Chapter 41: Discovery

"Will His Holiness give me a reward if I do that?" Olena asked, her face turning slightly red.

"A reward, or a punishment you mean?" Aiden replied, and a smile formed on Olena’s face as she jumped off the bed. Aiden watched the entire time as she picked her clothes off the ground till her breasts were out of sight.

Aiden’s cum was still all over her breasts, and her love juices were in her thighs; still she wore her clothing like that, covering all of them before bowing her head.

"Good night, Your Holiness... Again, I’m really sorry for my actions earlier today. I sincerely hope you can forgive me. I’ll be happy to work with you." Olena spoke, bowing her head even more.

Aiden nodded with a smile on his face as she pulled the door open and stepped outside. As she closed the door behind her, he got up and pulled the sheets off the bed, as they were soaked.

Aiden wrapped the sheets together and placed them on the ground near the bed. He pulled the wardrobe open. When he opened the wardrobe looking for something to punish Olena with earlier, he saw two pairs of sheets neatly folded, so he picked one of them.

*Knock!!*

"Come in," Aiden said as he heard the knock.

Miraleth stepped inside and quickly rushed towards Aiden to stop him from spreading the sheets. "Allow me, Your Holiness," She replied as Aiden backed away.

"I came to tell you I want to retire for the night. Should I bring you a late-night snack, fruits, juice, or milk before I leave?" Miraleth spoke.

"Milk? How is the milk preserved so it doesn’t go bad?" Aiden asked as the thought came to his mind. Not that he didn’t have ideas; since this world has magic, it would definitely bridge the gap between medieval and modern times in certain aspects, but he was curious.

"Inside the kitchen, there are two storerooms; one of them is used to preserve milk, meat, vegetables, fruits, and some medicinal herbs used to create potions," Miraleth replied without any thought.

She didn’t think to ask why Aiden, who had been a priest for over a year, would know something like that, but such thoughts didn’t cross her mind.

"Show me to the storeroom," Aiden said, and Miraleth nodded.

After laying down the sheets, she and Aiden made their way to the kitchen.

The kitchen was much larger than Aiden was expecting; it was almost as big as his living room on Earth. Long wooden tables stood in the middle of the room, while several stone stoves lined one side of the wall.

A few large pots still rested on top of them, while shelves filled with plates, bowls, cooking utensils, and spices covered another side of the room.

The room was sparkling clean as Miraleth watched Aiden look around with a smile. She had always liked her space extremely clean, and when she was brought here as a priestess, her cooking and cleaning were pretty much the only things the other priestesses liked about her.

At the far end of the kitchen were two thick wooden doors reinforced with iron bands. Miraleth walked up to the one on the left and pushed it open.

"This is the storeroom, Your Holiness," she said, and both of them stepped in.

The moment he stepped in, he noticed the difference almost immediately; it felt like he had stepped into a walk-in freezer.

Wooden shelves covered every wall from top to bottom; baskets filled with fresh fruits and vegetables were neatly arranged on one side.

On the other side, several pieces of fresh meat from different animals hung from iron hooks fixed to the top of the shelves, and then his eyes went towards the wall at the end of the room where he could see a crystal attached to the wall.

Aiden moved closer to the crystal as it was the source of the cold, and he could sense a large amount of mana inside the crystal.

The crystal was large and mounted on the wall. It glowed a soft blue light, while tiny white mist slowly drifted from its surface.

’Magic is truly the solution for everything. This world is so worth exploring; I can’t wait to get those spells and see the world for myself’

Miraleth saw Aiden staring at the crystal and spoke, "This is an ice crystal; it comes from the ice elemental"

"Tell me about this crystal. I wasn’t really interested in things like this," Aiden said so he wouldn’t seem off, but Miraleth couldn’t care less; she was happy Aiden was with her, having a good time.

"Unlike ordinary mana crystals, crystals taken from elementals retain part of the elemental’s natural affinity, and as long as mana is supplied to it, it continues releasing mana into the walls and the room"

"With the elemental in mind, builders fashioned this storeroom to maximize its ability"

"So it works forever as long as it has a constant mana supply?" Aiden asked, but Miraleth shook her head.

"The crystal weakens over the years, and eventually loses its power completely. At that point it needs to be replaced with another crystal"

Aiden nodded, "So only ice elemental drop crystals like this?"

"Yes," Miraleth replied. "Other magical beasts leave behind mana crystals, but only elementals leave crystals that keep the properties of their element. But those properties can be replicated, as we have fire crystals for cooking, but for storing food, the ice elemental crystal is more effective, so it is used"

"Hmmm..." Aiden mumbled with a smile as he turned around, looked at the shelves, then his eyes went to the milk at the bottom of the shelves.

"I wonder how humans in this world discovered cow milk could be drunk," Aiden spoke as he turned to Miraleth.

"Cow milk? Milk from animals isn’t drinkable," Miraleth replied, and Aiden’s eyes widened a little.

"Then how is milk gotten?" Aiden asked.

"From cow women, Your Holiness"
