Chapter 2030: Seeking Immortality at the Yellow Springs (3)

6 min read

Pu Minghan personally welcomed Chuzheng inside, surprising quite a few people.

At this moment, Chuzheng followed Pu Minghan upstairs. Those trailing behind him were unaware and could only think that this young girl looked so small.

The clothes were ordinary, yet the demeanor was extraordinary.

Seeing Pu Minghan’s attitude, they dared not be overly dismissive.

"Miss Chuzheng, what brings you here this time?"

"I’m looking for Pu Zicheng."

"Pu Zicheng? Isn’t he the child of his second brother? Why has she personally come here to find him..."

Could it be that he did something to offend her?

Pu Minghan broke into a cold sweat in an instant.

"Miss Chuzheng, if the younger generation has offended you in some way..."

"No, I’m just here to see him." Chuzheng interrupted Pu Minghan.

"Oh, I see..." Pu Minghan was uncertain, still suspecting something had happened to provoke her visit.

Pushing down his doubts, Pu Minghan quickly added, "Just in time, the kid is here too. Shall I call him over for you?"

Chuzheng: "You can take me to see him."

"Sure, sure, please come this way."

-

Pu Zicheng is already twenty-six this year, and considered a successful, quality man.

Such a man attracts women the most, yet Pu Zicheng seems uninterested in these women.

"Zicheng, even your younger brother is married, when will you get married?" A friend winked at Pu Zicheng, "So many girls here today, yet you haven’t taken a liking to any of them?"

Pu Zicheng laughed and shook his head, "You know I’m not interested in them."

"Oh wow, Zicheng, you aren’t into men, are you?" Another friend said jokingly with an exaggerated expression.

"I’m into you," Pu Zicheng replied in jest.

"No, no, I still prefer girls."

As the few joked around, one noticed upstairs, nudging Pu Zicheng with an elbow, "Zicheng, look over there, isn’t your third uncle watching you?"

Pu Zicheng followed his friend’s gaze.

What caught his eye first was not Pu Minghan.

But the young girl beside him.

"I’m going to the restroom." Pu Zicheng walked off, ignoring the calls of his friends behind.

Out of sight, he exhaled the breath he had been holding, glancing back.

No one followed.

Pu Zicheng didn’t recognize the young girl, yet instinctively felt danger, urging him to leave quickly.

-

Upstairs.

Pu Minghan watched Pu Zicheng hurriedly leave and immediately looked at Chuzheng, "Miss Chuzheng, would you like me to call him up?"

"No need." Chuzheng pulled a palm-sized incense from her pocket and handed it to Pu Minghan, "Light this incense while he’s here, no need to thank me."

Panic-stricken, Pu Minghan accepted it hesitantly, "Miss Chuzheng, about Zicheng..."

Pu Minghan had met Chuzheng a bit over five years ago, after his son took a trip and returned with peculiar behavior.

It was as if he harbored malice towards everyone in the family, but also acted normally at times.

After hospital check-ups revealed nothing, friends and family suggested his son might have encountered something evil.

Initially, he didn’t believe it.

Yet seeing his son remain untreated, as a father, Pu Minghan had no choice but to try.

Those so-called masters came and the situation stabilized.

But soon enough, the condition worsened.

Finally, introduced by a friend, he met Miss Chuzheng.

Having been through it before, Pu Minghan couldn’t trust such a young girl.

When he went, the girl was busy packing things, coolly uttered "oh" after hearing him, and directed him to help pack.

The previous masters he met were high and mighty, surrounded by attendants.

Encountering such a strange one, Pu Minghan didn’t know why on a whim, he agreed.

Once packed, the girl clapped her hands, pulled a contract from under the counter, and asked him to sign.

The shocking part was the contract concerned lifespan.

In that moment, Pu Minghan didn’t grasp much since his friend advised against asking and to follow instructions.

But this lifespan...

Pu Minghan didn’t dare sign until he phoned his friend.

That side said one or two years of life, is it not worth exchanging for your son’s life?

If it could truly save his son, of course it was worth it!

After signing the contract, he didn’t feel any physical issue, and afterwards his son actually recovered.

And now she’s given him such incense...

Could there be a problem with Pu Zicheng?

"Miss Chuzheng, has Zicheng also been haunted..."

Chuzheng: "Mr. Pu, we live in a scientific era now. I hope you will believe in science, not superstition."

Pu Minghan: "..."

How can someone running an incense and candle shop speak so righteously!!

Can what he experienced be explained by science?

Pu Minghan: "Miss Chuzheng, is Zicheng like my son?"

"Not the same."

"Huh?"

How was it different?

Chuzheng spoke ambiguously, "My condolences."

Pu Minghan: "..."

Pu Minghan wanted to ask Chuzheng for details, but she had no intention of speaking further, and this time she didn’t ask for reward.

All Pu Minghan could do was carefully escort her out.

Holding the incense, Pu Minghan anxiously sent someone to find Pu Zicheng.

-

Not long after Chuzheng left, someone discovered Second Miss Xing trapped, with her evening gown gone, looking utterly miserable.

Second Miss Xing, seething with anger, was directly sent to the hospital.

However, as she was discovered like this, it wasn’t surprising rumors spread rampant.

These words reached Second Miss Xing’s ears, infuriating her to the point of nearly needing rescue again.

The culprit Chuzheng remained ignorant of these incidents, having just finished visiting the third person.

She didn’t plan to go to any more.

It was almost certain that at least a portion had been inhabited by unknown beings.

Since their rescue, their bodies were no longer their own.

Everyone visiting that hospital were not ordinary people; unknown entities inhabiting them... what were they aiming for?

Wanting to dominate the world with this method?

Seems even plausible...

If this continues unchecked, these unknown entities might seize top people and inhabit them, it could truly happen.

Chuzheng just felt exhausted.

Why can’t these entities just stay hidden peacefully? They had to jump out, thinking I’m dead or something?!

"Master, head back?" A robot peeked its head out from the pocket, asking in a childlike tone.

"Let’s go."

Consulting Liu Zhong about the disposal problem.

Chuzheng instructed the robot, "First organize the list of hospital patients from the last three years."

Robot: "Hmm. I’m also very tired from running."

Chuzheng: "Do you need my help shutting down?"

Robot: "..." Actually, no need.
