As soon as they got out of the car, the butler came over with a beaming smile. "Young Master, Mister and Madam have already been waiting for quite some time."
Sophie Sullivan’s hand stopped where she was rubbing her forehead. What had she just heard?
Her suspicious gaze slid to the man beside her. Thomas Shannon was holding back a smile as he lowered his voice. "My father and mother are both here. Let’s go say hi, hmm?"
Sophie Sullivan turned around and walked off.
What "go say hi"? He’d clearly come prepared and tricked her into coming back!
Seeing her get in the car, Thomas Shannon followed immediately. He stretched out his hand, wanting to touch her soft cheek, but she slapped him away in disgust. "Don’t touch me, you liar!"
"Fennie, weren’t you the one complaining before that I wouldn’t let you meet my father? Now my father and mother are both here, I’m letting you meet them properly, okay?"
Sophie Sullivan slanted him a sidelong glare. "Who wants to formally meet your parents?"
"You."
"Get lost!" Sophie Sullivan shoved at him, trying to push him out of the car.
Thomas Shannon didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and just let her make a fuss. After a good while, when she got tired and the strength in her hands was almost drained, he finally pulled her into his embrace.
He rested his chin on the top of her head, rubbing against her intimately. "Fennie, I want you to know I’m serious."
"..."
"You already took me to meet your Daddy and Mommy. Now I have to take you to meet my father and mother too."
"..."Shameless! Who took him to see Daddy and Mommy? He’d clearly been the one stubbornly insisting on going.
"My father and mother are already waiting. Let’s go in first, okay?"
"..."
"Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
"..."
"Sophie Sullivan, if you still don’t say anything, I’ll take that as you agreeing."
"Screw you!" Who agreed!
Her face was clearly screaming a giant NO, how was that agreeing!
"Be good, Fennie, just go meet them. If you don’t like it, I’ll take you upstairs to rest, okay?"
"Not going." Sophie Sullivan stubbornly refused.
The smile at the corner of Thomas Shannon’s mouth froze, and his handsome face turned completely dark. "Not going?"
"I said I’m not going, so I’m not going."
"You won’t see my father and mother, but you’ll see Lucifer’s father and mother. Sophie Sullivan, do you want to marry Lucifer?"
"Thomas Shannon, you’re being unreasonable!"
"Fine, I’m being unreasonable. Come in with me to see my father and mother, hmm?" Thomas Shannon took her hand, trying to pull her out of the car.
Sophie Sullivan kicked him, her beautiful eyes glaring at him. "Thomas Shannon, let go of me, I’m not going!"
"It’s not up to you!" Thomas Shannon was dead set on having her meet James Shannon and Mrs. Shannon. They were already at the doorway of the home; how could he allow her to back out now?
Sophie Sullivan was dragged along by him and growled anxiously, "Have you forgotten what happened last time?"
Thomas Shannon was stunned, staring at her in confusion.
"Last time I answered your mother’s telephone and asked her to help save me," Sophie Sullivan said viciously, her voice still full of anger toward him.
Thomas Shannon thought for a bit before remembering that last time she’d been locked up in the Military Base, trying every possible way to escape.
One of those attempts had been picking up his mother’s telephone and begging his mother to help her run away.
Thomas Shannon’s eye color softened. He raised his hand and pinched her cheek, only for Sophie Sullivan to slap him away in disgust. "Stop pawing at me."
"Fennie, are you stupid? It’s normal for boyfriend and girlfriend to bicker. My mother won’t take it to heart, don’t worry."
"She might not, but I will."
Thomas Shannon: "..."
He actually had nothing to say.
Rubbing his forehead in frustration, Thomas Shannon lifted his eyelids and asked, "Then what do you want?"
