Chapter 104

Truly, I was grateful that they all came to visit, but I was so annoyed today that I wanted to be left alone.

“Hellooo,” came a voice. I closed my eyes and sighed, fed up.

“Hello, Mr. Tankhun,” everyone greeted. I turned to give him a casual wai. Is there any poison in this hospital? Even formaldehyde will do—just come end my misery!

“Ah, so you’re eating and slacking off over here, Pete,” Tankhun scolded him, hands on his hips. Pete looked perfectly placid, like he didn’t give a damn about what Tankhun thought.

“Mr. Korn told me to come help watch over Porsche and Mr. Kinn,” he said evenly, still shoveling cake into his mouth.

Pol walked over. “I’ll come by tonight to keep you company,” he said. Arm came over, too, throwing his arm over Pol’s shoulder and smiling that stupid smirk of his.

“You don’t have to come keep him company; he’s got someone to sleep with him already.”

Kill me now! I hate you all! What is wrong with everyone today?! Everyone was looking at me differently because of Kinn!

“What are you talking about? Let me join you!” Tankhun chimed in, stopping the conversation short. I sighed once again as he reached out to massage my arm. “How are you feeling? Does it hurt anywhere?” he asked. I looked at where he was massaging; he was squeezing over a piece of gauze. What do you think, moron?!

“It hurts here,” I said and pointed at his hand. He quickly removed his hand and smiled viciously.

“I brought you something,” he said with a giggle. I looked over to see P’Jess carrying some sort of gift basket into the room. I frowned.

“Tada!” Tankhun exclaimed. I straightened up to take the gift basket from his hands. The huge basket was stuffed to the brim with the familiar-looking chocolates that were scattered in various corners of the house.

“With love and care from Mr. TK! Arm, take a picture so we can upload it to the page!”

I was a little confused, but I looked at the camera anyway, posing with my arms held up to receive the gift basket from Tankhun.

“One, two, three… All done, sir,” Arm said, handing the camera back to Tankhun to check the photo.

“Didn’t put in much effort, huh?” Pete whispered. I grabbed one of the chocolates, tore it open, and took a big bite. I kind of missed them after not having one in so long.

“Do you like it? I arranged the basket myself!” Pete said. He walked over to grab one for himself. Hey! Wasn’t that for me?

“I’m going over to the other room, or else Kinn will miss me,” Tankhun announced as he left with his entourage. Pete, Tem, Jom, and I all sighed with relief. I’d been afraid he was going to stay to stir up trouble.

“Gimme some,” Jom said, coming to grab one of the strange-looking chocolates. He made a disgusted face. “Ugh, these are gross.”

The first time I had them, I felt the same way—but after eating them for a while, I’d developed a taste for them. I grabbed another piece, chewing as I leaned against the headboard.

“You like them?” Pete asked.

“They’re edible,” I said and looked at the wrapping. I was still hung up on these three cartoon characters—they looked so fucking stupid!

“Oh! Good! That’s perfect if you’re—”

“By the way, why do you have these chocolates all over the damn place?” I asked, not letting Pete finish his sentence.

“What, you didn’t know? The family owns the chocolate company that makes these—of course they’re going to be everywhere,” Pete told me. I frowned, surprised. Huh. I’d been wondering why they were everywhere. It was kinda ridiculous that these big, tough mafiosos were making chocolates.

“Look, this face is young master Tankhun,” Pete said, pointing to the boy in the middle of the logo, who sported a wide grin. “And this is Mr. Kim,” he said, noting the boy with his tongue sticking out.

“And this is Kinn?” I pointed to the boy on the left who had an indifferent frown. I unintentionally barked out a laugh. He looked so fucking dumb!

“Hmm,” Pete looked at me suspiciously.

“I knew it! That’s why they taste so disgusting,” I declared as I took another bite. The only thing the chocolate was any good for was staving off hunger.

“Umm, you say it’s disgusting, but you’re still eating it… So your mouth is saying no, but your heart is telling you yes,” Pete said, smirking.

“The hell are you talking about?” I leveled him with a stare. This motherfucker got more annoying by the day.

“Nothing! Finish eating, then go to sleep.” Pete shrugged and went to sit with the rest of my friends. I looked at him, puzzled, then drank some water to wash everything down and got ready to sleep.

I napped on and off the entire day, with Tem and Jom helping take care of my every need. Pete flitted back and forth between Kinn’s room and mine, randomly coming over to annoy me before going back to Kinn’s room. After he got out of school, Chay came to sit and chat with me too.

Once it started to get dark, everyone went their separate ways. Kim came to collect my little brother like before, causing Chay to linger, dragging his feet until I managed to chase him away. I sat by myself for a bit until Pol came by to keep me company. Not long after, a nurse came in with my medicine and checked on me. Then, I fell asleep.

Hmm…
