Chapter 214: The Terrifying Silver Lining.
Once I heard what my daughter said, I couldn’t help doing an experiment asap. If it wasn’t obvious by now, Celia has almost always…punched far above her Status. Originally, our group just attributed this to her luck, or destiny.
However, by accident, Celia must have been using that method of hers, proper usage of resources, this entire time, which is how come she’s never really been in a difficult situation before. Apart from her, everyone else’s Statuses were concrete, and they couldn’t really do much to leverage more power. Besides gaining Levels, I mean.
Guanyu: “A decent theory; but it’d be hard to prove as a fact. That is, unless you go back in time to check. Though, time travel is currently banned, and we aren’t likely ever going to unban it again, considering the dangers associated with that type of Magic.” She said with a giggle.
Vulely: “Well, yeah; I don’t intend to mess with time travel anytime soon… Also, you’ve mentioned before that Celia always felt far more powerful than her Status depicts. Is that not proof enough?” I replied with a raised eyebrow.
Guanyu: “Perhaps; but isn’t it far more entertaining to have mere theories, rather than find the whole truth? All of this is, as everyone likes to call it, forbidden knowledge. So I’d advise against you finding more information of the same genre. What if you find out something even more…special in doing so?” She mused with an oddly serious tone.
Vulely: “( o_o)”
My experiment, which I divulged to Guanyu, was horrifying, something that shouldn’t ever be revealed. Basically, taking the STR Stat as an example, with Celia’s method, 1,000 STR is equivalent to 1,000,000 STR. So, in reality, Celia’s STR Stat is actually 9.99999999800E19 instead of 9,999,999,999, both numbers completely incomprehensible to most, if not all people.
On top of being mind shattering, this also means that Runeth’s overhauled Status menu for the System…is once more flawed. I haven’t asked Celia if she knew about this, and is keeping it a secret, but, I suspect that she does. Thankfully, no one within the family is power hungry, so, even if someone realizes this on their own, no disasters should occur.
Clang!
Vulely: “…”
Guanyu: “Hm?” Was all that she said.
Vulely: “May I ask why you’ve chained me down with your incomprehensible Cultivation Magic, Guanyu?” I asked with a somewhat frustrated tone.
Guanyu: “Forgive me, but you have already asked that question; did you not?” She replied with an innocent head tilt, like the Cultivator hasn’t long since gotten accustomed to modern culture.
No, wait; really, what the fuck is happening? It is far too late in the game for this kind of thing to happen, and I fucking swear to my Goddess (Celia) that I didn’t set up a flag earlier. Guanyu isn’t messing around, but what is the point of restraining me? Twists like this aren’t supposed to occur!!!…
