"If Mr. Yates says you’re the eldest Miss of the Yates Family, then you are."In short, Noah Yates still calls the shots in the Yates Family, and he takes Noah’s words as his standard.
"Alright then, call me whatever you want," Scarlett Yates was too lazy to argue with him about this. She was more concerned about another matter now.
They said the person would come in the evening, so why did they arrive so soon?
Also, why does Noah insist that she accompanies the mysterious guest? Just who is this guest?
"Uncle Marshall, do you know the name of the guest?"
Uncle Marshall shook his head: "I don’t know, but since the gentleman will arrive soon, won’t you know after Miss returns?"
Scarlett Yates frowned, showing an expression of reluctance.
She really didn’t want to help Noah entertain guests.
But she also understood that she didn’t have much choice right now. Noah’s so-called notification was merely to inform her, without giving her the option to refuse.
"Wait a moment."
Scarlett Yates wanted to go in to greet Matthew Saxon, even though she knew Matthew didn’t care whether she stayed or left.
As she pushed open Matthew Saxon’s bedroom door, his head lifted at just the right moment.
Then, the two locked eyes.
After a silent moment, Scarlett cleared her throat before speaking first, "I have to go back."
Upon hearing her say she had to go back, Matthew Saxon’s eyes flickered slightly, and he raised his eyebrow, oh-ing lightly.
He seemed quite indifferent.
At this point, Scarlett Yates should leave. She had said her goodbye, and he hadn’t uttered a word to hold her back. Why linger?
Though she felt a little disappointed inside, she held onto the door frame and softly said, "I’ll come see you tomorrow."
His eyelids lifted as he stared at her for a few seconds, smirked, and said, "If I told you I didn’t want to see you, and your absence would make me feel better, would you consider pleasing me and consenting to my request?"
Scarlett Yates’s expression stiffened, biting her lip, and after a moment, gritted her teeth, "No."
"Then just go," Matthew turned his gaze away from her, seemingly impatient, "If you’re leaving, leave quickly. Stop standing there like a post blocking all the light outside."
Scarlett bit her lip tighter.
It was broad daylight and the room was well-lit, yet he was still complaining she blocked the light.
Damn this man!
She clenched her fists, "Matthew Saxon, I’ll be here tomorrow at nine o’clock sharp."
"I’ve said many times, I don’t want to see you."
"I’ve also said many times, whether or not you wish to see me, I’ll come."
"Scarlett Yates, how can you be so thick-skinned."
"Same goes for you, say what you will; not only will I come tomorrow, but the day after, and the day after that. Whether you like it or not, I won’t change my mind."
"To be a woman like you—extreme even—having no dignity at all."
"What’s dignity, is it edible?"
"..."

After finishing a boring conversation, Scarlett Yates left the hospital.
Forty minutes later, she arrived at the old Yates Family residence.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, a maid was waiting there and immediately approached Scarlett Yates, saying, "Miss, sir said the guest is arriving very soon and wants me to help freshen you up."
Scarlett Yates frowned, "What’s there to freshen up? Aren’t I fine right now? Just who is this esteemed guest, that I even need to specifically groom to meet them?"
