"Nice, in the arena the gap between us when we stand facing each other is almost 2m.
If he comes a little forward, I can instantly bind him. He couldn’t even notice when he got bound because I don’t need to move my chains.
There is still an hour left. I think I can also level up my Parry skill."
Aster used his Parry skill. A mana blade manifested to parry, but because there was nothing to actually parry, when Aster checked his system, the use was still 0/1000.
"So, Slash and Bind work on the training dummy so they level up, but there is no attack coming to parry. That’s why Parry is not leveling up. Looks like I couldn’t level up Parry for now. I’d better go to my room and recover my mana and stamina."
After one hour, everyone had already gathered in the duel hall. Everyone came and saw Adrian already standing in the arena, waiting for Aster to come.
Aster finally came carrying a greatsword, his hands wrapped with iron chains. The weight of these weapons was so heavy that Aster, with his skinny body and only 15 Attack, could barely walk while carrying them.
Aster entered from the entrance. Everyone was staring at him, and everyone gave their own comments.
"Is he nuts? Why would he choose a weapon we couldn’t even carry?"
"Seeing him carry that with his skinny body is like trying to fit the ocean into a bucket."
"And what’s with those chains?"
"I think he wanted to cosplay as a mafia or something. Sorry, but you failed with 0 marks."
Aster slowly walked with the greatsword on his back and chains around his arms.
Adrian looked at him with irritation and said, "I don’t know what you’re up to. But if you think doing this can make me laugh and I’ll forgive you, you’re wrong. Aster Vale, I challenge you to a duel for the final round."
"Yeah, yeah, I knew you’d say that. Wait, I’m coming into the arena," Aster said.
Aster slowly walked toward the arena, but he was walking too slowly.
"Even my grandpa can walk faster than that," a student said.
Aster finally reached the arena. Adrian and Aster stood facing each other.
Every student and the instructors, along with the General and Lyra, watched closely.
Aster brought out his greatsword from his back. He tried to hold it still but couldn’t lift it upward.
"Ahhh... Now I feel frustrated. What the hell is he doing?" a female student with pink hair in the crowd said.
"Yeah! Seems like this is going to be a boring match"
"The match is going to start in 3...2...1."
"Start!"
The moment the match started, Adrian activated his skill, Mana Pressure. Aster noticed that even though before he wasn’t able to lift the sword, now he couldn’t even move his muscles. But luckily, his skills activated with his mind.
Adrian thought Aster was stuck because of his skill, so he walked forward and said,
"When you blew away my sword from my hand, I thought you would be an outstanding opponent. But you turned out to be a joker, and now it makes me even angrier thinking you made me look like a fool," he said with an angry expression.
As soon as Adrian came within a 2m radius...
"Bind."
"Slash."
Adrian froze for one second, and a slash came toward him. But Adrian was quick enough to dodge it by moving his head. It only managed to slightly scratch his face.
Adrian took a step back.
"What?! When did he attack?"
Adrian ground his teeth.
He used Tempest Step and Lightning Draw together to instantly get in front of him and strike with his sword.
"Parry."
His attack was blocked by Parry.
Before Adrian could use Tempest Step again
"Bind."
"Slash."
His movement was hindered, and he got a slash on his shoulder.
"Slash."
Another slash was coming, but Adrian was free from Bind now, so he jumped and dodged it. But in midair, he was bound again and was hit by another Slash. This time he got knocked back, away from Aster’s range.
Everyone was shocked. They thought Aster was a joker, but now he wasn’t giving Adrian a chance to attack.
"Hey, I think he intentionally acted like that so we’d drop our guard," a student watching said.
"Right, right! If he couldn’t even carry that sword, how is he slashing so fast that I couldn’t even see him moving?"
"That was a great strategy. He first acted weak, making us drop our guard against him," a student with glasses said.
"You’re smarter than I thought. Alright, I acknowledge your smart thinking, but it won’t work now because I am getting serious," Adrian said.
"What the hell are they talking about? I can’t understand any of it," Aster thought with a confused expression.
Adrian used Tempest Step, but this time he was faster than before. He didn’t directly go for Aster. Instead, he appeared from multiple directions and randomly struck at Aster. Aster managed to parry all of it, but he could only cast one attack every second. Because of that, he could only keep parrying.
After some time, the situation didn’t change. So Aster did something no one expected, It was something obvious, yet no one had thought of it in that moment. He gripped the greatsword and used all of his strength to swing it once, right when Adrian was about to strike again.
And it worked.
Adrian thought Aster was already swinging his sword with great speed, so when he actually swung it for real, Adrian was caught off guard.
"Bind."
"Slash."
Adrian was sent flying into the air, but before he could fall
"Bind."
"Slash."
Aster kept using the combo, and Adrian was stuck in the air, getting slashed all over his body. Blood spilled from his wounds, covering him and the arena below him. The scene was very brutal.
The arena fell completely silent.
The students who had mocked Aster earlier stared at him with pale faces. Not a single person laughed anymore
The general was also shocked. The officer also watched with any expression.
Captain Lyra stepped in to stop Aster.
Adrian fall down when Aster stop binding him. He tried to stand up, but his wounds would let him stand.
The medical team was already ready, as they knew that one or two scenes like this would happen in the final round.
They were carrying Adrian. Aster looked at Adrian and felt a little guilty.
"I think... I overdid it. Maybe I should’ve stopped after the fifth slash... healing magic exist here right?"
The General Asked other "Anyone else want to challenge him?"
Everyone else was so scared after seeing this that no one challenged Aster afterward.
They all fought each other, and finally, the final round ended.
Aster dropped the Greatsword and said "Finally... I don’t have to carry this stupid sword anymore."
