Chapter 1979: Feeding Rules (20)

8 min read

Chuzheng gathered her underlings, expanding her territory towards the west side of the city, and expanded her team of underlings as well.

The main storyline progress had reached twenty percent, one step closer to success!

I can do it!

As night fell, Chuzheng strolled back to the neighborhood. At this time, quite a few people had finished their meals and were out for a stroll. Upon seeing Chuzheng, both children and girls wanted to come over and pet her.

However, since Chuzheng had been coming in and out of the neighborhood frequently, everyone knew her owner was a particularly handsome young man, who seemed to be a celebrity...

So, these people only dared to look and not many dared to actually touch.

Stepping out from the elevator, Chuzheng immediately saw the man sitting at the door of their home. He was looking down at his phone, his entire being shrouded in a low-pressure aura.

Chuzheng hesitated, pondering whether to retreat back into the elevator or to approach him.

What to do if the Good Person Card is angry?

Before Chuzheng could decide, the elevator behind her had already closed and was heading downstairs.

Chuzheng took a deep breath, reasoning that it wasn’t her fault if the Good Person Card wanted to date someone else first! What am I afraid of!

It’s just a phone!

I’ll get him a hundred of them!

The boss isn’t scared!

With her mental prep done, Chuzheng lifted her paw and walked over.

"Yue Ban..." Shang Qi caught sight of Chuzheng from the corner of his eye and immediately looked up, and before Chuzheng could react, Shang Qi had already embraced her.

Chuzheng: "..."

Does he want to suffocate me?

Chuzheng pawed at Shang Qi, let me go!! Going to die... cat here!

"Yue Ban, you scared me." Shang Qi’s voice was muffled, with a hint of a trembling tone.

When he couldn’t find her, Shang Qi almost thought he would never see her again.

That feeling made Shang Qi very uncomfortable, like the most important thing to him had suddenly disappeared and couldn’t be found.

He was never a normal person.

So why dwell on those things...

"I can’t date." Shang Qi buried his face in the soft fur on Chuzheng’s neck: "I’ll only live with you, okay?"

Chuzheng: "..."

Why can’t we date? Am I not worthy?!

[Miss, you are a cat.]

"..." Then whose fault is it?

[...] Slipping away.

Chuzheng patted the man’s head with her paw, let go of me first, I can’t breathe anymore.

Shang Qi felt the weight on his head and slightly lifted his head: "Yue Ban?"

Chuzheng struggled a bit, and Shang Qi seemed to realize that he was holding too tight, loosened his arm slightly, but still kept Chuzheng in his arms.

Chuzheng patted his hair tips with her little paw and then pointed towards the door.

Shang Qi understood her meaning, picked her up, stood up, and opened the door to go inside.

"Promise me, don’t suddenly leave again, okay?" Shang Qi was truly scared. The only thing he could hold onto might suddenly disappear.

Dating... he never even thought about such a thing.

Why he said those things back then, even Shang Qi himself couldn’t explain.

But the words Chuzheng had typed, he couldn’t forget them.

Chuzheng’s eyes turned a bit, then she nodded after a moment.

She hadn’t planned to leave, she just went out to calm down a little.

Shang Qi quickly changed the topic, not mentioning it again. Chuzheng wouldn’t create trouble for herself if the Good Person Card wouldn’t date someone else.

Both sides tacitly left the topic aside.

-

Shang Qi seemed to be afraid of her running away, held onto her all the time, even during meals he didn’t let go.

Chuzheng: "..." I’m like a giant baby.

But at night, as they went to sleep, Shang Qi suddenly changed his approach, left Chuzheng in the room, and went to the study.

Chuzheng didn’t know what was up with him, so she occupied the big bed alone and comfortably fell asleep.

Over the next few days, Shang Qi behaved quite oddly, everything was normal during the day, but come night, he’d avoid her.

Chuzheng observed for several days, feeling offended, does he dislike that I shed fur!

If Shang Qi knew Chuzheng’s thoughts, he’d probably just sigh.

Shang Qi lay in the bathtub, his hand resting on his forehead, surrounded by swirling steamy vapor.

The bathroom door opened by a crack, and then a pure white little kitten quietly squeezed in through the gap.

Shang Qi was deep in thought and didn’t notice at all.

When he finally decided to get out, and put down the hand covering his eyes, he turned his head and was faced with the little kitten standing up, with her little paws resting on the edge of the bathtub.

Startled, Shang Qi scooted further inside, water splashing around.

"When did you come in!" Shang Qi grabbed the towel beside him to cover himself: "Go out first."

Chuzheng swished her tail, but didn’t move.

"Yue Ban, be good." Shang Qi gritted his teeth: "Go out first."

Chuzheng typed on her phone — What are you doing hiding from me at night?

"I’m not hiding from you."

—Not hiding but you don’t come into the bedroom?

"I have to prepare for a tour, need new songs." Shang Qi wasn’t lying, he had indeed received news a couple of days ago.

—At night?

Shang Qi calmly said: "Nighttime inspiration is better."

—Oh.

Chuzheng then released her little paw from the edge of the bathtub, disappearing from Shang Qi’s sight, and leisurely walked out.

Shang Qi turned his head and let out a breath.

He quickly got out of the bathtub, rinsed off quickly, and put on clothes to go out.

Chuzheng was lying at the end of the bed, her tail caught under her little paw.

She seemed to like pressing down on her own tail, if not, she’d flick it back and forth with her two little paws to play.

"I’m going to the study..." Shang Qi shifted his gaze, pointing outside.

The study had reclining chairs, and also sofas, so there was no worry about not having a place to sleep.

Shang Qi had been sleeping in the study these past few days.

After lying down, Shang Qi couldn’t quite fall asleep, and when he finally did, he was soon startled awake, his hand touching something soft and fluffy, and looking down, he saw the little guy curled up beside him, a small bundle.

Shang Qi was stunned there.

When did it come in?

After a nearly five-minute standoff, Shang Qi left the spot for Chuzheng and moved to the living room.

But when he was again startled awake, he found Chuzheng had followed him again...

In the end, Shang Qi had no choice but to bring Chuzheng back to the bedroom.

-

Chuzheng had the underlings keep an eye on He Jin, who had gotten someone to help, allowing him to be released after just a few days inside.

He Jin didn’t return to his previous residence but stayed in a hotel instead.

During this time, Shang Yucheng had come looking for He Jin twice, and the two seemed to have some secret talks.

Other than that, He Jin didn’t make any moves, rarely even leaving the hotel.

That evening, Shang Qi took Chuzheng out to feed the stray cats. On their way back, Chuzheng fell behind.

A person ahead was hurrying along, seeming to be in a rush. Shang Qi looked back at Chuzheng, not noticing them, and was hence bumped by that person.

Chuzheng sensed something was off and quickly went over.

Shang Qi was clutching his hand, which had some blood on it.

Chuzheng turned to look at the people, and one of them was staring back at her for a moment before suddenly turning away, lowering their head, and running off.

Chuzheng looked at Shang Qi’s still bleeding hand, her eyes instantly turning cold.

—There’s something to do, you go back first.

Chuzheng threw this line to Shang Qi and chased after the person from earlier.

Shang Qi: "???"

Of course, Shang Qi couldn’t just let Chuzheng run off like that, ignoring his hand, he hurriedly chased after her, with the bodyguards following close behind upon seeing their boss running.
