Putting the scales away, he looked at the scattered flesh and corpses again, with more seriousness in his eyes.
"Could this be a Wild Beast?"
Zhang Xiaoman secretly speculated in his heart.
If there was anything in this universe that could harm Ni Yang besides that Demon Lord, a Wild Beast might be the only possibility.
Wild Beast is a term for those powerful creatures in the stars, not referring to a specific group. Generally, to be called a Wild Beast, one must have strength around the level of a Peak Lower God. Although Middle-level God Wild Beasts are rare, they do exist. The Aigus Divine Domain records a Middle-level God Wild Beast, although it hasn’t been seen for hundreds of thousands of years, Zhang Xiaoman believes that it is likely operating somewhere in the universe.
Thinking about the strength of Wild Beasts, he now has some speculation on why Ni Yang was injured. However, the crisis doesn’t seem to be resolved as Ni Yang continues moving forward. Zhang Xiaoman speculates that there might be more than one Wild Beast nearby. The opponent of the previous battle where Ni Yang used All Things Replacement was likely also a powerful Wild Beast.
As the saying goes, when something strange happens, there’s usually a demon involved. It’s usually very difficult to encounter even one Wild Beast, but now it seems like there might be two, which makes Zhang Xiaoman’s ominous feeling grow stronger.
Scanning the Wild Beast corpses scattered in the void, he rotated his palm, and Dark Spiritual Power started moving the corpse fragments. Zhang Xiaoman planned to restore the appearance of this Wild Beast using the Magic Technique.
As he exercised his Ability, countless chunks arranged themselves in a specific trajectory, eventually forming a giant whale-like monster.
"Kun?"
Zhang Xiaoman instinctively said, as the sheer size of this monster reminded him of that legendary creature.
Of course, it can’t be Kun, as the opponent is definitely a Wild Beast, with a body size rivaling the Galaxy. The entire Solar System is barely as large as one of its claws.
Even as a corpse, such a massive creature imposes an unparalleled sense of oppression.
Zhang Xiaoman took a deep breath, his eyes gazing towards the direction Ni Yang was heading.
It’s hard to imagine how intense the battle between Ni Yang and the opponent was, as a creature like this was torn into pieces. Ni Yang’s power is truly terrifying.
While pondering, the giant creature’s corpse suddenly moved slightly, its fin flicked. Despite being very faint, Zhang Xiaoman caught that fleeting motion.
"Not good!"
He was shocked into a cold sweat and immediately reacted.
He clasped his hands and pulled them fiercely to the sides, exerting Primordial Power to simulate life structure detachment, applying all Attributes on the Wild Beast.
The next moment, the previously slightly revived giant Wild Beast disintegrated into countless fragments again, dying completely.
"Huff, puff~"
Zhang Xiaoman panted lightly; the sudden occurrence was so unexpected that even he was greatly startled.
"What happened? Why did this monster suddenly revive?"
His expression was somewhat unpleasant.
Initially, he only meant to restore the opponent’s appearance to see what the Wild Beast looked like. Maybe the Star Alliance’s database might have records.
But who could have thought that as soon as Zhang Xiaoman completed stitching the opponent’s body, it suddenly revived.
It wasn’t that he underestimated the enemy; he had considered this before acting.
While at the Middle Extraordinary Level, it’s generally impossible to be killed, Zhang Xiaoman knew that Ni Yang should be capable of completely defeating the opponent.
Because Ni Yang possessed the Master of Destruction Ring given by Zhang Xiaoman, whose trait is that it prevents self-healing of the attacked targets, effective against entities that control the Immortal and Immortal Series.
Thus, Zhang Xiaoman believed the Wild Beast before him should be completely dead, and acting as he did shouldn’t pose much risk.
But, contrary to expectations, the monster’s sudden revival caught him off guard. Fortunately, the monster was still in a dying state, with its Strength at the lowest level. Coupled with his swift reaction, he promptly used Primordial Power to disassemble it again, preventing its successful revival.
Feeling the aura of those corpses, Zhang Xiaoman confirmed this time the opponent was entirely dead. Having prepared adequately, he reassembled the Kun’s corpse for the second time, and as he anticipated, the Wild Beast didn’t show any movement.
Storing the corpse in the Original Realm, Zhang Xiaoman stroked his chin, deep in thought.
"The monster couldn’t revive, which means my Master of Destruction Ring is effective. It was killed after its first revival, hence it died completely."
"But, Ni Yang clearly possesses Master of Destruction Ability too. Why wasn’t the Wild Beast it killed affected? Could it be..."
Zhang Xiaoman’s eyes widened; a terrifying thought emerged in his mind.
"Master of Destruction Ring... became ineffective!?"
He took a deep breath; this was the first time he encountered such a situation. Historically, tools produced by the System never failed, and in his eyes, they were practically intertwined with Rule-level Skills.
But recently, events surrounding Ni Yang have been too bizarre, from the previously greyed-out name in the gang list to the current passive failure of the Master of Destruction. These incidents made Zhang Xiaoman tense.
Admittedly, he always understood that even with a System, one shouldn’t overly rely on it. The System’s origin is mysterious; although its displayed Rule Powers are formidable, the source is unknown. For such unexplained phenomena, Zhang Xiaoman always believed they shouldn’t be fully trusted.
It’s not about doubting the System, but rather gradually treating it as an auxiliary tool. Over the decades, Zhang Xiaoman always prioritized improving his own cultivation. Only his own Strength is the safest, without worries of complete failure one day.
Fortunately, his feared situation hasn’t occurred yet. Even facing Ni Yang’s attacks, the Invincible Little Golden Man can block them, and not to mention the North Star Ring’s various Ni Tian passives.
Under such circumstances, Zhang Xiaoman momentarily eased; the System is still very reliable. At least to the Middle Transcendent Peak, the Abilities it provides are pure and undiluted.
But now, the unbreakable Rule-level Ability seems to have been shattered, with Ni Yang’s Master of Destruction Ring losing its effect, shocking Zhang Xiaoman greatly.
"It can’t be ruled out that Ni Yang removed the ring. At least my North Star Ring is still effective, so the situation might not be as bad as imagined."
Zhang Xiaoman carefully contemplated; feeling the whole incident is still shrouded in Mist. His speculation might not be accurate, although this possibility is low. But perhaps Ni Yang simply removed the ring. Without the ring, it naturally can’t prevent the Wild Beast’s self-healing.
"Fortunately, according to the current Tracking Ball display, I’m very close to Ni Yang. At most, a few more days, and I can catch up with it."
Feeling some solace, all events will be clear once he finds Ni Yang.
With this thought, Zhang Xiaoman observed the clones’ situation with his mind. It’s almost there; these clones are indeed formidable, inheriting all of his body’s Energy. At least in terms of Dark Speed rushing, they aren’t much weaker than himself.
