Faye wasn’t happy after everything that had happened. The matter involving Martha stayed on her mind.
Even when Princess came to pick her up, it was still bothering her, and Princess noticed how distressed her girlfriend looked. The alpha kept casting quick, worried glances from the steering wheel, sensing the thick wave of anxiety rolling off the omega in the passenger seat.
She even asked if Faye was okay, but Faye simply nodded with a smile.
When they got home, had dinner, and finished bathing, it was finally time for bed.
Mama Princess had a little surprise for dear baby Leonny.
His sleeping space had changed.
Leonny was going to sleep inside the closet.
Princess had spent the entire afternoon creating a cozy little space for him. Since he loved sleeping with one of Mommy’s hoodies, Princess had turned several of Faye’s hoodies into a blanket for the little boy. She created a sleeping nest.
Now he could choose where he wanted to sleep, the nursery or the closet. The little boy blinked sleepily, his tiny hands reaching down to touch the familiar cloth, a soft grunt of satisfaction escaping his lips.
Faye wasn’t happy about her hoodies. They were her favorites and practically all she had.
Princess brushed it off, saying she would buy Faye new ones. It was also her excuse to take her girlfriend shopping on Sunday.
Faye simply frowned as she looked at her baby wrapped up in what used to be her hoodie. She stood entirely frozen, her lips pressed into a thin, dangerous line while Leonny snuggled deeper into the cotton.
Princess gently dragged her out of the closet, thinking her girlfriend looked ready to punch their son from the way she was staring at him.
Princess then tucked her girlfriend into bed, treating her the same way she tucked in the pups before giving her a goodnight kiss on the forehead. She pulled the heavy comforter up to Faye’s chin, patting the mattress gently and leaning down to press her lips against the smooth skin above the omega’s eyebrows.
Faye grumbled. She let out a low huff through her nose, her arms crossing tightly over her chest beneath the thick sheets as she glared up at her pancake.
"Do I look like a child to you? Come on, kiss me the way you kiss your girlfriend," Faye said. Her eyes flashed with a sudden, impatient heat, her posture shifting as she kicked the heavy blanket down slightly.
"Oh, my naughty girl," Princess teased, gently pinching Faye’s cheeks. Her eyes lit up with amusement, a bright blush spreading across her neck as her breath hitched slightly.
She leaned closer and playfully rubbed her nose against Faye’s, teasing her until Faye grew impatient and captured Princess’s lips. The contact was instant and electric, Faye reaching up to wrap her arms tightly around Princess’s neck, pulling the alpha down flat against her chest.
The two continued kissing, slowly getting carried away. The room filled with the sound of their deep, hurried breathing, their hearts hammering in a fast, matching rhythm as the heat inside the bedroom started to skyrocket.
They had just begun pulling each other’s clothes off, their fingers working the fabric in a total rush, when they heard a baby crying.
Leonny was crying from the closet, forcing the girls to stop and attend to him.
Faye tried to soothe the little baby, but he kept crying. She pulled the closet door open and gathered his warm, heavy body into her arms, rocking him back and forth on her hip, but the little guy just kept letting out loud, pathetic sobs. Then he started sucking his thumb and slowly drifted off to sleep, his tiny eyelids fluttering shut as his breathing finally settled into a regular pattern.
Faye gently placed him back in his nest, lowering him onto the mattress with absolute care, millimeter by millimeter, making sure not to make a single sound on the floor.
...and he immediately started crying again. The moment his back touched the sheet, his eyes snapped wide open and he let out a fresh, booming scream that echoed loudly through the bedroom.
The little baby wanted his mommy to carry him all night. He reached his chubby arms high in the air, his face turning bright red as he demanded to be held.
"Why do I feel like he knows what he’s doing?" Princess asked. She stood near the mommy and baby, her hands sliding into her pockets as her eyes narrowed down at the crying pup with a highly suspicious look.
"What? He’s just a baby," Faye replied. She scooped him back up, her chest rising with an exhausted breath as she cradled his head against her shoulder.
"He hardly cries at night. He’s not sleeping in this closet tomorrow. This closet isn’t soundproof like their room." Princess muttered, her shoulders slumping as the romantic energy left her body completely.
"He’s just a baby, Princess." Faye repeated, rocking the boy gently while his tiny thumb slipped back between his lips.
"Okay... good night."
Princess turn around, headed toward the door.
"Hello, young lady. Don’t even think about leaving me here alone," Faye called after her. She shot a sharp glare toward the alpha’s back, her grip tightening on the sleeping baby.
"I have school tomorrow. I need sleep," Princess replied. She paused in the doorway, her eyes looking back over her shoulder with a tired, desperate expression.
"So I’m the one who doesn’t have school tomorrow, huh? Stay with me a little longer... please." Faye said, her voice dropping into a soft, pleading whisper that instantly melted the alpha’s resolve.
Princess had no choice but to stay with her girlfriend. She let out a long, defeated sigh through her nose, her chest sinking as she walked back to them. Even though she couldn’t shake the feeling that Leonny had somehow interrupted them at the perfect moment, she reminded herself that he was only a baby. It was impossible for a toddler to calculate that kind of timing.
Princess lay down on the floor, stretching her legs out across the cool ground while Faye started breastfeeding the little one until he settled down.
