Chapter 25: End of the Part 1

General Cassius laughed loudly. "HAHAHA! This kid never misses a chance to surprise me!" Saint Helena’s principal was left speechless.

The referee called for the next participant to enter the arena. The second student from Saint Helena Martial Art College stepped onto the stage.

The students of Saint Helena immediately began cheering.

"Kaelith! Kaelith! Kaelith!"

He stopped in front of Aster. The two stared at each other. Kaelith held his sword with both hands and took a fighting stance, while Aster simply leaned on his staff.

Name: Kaelith

Class: Voidblade

Weapon: Sword

The moment the referee started the match, Kaelith vanished from his position.

A black rift opened behind Aster. Kaelith emerged from it using Shadowstep Rift and immediately unleashed Rift Slash. His sword was coated in black aura as a massive crescent-shaped slash shot toward Aster.

Aster didn’t even look back.

"Grapple."

In an instant, he was pulled to the opposite corner of the arena. The black slash carved a deep line straight through the center of the arena.

The audience murmured.

"That was dangerous. Even if the chances were low, if that attack had hit Aster’s head, he might have died."

Standing at the corner of the arena, Aster manifested several invisible Strike attacks toward Kaelith.

Kaelith couldn’t see the attacks, but he had studied Aster beforehand. He knew he could be attacked at any moment.

"Void Shroud."

His entire body became covered in black aura and turned semi-transparent. The invisible strikes passed straight through him without dealing any damage.

Aster was surprised.

"What kind of broken skill is that? If I can’t damage him, how am I supposed to defeat him?" he thought.

Immediately...

Weakness: Cannot attack while in Void Shroud state.

Aster smiled.

"So while I can’t damage him, he can’t damage me either. Then I’ll just wait for him to attack."

Kaelith used Shadowstep Rift again and instantly appeared behind Aster.

The moment he raised his sword to use Rift Slash "Bind."

Kaelith was instantly restrained.

"As I expected, His class is focused on mobility and hit-and-run attacks. His Attack stat shouldn’t be very high." Aster thought

Before the bind expired Aster used Bind again

Then

"Strike. Strike. Strike."

The invisible attacks slammed into Kaelith one after another.

"Look! He’s getting yanked around just like Veyl! Looks like he’s done for! Hahaha!"

The audience had seen this scene so many times that they could already tell when Aster was about to win.

Soon, Kaelith fell unconscious.

The referee announced Aster as the winner.

The audience erupted into cheers once again.

Saint Helena’s principal looked extremely frustrated.

General Cassius and Broad River’s principal smirked.

"Kaelith was good."

"Yeah. His skills were very versatile. He could have won. Maybe today was just bad luck."

"You’re right, General. Hahaha."

Saint Helena’s principal gritted his teeth with a furious look and said.

"Aster..."

After Kaelith was carried away by the medical team, the next student stepped onto the stage.

Name: Isolde

Class: Phantom

The moment match began.

Isolde immediately activated Mirage Doppelgänger, creating four identical clones and scattered each clone to the four corners of the arena.

"Haha, caught you!"

Aster immediately launched a Strike at the real Isolde.

The moment Isolde realized Aster had identified the real one, he instantly activated his skill Veil of Whispers.

Just like Kaelith’s ability, the invisible strike passed right through him.

However, unlike Kaelith, Isolde could still attack while in this state, and his speed was greatly increased too.

Weakness: Duration: 60 seconds.

"So I can’t damage him for one minute... I guess I’ll just have to dodge."

Isolde rushed toward Aster.

Aster used Grapple to widen the distance between them.

But Isolde charged after him again with his enhanced speed.

Aster attempted to grapple away once more, but Isolde had already set up phantom threads along the path.

Aster’s arm was cut.

He could barely hold onto his staff.

Without hesitation, Aster summoned the Wind Edge Sword.

"Slash."

A five invisible slash manifested and cutted every thread apart.

Isolde tried to set up more threads.

"Slash."

They were cut apart again.

Finally, one minute passed.

Isolde returned to his normal form.

Aster was just about to bombard him with invisible strikes when Isolde suddenly raised both hands.

"I surrender."

Both Aster and the audience were surprised.

"I didn’t expect him to surrender so quickly," Aster thought.

"Hahaha! What a coward! He didn’t even have the guts to fight!" Adrian laughed.

Yor shook his head.

"No. This was their strategy. He was only bait. His job was to injure Aster as much as possible so the final student could finish him off."

Adrian frowned.

"What a bunch of cowards."

The final student from Saint Helena Martial Art College walked onto the stage.

The students cheered loudly.

"Zephyr! Zephyr! Zephyr!"

Others continued cheering for Aster.

The referee started the match.

Zephyr brought both hands together into a hand sign.

"Domain Expansion..."

"Tempest Domain."

Immediately, the atmosphere of the arena changed.

Dark clouds gathered overhead.

The wind became increasingly violent.

Zephyr smiled confidently.

"Aster, you’ve defeated three of my teammates. I admit you’re strong the strongest student I’ve ever seen. But your glory ends here. This is my domain. Inside it, your movement speed is reduced, mine is increased, you’ll constantly suffer lightning damage, and my Lightning Gale Slash becomes even stronger."

"Bind."

The bind sealed his mouth shut, making him unable to speak.

"You talk too much."

"Strike. Strike. Strike."

Before Zephyr could even finish speaking, invisible attacks repeatedly slammed into him.

The entire audience burst into laughter as Zephyr collapsed unconscious.

General Cassius and Broad River’s principal laughed as well.

Saint Helena’s principal covered his face in embarrassment.

"That idiot... I explained the plan to him so many times, yet he still ruined everything by talking."

The referee stepped onto the stage and raised his hand.

"The champion of Part One of the College Ranking Tournament is... Military Martial Art College!"
