check, her expression changed drastically.
"Absolutely not! Senior, what should we do now?"
Chu Xiu pondered for a while and said, "This place is bizarre, not what we initially thought. For safety, let’s leave here first to make further plans."
He initially thought that at most, an evil Heroic Spirit haunted this area. Even if advantage was taken of the terrain, he could at least manage to protect himself if not prevail. But now the situation was too strange, beyond the means that a Heroic Spirit should possess.
The two made a decisive decision and flew back the way they came. But it wasn’t long before Chu Xiu’s expression tightened again.
"The terrain has changed."
His Divine Sense scanned the surroundings. Beneath were chaotic, formless rocks, but his powerful Divine Soul made him immediately aware that something was wrong.
"This place is like a Black Death Prison, space is distorted, different spaces are spliced together."
"After we left, the space here had changed to another place."
These words made Jiang Miaoyin’s face turn pale. "Could it be that even you, Senior, cannot see through it?"
Chu Xiu hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.
Actually, in the inheritance of Demon Cultivators, lots of foundational knowledge were recorded. The current methods were quite similar to some advanced trapping arrays.
However, how could an ordinary array encompass an entire world? And do so without leaving a trace?
After a brief deliberation, Chu Xiu made a decisive decision, immediately taking the Garuda straight to the sky!
Given the peculiarity of this place and his nature, he would definitely confirm a path of retreat before pursuing any opportunities.
Under Chu Xiu’s direction, the Garuda sped incredibly fast. In an instant, they soared to tens of thousands of meters in the sky, continuing to ascend at many times the speed of sound.
Yet the dense clouds formed by descending Yin Qi endlessly swirled past on both sides. After rushing for a quarter of an hour, at least thousands of miles should have been covered, but Chu Xiu’s expression remained heavy. Jiang Miaoyin turned her head, incredulous to still vaguely see the ground beneath the clouds!
