Adventure is defined by movement. The party leaves somewhere, crosses territory the map does not cover, and the story is shaped by what the journey costs rather than by who wins a duel at the end. It is the oldest structure in the catalogue and the most forgiving one — episodic by nature, so a strong chapter can stand on its own even when the larger arc is still assembling itself.
In practice most adventure novels here are hybrids: adventure plus dungeon system, adventure plus isekai, adventure plus a slowly assembling cast. That is not dilution. The genre works as a spine that other genres hang off, which is why it appears in more genre lists than almost anything except fantasy. The sort options are worth playing against each other — newest surfaces the current wave of expedition and exploration stories, while the finished series are the ones that actually arrived somewhere.
