Though taciturn, he is absolutely a gentleman, never as unpredictable as Thomas Shannon, whose anger feels as if it could cause a cosmic explosion.
He simply must destroy the heavens and the earth.
Sophie Sullivan is well aware of her own character, and thus understands even more clearly that only Liam Donald’s character is a complement to hers.
She and Thomas Shannon are like two dangerous elements.
Upon hearing this, Thomas Shannon simply chuckled softly, laced with a hint of teasing, "Fennie, do you really think you’re being serious?"
Sophie Sullivan nodded matter-of-factly, "Of course I think I am serious."
"Alright, then tell me, what are your intentions with Liam?"
Sophie Sullivan’s expression immediately darkened; it was evident she did not wish to discuss Liam at this time.
The reason, perhaps, was known only to her.
"Are you dissolving the engagement, or continuing this ambiguous entanglement?"
"Thomas Shannon, you’re doing it again..." Sophie Sullivan rubbed her forehead, "Can we not talk about this?"
"Fine." Thomas Shannon suppressed his anger and released her.
He raised his hand to undo two shirt buttons, leaned back in his chair, and fell silent.
Sophie Sullivan looked outside the car window, recalling that day she returned from the cemetery and had another nightmare.
In the dream, her daddy told her she was the heir to the Onassis Family, her duty was to uphold the family’s honor.
Thinking it through, she decided not to expose what Andres and Isabel had done to her.
The honor of the Onassis Family she would guard herself, meaning she would quietly handle Andres and Isabel.
Returning from her reverie, Sophie Sullivan realized this wasn’t the road back to the manor, and quickly turned her head, "Thomas Shannon, where are you taking me?"
"Back to the hotel."
"I want to go back to the manor."
Thomas Shannon snorted coldly; it would depend on whether he was willing to let her return.
Clearly, she was his woman; why should she live in another man’s manor?
"..."
"Thomas Shannon, did you hear me?"
"..."
Sophie Sullivan turned to the man in black driving, "Pull over, I want to get out."
The man in black glanced at his young master’s gloomy face in the rearview mirror, dared not make a sound, much less heedlessly pull over.
Sophie Sullivan was infuriated, moved onto Thomas Shannon’s legs, and fiercely clutched his neck, demanding, "Thomas Shannon, let me out."
"Who is Thomas Shannon to you?" Thomas Shannon lazily raised his eyes to look at her.
Her frantic appearance, to him, was the most adorable.
Teasing her was far more entertaining than teasing Harry.
Sophie Sullivan was stumped for words. Who was he to her, didn’t he know?
"Speak." Thomas Shannon slapped her pony rump with his hand.
"You guess." Sophie Sullivan took ages to squeeze out those two words.
Thomas Shannon’s eyes deepened, her perfunctory manner displeased him greatly, but he wasn’t going to do anything harsh to her.
She seemed innately rebellious; the more harshly she was treated, the greater her urge to resist.
Thomas Shannon nudged her, "Get down."
"I’m not getting off." Sophie Sullivan remained seated on his legs, refusing to get down, and her hand squeezing his neck turned into circling it, "Let me out."
"Do you think that’s possible, Miss Sullivan?"
"Call me Miss Cecilia." Sophie Sullivan raised her delicate chin arrogantly, her spirited little manner was utterly haughty.
"Well then, does Miss Cecilia want to return home?"
Home?
The Onassis Old Castle?
Sophie Sullivan nodded honestly; she certainly wanted to return home.
