No one knew what was going to happen. The atmosphere inside the game room was thick and suffocating, the fast, chaotic energy from before turning dead and cold.
Faye wasn’t in her right state of mind. She had Kiara pinned to the floor. Her fingers were clamped like iron weights around the girl’s shoulders, her heavy body pressing down with a strange, brutal force that didn’t belong to a normal omega.
Kiara, on the other hand, was frozen in shock as she stared into the glowing eyes in front of her. Her breathing stopped entirely, her lungs locking up as her spine pressed flat against the ground.
The face of an angry wolf. The sheer power radiating from the girl above her made her heart hammer in a fast, terrified rhythm, the silence in the room stretching out like a tight wire.
Before anything else could happen, someone entered the house.
Kiara finally looked away from Faye and realized Princess had been standing there the whole time.
"Princess, do something! Your girlfriend has lost it!" Kiara shouted. Her voice cracked under the weight of the omega’s grip, her chest heaving as she struggled to pull in a full breath.
Princess remained still. She stood perfectly rigid for a split second, her brain trying to process the wild, white light shining from her girlfriend’s pupils.
"Princess!" Kiara called again,
Princess immediately rushed forward and tried to pull Faye away from Kiara.
But Faye refused to let her go. She bared her teeth, a low, vibration starting deep in her throat as she dug her fingers even deeper into Kiara’s arms.
Her moon-white eyes remained locked on Kiara, as if she were prey.
Princess stepped between them, blocking Faye’s path. She shoved her body into the small space, breaking the omega’s grip and forcing her own frame right in front of Kiara.
"Stop, Faye. What is this?" Princess demanded. Her chest rose and fell with a heavy, cautious breath as she kept her hands raised.
Faye growled at Kiara.
The wolf wasn’t listening to anyone. Her mind was completely trapped in the dark fog of the night before, her heart pumping pure panic through her veins.
Princess had no choice.
"Faye, stop!!"
Princess growled back.
Her eyes glowed blue as she used her Alpha voice on her girlfriend. The deep, dominant rumble vibrated right through the walls of the game room, a heavy, suffocating wave of pure authority that slammed into the omega’s chest.
Immediately, the white glow in Faye’s eyes faded, turning back to yellow.
She retreated into the corner between two arcade machines, curling into herself like a frightened puppy.
A soft, ragged whimper escaped her lips. She tucked her chin tightly into her chest, her small hands coming up to cover her ears as she shook all over.
Princess’s growl had intimidated her. The raw power of the bond had cut straight through her madness, leaving her feeling totally bare and small.
Princess looked at her girlfriend.
From where she stood, Faye looked so small...
So frightened. The omega was shivering violently in the corner, her hair soaked from the water Kiara had poured, her face completely pale.
She slowly walked toward her.
"Babe... are you okay?" Princess asked softly, carefully stepping into Faye’s space. Her voice was incredibly gentle now, all the harshness completely wiped away.
Faye only stared at her with frightened eyes. She blinked rapidly through her tears, her body pressing harder into the corner as if she wanted to disappear through the wall.
"It’s okay... it’s me... it’s me, Princess," she whispered again, moving closer. She dropped down to her knees, her hands reaching out slowly so she wouldn’t startle the wolf.
When Princess finally knelt in front of her, Faye looked at her properly. The blurry fog in her eyes finally cleared out, her breathing slowing down just a fraction.
The moment she recognized her...
She threw herself into Princess’s arms and burst into tears.
"I’m sorry... I’m sorry, Princess... I don’t want to be a bad mother... I know I don’t deserve to be a mother... I really don’t want to be a bad mother..."
She clung tightly to Princess, refusing to let go. The words tumbled out in a fast, hysterical sob, her whole body shaking violently against the alpha’s broad chest.
Princess realized her own words were still haunting Faye. The memory of what she had said before leaving slammed into her ribs like a physical blow, making her own heart ache with a sudden, sharp guilt.
She hadn’t meant any of it.
Yes, she had been angry. She had been completely furious about the Lycan contract and the danger, but she had never wanted to break her girlfriend like this.
Hearing Faye cry like that made Princess’s heart ache. It was a dull, heavy pain that filled her lungs, making it hard to breathe as she wrapped her arms around the omega’s back, pulling her tight.
Her girlfriend had spent the entire night alone.
Princess couldn’t even imagine what had gone through her mind.
Faye continued crying like a little child. Her sobs were loud and broken, her fingers clutching the back of Princess’s shirt so hard.
Even Kiara, now sitting quietly on a chair, couldn’t take her eyes off the couple. She rubbed her neck slowly, her breathing turning steady as she watched the intense emotion filling the room.
Princess eventually lifted Faye into a koala hug, slid her hands under Faye’s thighs, standing up easily with the omega’s weight pressed firmly against her front.
Faye refused to let go. She kept her legs wrapped tightly around Princess’s waist, her face glued to the alpha’s neck as she continued to sniffle quietly.
Even while Princess got her ready...
Even while helping her bathe...
Faye remained wrapped around her like a koala. She wouldn’t let her feet touch the ground, her hands staying locked behind Princess’s neck.
She was incredibly clingy. Her breathing was small and heavy, her nose nuzzling against the alpha’s scent gland to pull in the calming pheromones.
Even while Princess dressed her...
She still refused to let go. She shifted her weight just enough for Princess to slide the clean clothes over her limbs, but her arms never unlinked.
"You’re leaving again?" Kiara asked as Princess carried Faye toward the door.
"Yes. I have to take her to her kids. I’m heading to Eriko’s," Princess replied. She adjusted her grip on Faye’s thighs, her chest rising with a tired breath.
"Can I come too?"
"You should stay here...." Princess said firmly.
As Princess answered, she noticed blood staining both of Kiara’s forearms. The red fluid was seeping through the fabric, creating dark, wet patches against the material.
The iron scent hit Princess’s nose quickly, making her eyes narrow in sudden confusion.
"Is that blood?" Princess asked, pointing at her arms with a tilt of her chin.
"Oh... yeah. I think it’s Faye’s. She must’ve injured herself while attacking me." Kiara said, looking down at her own limbs with a casual shrug.
"I don’t think Faye was injured..." Princess murmured, her eyes shifting to check her girlfriend’s clean hands.
Kiara frowned. The indifference left her face, replaced by a sudden, uneasy curiosity.
She rolled up her sleeves to check...
And froze. Her breath caught sharply in her throat, her posture instantly turning rigid.
The wounds were on her own arms. Four long, deep gashes tore down the skin of her forearms, the flesh raw and bleeding heavily.
Faye’s claws had dug deep into her skin, and she hadn’t even realized it.
"This is... my blood."
"I’m bleeding..." Kiara muttered in disbelief. She stared at the red lines, her fingers trembling slightly as the stinging sensation finally started to register in her brain.
Princess instinctively took a step backward. She carried Faye closer, her alpha instincts flaring up at the sight of the open wounds.
"I’mbleeding... ...and I’m still here...?"
Kiara touched the wounds herself, almost checking whether she was still conscious. She pressed her thumb against the edge of the cut, her face turning slightly pale as her breathing quickened.
"Ki... Kiara... Are you you?" Princess called cautiously, staring at her in confusion.
"Yes. It’s me, Princess." Kiara said, her voice shaking just a bit.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. I’m still me." Kiara insisted, letting out a short, sharp breath through her teeth as she dropped her sleeves back down.
Princess let out a relieved sigh. Her chest slumped with the exit of the trapped air, her heart settling down from the sudden scare.
"That’s good... Now get out of my house." Princess added, her tone turning dry and serious in an instant.
"Huh?" Kiara blinked, completely caught off guard by the sudden eviction notice.
"Look, everything in this house is expensive, and I’m not in the mood to replace anything. So, just in case... I think you should leave." Princess explained... She paused.
"And don’t come back for... maybe three or four days."
Kiara stared at her speechlessly. Her mouth opened slightly, her jaw locking in pure irritation at how petty the request sounded.
Then she quietly picked up her things.
"I’m not going anywhere, Princess. Wherever you’re going, I’m following." Kiara said...
"I’m not taking you anywhere near my kids." Princess barked back, her grip on Faye tightening.
"They’re Alphas." Kiara countered, her chin lifting.
"There are non-Alphas in the house too." Princess reminded her, her tone flat and unyielding.
"Fine. I’ll stay outside. Besides, Eriko lives in the woods anyway." Kiara said....
Princess simply groaned as she walked out of the house.
Kiara followed right behind her...
