Chapter 173: Tons of Spoils [20 GT Bonus - ]

6 min read

A while later, Leon left Marie’s room while she digested her own skills and class information, feeling pleased with himself.

They had chosen a special class, and her future path was definitely not going to be ordinary.

’Although Selene should have packed up the rewards, I can’t be too sure,’ He frowned faintly. ’Besides, I should check if any of those corpses are still intact. The bones would be useful.’

With these thoughts in mind, Leon gave a few orders to Nicolas, then left the camp under the man’s strange gaze.

’Yeah, he must be praying I don’t bring any bad luck upon the camp again, right?’

Leon was amused by the thought, but felt a little perplexed. Wasn’t his luck too bad? The first time he entered the forest, he had fought that Tier One panther, and ended up with Marie being injured.

The second time, he ran into the Tier Two Frost Serpent, almost getting frozen by the beast’s final attack.

The third time...

He held his breath as he observed the area before him. The ground was cracked, with no signs of green life, as if the soil had been stripped bare.

’It was this destructive?’

With the half wyvern corpse at the center, an 800-meter radius around it was a desolate land. If someone told him that a missile had landed here, Leon would have believed it.

In his heart, he quietly swore not to use the Dark Matter skill unless it was absolutely necessary.

With that thought settled, his attention was drawn to the strange metallic club on the ground. This had been wielded by the mutated gorilla yesterday, and Leon had personally witnessed how impressive the weapon was.

’Unfortunately, I can’t even wield it.’

Even both of his hands couldn’t wrap around the handle. Clicking his tongue, Leon touched the surface of the weapon, then sent it into his storage ring.

He’d deal with it later.

Naturally, he swept up the scattered pieces of broken bones on the ground, not willing to leave any behind. If they could be shaped into weapons, then it would be awesome.

Finally, he turned toward his personal prize—the wyvern’s corpse.

Leon carefully walked around it, examining it inch by inch. Even though it was clearly dead, it still radiated an oppressive feeling of danger. To his surprise, the wyvern had no ability or traits at all, which left him feeling a bit cheated. Still, he wasn’t discouraged.

’The scales are precious, the meat is precious, and even the bones are precious. This is a damned treasure chest.’

Leon broke into a wide, greedy smile as he stared at the corpse like it was gold.

Unfortunately—or fortunately—he could only get half of the corpse. The other half had been obliterated by his attack. This also allowed him to squeeze it into his storage ring without having to pull out the club.

’Ah... the gains are really worth it. I survived, and we’ve got this.’

Taking a deep breath, he searched the battlefield for any signs of scrolls or treasure cubes, but found none.

’I guess Selene already took them. That’s a relief.’

Suddenly, as he turned, he caught a glimpse of an emerald figure in the distance. Instantly, his expression brightened as he recognized it.

Right! They had come to the forest for a reason, after all!

The Star Wheel!

Unlike the Equipment Star Wheel which was yellow in color, this one was green. Leon rushed to its location, and immediately touched the surface of the large wheel.

[Bronze Resource Star Wheel]

["Fortune favors only those worthy of destiny."]

[Owner: None]

[Limited Draws: 100/100]

[Description: A gambling wheel created by the Star Stream to grant a chance at obtaining a special and unique material, or... a piece of crap]

Leon’s lips twitched at the familiar description, then he began to think properly.

’Resources... what kind of resources?’

Curious, he decided to play once. Besides, he needed to play once to become its true owner.

The moment the soul crystal disappeared into the hole, the wheel began to spin. Leon stared hard, as if he wanted to use his gaze to lock onto a particular image on the wheel.

Fifteen seconds later, the wheel finally slowed to a crawl.

[Congratulations! You have received a Slime Metal]

[You are the first being to try your luck!]

[Rejoice! You have been granted a chance to own this artifact.]

[Do you accept?]

’First things first.’

Leon immediately took ownership of the Star Wheel, then looked at the liquid metal in his hands.

[Slime Metal]

[Rank: Tier One]

[Enchantment: Can expand infinitely as long as it is fed with Tier One Soul Crystals]

[Description: A common material used to build homes and cities in Phase 1 Evolution worlds]

’Oh?’ Leon’s eyes shone as he read the enchantment and description, amazed by the use of this strange metal.

’Expand infinitely?’ His eyes narrowed. He subconsciously pictured the camp walls covered by it, then shook his head.

Although he was curious, he wasn’t going to start experimenting here. He kept the silver slime metal in his storage ring, then turned back to the wheel.

[Bronze Resource Star Wheel]

["Fortune favors only those worthy of destiny."]

[Owner: Leonel Wayne]

[Limited Draws: 99/100]

[Description: A gambling wheel created by the Star Stream to grant a chance at obtaining a special and unique material, or... a piece of crap]

’Good. I already have two wheels under my control. If I can get more, that would be great.’

Although he was tempted to continue, he didn’t want to waste soul crystals. Besides, if he got something huge, where would he even put it?

His storage ring was already full, and there was nothing he could do about it. Reluctantly, he turned around and headed back to the camp, determined to return later with a few trucks. Something was telling him that he might need them.

For now, the Star Wheel could wait.

Leon killed a few beasts on his way back, but didn’t even bother to take their corpses with him. It wasn’t like the camp was lacking in mutated beast meat.

When he reached the camp, the first thing he did was to ask Nicolas to help him prepare a separate warehouse, where he could keep the wyvern’s corpse and metallic club.

While the man was busy with that, Leon returned to the villa, and his eyes lit up when he realized Selene was now awake.

’Let’s check our spoils!’
