“How the hell do you flirt like a Siam boy?” I muttered to myself, pondering Madam Yok’s advice as we walked. “And who the hell is flirting? I’m not flirting!” I scratched my head so hard that Kinn, who was walking beside me, had to turn to look at me in surprise.
“Are you ill?”
“No, no.” I waved my hands. Fuck! I’m not being myself at all! Shit, Porsche, stop being weird!
“Fine, but you’re acting a little strange.” Kinn squinted at me in suspicion.
“Uh… Are you hungry?” I quickly tried to change the subject before Kinn could figure out what the hell was wrong with me.
“What about you? Do you have somewhere picked out?” Kinn asked.
“How hungry are you?”
“Not that hungry,” Kinn said. “I ate this morning.”
“Then let’s see a movie.” I pointed to the movie theater behind Kinn. He followed my finger, frowning.
“You want to watch a movie? All right.” He led the way to see what movies were showing.
“Do you like going to the movies?” I asked, following him. I tilted my face to look at him, and he looked back at me with a bewildered expression.
“Are you okay, Porsche?” He brought the back of his hand up to feel my forehead.
“Mm-hm! I’m fine! So, do you go out to the movies?” I repeated my question to try and figure out whether this was going to be new and exciting for him or not.
“Not really, unless Tay drags me along,” he answered.
So going to the movies was exciting and challenging for sure.
“Oh…”
“I’ve got a lot of work. Between classes and the business, I don’t have the time. Even then, I don’t like crowded places… Here, let’s watch this one.” Kinn pointed to a mafia movie with an average-looking leading actor. But I wasn’t paying attention—my mind was trying to analyze the situation. Is it challenging? He doesn’t like movie theaters because of crowds…so…is it exciting? I’m confused!
Kinn picked a movie with a showtime of fifteen minutes earlier, which meant we should be right on time for all the trailers to be over. We walked in without popcorn or drinks—Kinn said he was too lazy to hold them, and he wanted a lot of space—and I immediately understood what his plan was. When we got to our sofa seat, he leaned back and slowly closed his eyes, paying no attention to the sliver of the leading actor’s face on the screen speaking the opening lines of the movie. Kinn was cut off from the world, with no respect for the protagonist currently running for his life in a narrow alleyway. I couldn’t believe him!
“What is with you?” I grumbled quietly as Kinn softly snored. Our tickets were absurdly expensive, and we weren’t making use of them at all! Kinn only came in here to nap without any distractions. Ugh…
“The main character isn’t just funny-looking, he’s dumb, too.” I mumbled my complaints, trying to focus on the plot, but I kept getting distracted by Kinn. I stole glances at him as countless questions ran through my mind. I really tried to watch the movie for Kinn so he might get his money’s worth, but before I knew it, half the movie had gone by.
As we neared the end, Kinn showed no sign of waking up. I didn’t know if it was because the movie was at its climax or if I was just losing it, but I leaned in toward Kinn and cursed under my breath with all the frustration I had. “Argh! Are you excited at all?”
Kinn’s eyes opened without warning and I immediately pushed away from him.
“Heh, do you want excitement?” he replied. I was horrified, but I tried to act casual.
“I-I was talking about the movie,” I stuttered out.
“Really…? You keep looking at me. What’s with you today?”
“Nothing… I’m just so invested in the story. I wanted someone to talk to, but you were asleep, so I had to talk to you while you were asleep…”
I wiped away the sweat forming on my skin. Although the theater was freezing, I could feel heat flashing through me as Kinn scooted over to hold my waist, one hand sneaking into my shirt to stroke my side.
“What are you doing?” I swatted his hand away and pushed off of him.
“Don’t you want excitement?” Kinn said as he pulled me in. We hadn’t put the armrest of the seat down between us when we sat down, so with one solid tug, Kinn pressed my face into his chest.
“Let go,” I snapped, but Kinn didn’t stop. His hand snaked up my shirt, higher and higher until he was groping and fondling my chest.
“Kinn!”
He sighed shakily and lowered his face to my neck, breathing in deeply.
“There’s security cameras in here!” I said, trying to resist him—but I couldn’t struggle too much.
Although there weren’t many people here and there was no one else in our row of seats, what would happen if an usher came over with a flashlight?
“This is pretty exciting.” Kinn chuckled and bent down to kiss my cheek, his hand still squeezing at me.
“I’m not joking, Kinn!” My voice hardened, making Kinn freeze for a moment. Motherfucker! Whoever was watching the security cameras had to be appalled to see two men shamelessly making out in the theater!
“Fine, fine, but you have to kiss me first.” Kinn looked down at me and puckered his lips, hinting that I had to comply with his order.
“No!”
“Then I’m going to make you.” Kinn nuzzled into my neck once more until I had to shrink back to avoid him.
“Let me go, you bastard!” I hissed. Kinn stopped, but lowered his face toward mine again.
“Kiss me first!” he said before puckering his lips ridiculously, ruining his serious, broody image. He looked so stupid like that.
He tried to lean in again, but this time, I hurriedly stopped him. “No!”
But I eventually relented. “Fine, fine, you bastard!”
Kinn stopped nosing at my neck and smiled, then puckered up again. Fine! I’ll close my eyes and get it over with. Quickly, so nobody sees. Plus, the camera might not catch us…
I took a deep breath and gave him a peck on the lips.
“What was that? I didn’t even feel it.” Kinn looked dissatisfied and went in for another kiss. I didn’t want to argue, so I pressed my lips to his once more. This time he grabbed the nape of my neck, pressing our lips together for a while until I started to struggle. Although he pulled away, he didn’t forget to steal another kiss to my cheek before he set me free with a cheerful smile.
“Shit, Kinn!” I grumbled.
“Now that was exciting.” Kinn laughed, then pretended to be distracted by the movie. I wanted to punch him in the face, but I was afraid that might be too much, so I settled for kicking his shin instead.
I sat there scowling at him. Although it was a little exciting like he said, he was being a blatant pervert. Did he not have any shame at all? People like him… Fuck!
It was kind of exciting and challenging, like Madam Yok said it would be… Wait! Porsche, stop, what the hell are you thinking?!
