Chapter 2028: Inquiry of Immortal Fate at the Yellow Springs (Part 1)

Xing Family Estate.

Everyone in the room was staring at the two game pods.

Since Chuzheng went in, the originally displayed screen disappeared. The game pod showed as "in-game," so they could only watch like this.

No one dared to leave; they stood quietly in the room waiting.

Time passed second by second; everyone was a bit tired, yet still, no one left.

Su Tiyue glanced at Xing Qiao sitting beside the game pod and walked over.

"Xing Qiao."

Xing Qiao responded seriously, "Uncle Su."

Su Tiyue patted his head, "Can I ask you a question?"

Xing Qiao nodded.

"Why did you call Miss Chuzheng your master earlier?" God knows how big his internal shock was when he heard this.

Xing Qiao: "She told me to call her that."

"..." Su Tiyue processed this himself, "Did she accept you as a disciple?"

Xing Qiao thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes."

Su Tiyue: "..."

Is it that I haven’t woken up properly today?

That solitary woman would accept someone as a disciple?

"Why did she accept you as a disciple?"

Xing Qiao went silent, then shook his head, "Can’t say."

Su Tiyue frowned for a moment, then relaxed and patted Xing Qiao’s head, not probing further.

The time on the big screen had already passed thirty-six hours, but the people inside still hadn’t emerged, causing the crowd to become restless.

Could something have happened?

It’s been such a long time, why haven’t they come out yet?

"Try forcibly awakening them?" someone suggested.

They didn’t want their President Xing to fail to be found, and lose another person in the process ... Moreover, this person doesn’t seem ordinary.

"Let’s try it."

Ruan Liang led two people forward, preparing to forcibly remove the person from the game.

But they quickly discovered that the forced awakening function was not working.

"..."

The room fell into an eerie dead silence.

Beep—

In the midst of this silence, the light strip along the edge of Chuzheng’s game pod flickered, accompanied by a ’beep’ signaling the game pod was about to open.

Everyone in the room focused their gaze simultaneously on the game pod.

The pod door slowly opened, and the person inside sat up.

Chuzheng stood up, meeting the gaze of so many people, almost making her want to lie back down.

What’s this?

A ceremonial staring session?

Have I kicked the bucket?

"Miss Chuzheng." Hu Shuo was the first to react, swiftly striding to the game pod, "Are you alright?"

Once Hu Shuo spoke, the weird atmosphere in the room was broken, and the air began to circulate again.

Xing Qiao also ran over but didn’t say anything, just looked at her.

Chuzheng propped herself on the game pod and jumped out, her tone indifferent, "I’m fine."

Ruan Liang and the other technicians gathered around.

"Miss Chuzheng, how is the situation in the game? Did you encounter our President Xing?"

Chuzheng glanced around, facing everyone’s expectant gaze, she said three words: "I’m hungry."

"..."

-

After finishing her meal, Chuzheng briefly recounted her experiences in the game, while a group of people recorded fervently.

This scene somewhat resembled the delivery of a speech by a national leader.

"That’s about it ... Anyway, no matter what method I used, the person I found couldn’t remember anything." I’ve already tried my best.

Chuzheng paused, not entirely assured, "Are you sure there’s no issue with the map?"

Ruan Liang wanted to guarantee it, but considering the current state of the game wasn’t as he thought.

Finally, Ruan Liang gave a cautious reply, "I need to check it again."

"Oh."

"At least we can enter the game now, which is good news, everyone, don’t lose heart!" As a leader, Hu Shuo couldn’t speak discouraging words at this time.

After Hu Shuo’s speech, everyone’s confidence seemed to have returned a bit.

Ruan Liang took his team to verify the issues Chuzheng mentioned, leaving the room instantly empty.

"Master, did you see my uncle?"

The face of Xing Qiao, which was quite stern, showed implicit anticipation.

"If what they say is accurate, then I probably did see him." Considering my Good Person Card, if it really is their President Xing.

Xing Qiao bit his lip, "Is he okay?"

"...I guess he’s okay."

Xing Qiao lowered his head, the usual cold demeanor faded away, replaced by a more childlike manner.

Once Chuzheng and Xing Qiao finished speaking, Su Tiyue courteously approached, "Miss Chuzheng, I have something I want to ask you, can we have a word?"

"What is there to say between us?" Chuzheng promptly refused, "Not going."

Su Tiyue looked at Xing Qiao, "Xing Qiao, could you step out for a moment?"

Xing Qiao glanced at Su Tiyue, then at his master. He nodded and left with the others.

As the door closed, Su Tiyue straightforwardly asked, "Miss Chuzheng, why did you accept Xing Qiao as a disciple?"

"What business is it of yours?"

"Xing Qiao calls me uncle, and so does Xing Jue. If I don’t inquire about anything, what will I tell Xing Jue later?" Letting Xing Qiao go onto Wenxian Road already makes him feel he’s letting Xing Jue down.

That place shouldn’t have involved Xing Qiao at all, he is still just a child.

"You’re not his father." Chuzheng’s expression was cold.

"He’s still young..." Su Tiyue took a deep breath, "Miss Chuzheng, why did you involve him?"

"Su Tiyue." Chuzheng addressed him by his full name, her tone icy and sharp, "He’s the chosen one, I can’t decide his future."

Su Tiyue’s understanding of Wenxian Road was still lacking.

He didn’t really know what Chuzheng meant by "chosen one" and how it compared to those from Wenxian Road.

"The path is his own choice, the best I can do is teach him everything that can keep him alive. Speaking to me now won’t change anything; his name is already on the contract, which he agreed to willingly, I can’t force him. The Wenxian Road contract doesn’t require me to explain it to you further, right?"

Su Tiyue understood some.

But not very much.

Just knew the contract had multiple types, but each contract had strong binding power.

Once broken, there would be punishment.

The contract must be willingly signed by the contractor, otherwise, it wouldn’t go into effect—this point Su Tiyue was quite aware of.

"Sorry, I got carried away with my emotions."

Su Tiyue briefly calmed down; it’s impossible to remain absolutely calm when personal matters are involved.

Xing Qiao could be considered as someone he watched grow up.

This child was somewhat precocious, not quite like other children.

But his age was undeniable.

In their eyes, he’s just a child.

Letting a child be in danger wasn’t something he wished to see.

Chuzheng gave him a cold glance, stood up, ready to leave.

"Miss Chuzheng..."

Chuzheng paused slightly, impatiently, "What else is there."

Su Tiyue solemnly stated, "Xing Qiao is still young, please protect him more, Miss Chuzheng..."

Entering this world, dangers lurk everywhere.

"You don’t need to teach me this."

Chuzheng hurled this sentence, slammed the door, and left.

Su Tiyue rubbed his brow, ultimately didn’t learn why she accepted Xing Qiao as her disciple.
