Chapter 50

AFTERWORD For those of you who have been reading one book at a time, it’s good to see you again. For those who bought all the books at once, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Kazuma Kamachi. New Testament has reached its third volume! This time, the story is set on the Hawaiian Islands. I placed a little bit of a limitation on how things were shown to the reader, which should remind you of a certain gimmick. The key occult concept here was the spell for controlling people. But just as the characters pointed out in the story, there’s never been an occult concept that took so much investigation. Even if a caster could make people act on their command, I think it’s pretty vague whether that’s actually because of something magical or if it was a trick all along, planned out in advance. It’s sort of like claiming a dog can do mental math. In terms of remnants of World War III, we have Russia first and foremost. The Russian Catholic Church links to fairies and spirits, but I wasn’t sure if going for something like Lorelei, for example, would be too on the nose. After some research, I came across Leshy. Like other fae, Leshy is terrifying in one way—he wouldn’t hesitate to kill a person—but oddly charming in another. Besides that, Cendrillon is just casually part of the same system as Vasilisa in the Russian Church. Maybe that’s worth checking out, too. I also threw in some real effective countermeasures to Imagine Breaker. The people who showed up at the very end are obviously of a different type from the Russians, which I think was clear enough to you, the reader. I’d like to thank the illustrator, Haimura, and the editor, Miki. I know this must have been an annoying story with the sheer number of characters involved. Thank you so much for sticking with me for this long. I’d also like to thank all my readers. I can only write such annoying stories because you all give us your energy and allow me to do so. Thank you all so much. Now then, as you close the pages, and as I pray you will open the pages again next time, here and now, I lay down my pen. Oh, hey. A magic god’s name finally showed up. Kazuma Kamachi
