Noah’s POV
It’s my body that was hurt, it was just a pinprick but still...
Thud.
Another body just hit the floor because of me, and instead of screaming, I just stare blankly at Elias’s uncaring face.
I feel a slow build up of panic inside of me, but every potential reaction is killed as the door opens and a man walks in.
The man’s eyes roams the room, scans the woman’s corpse, skims over my half naked body and lands on Elias.
He tilts his head and I instantly recognize him by his long blonde hair, his elegant posture and the few streaks of grey in his hair.
"Mom" Elias says in a tone I’ve never heard before, and the man, the famous omega male mother of the three Deus brothers lets out a tired sigh.
"Eli, what did I say about murdering my employees?" he asks in a soft but commanding tone and Elias shoves his hands into his pockets.
"She crossed my line" he says.
"Invalid excuse. I am too tired of cleaning up bodies and covering tracks" the older man snaps at his son and Elias’s shoulders drop.
How is he not phased by this? Is this a family norms? Do they just kill people and cover it up? Is it okay to breathe this hard? Is it over for my chest to feel this tight?
"Now look, you’ll give your husband-to-be a heart attack even before you slip the ring on to his finger" Siren Deus says before finally looking at me.
He looks like the opposite of his son, long blonde long hair, pale blue eyes, lighter skin...but just like his son, his cold eyes scan my body.
With his attention on me, I’m suddenly hyper-aware of how out of breath I’m becoming. My throat is closing up and I’m on the verge of another panic attack.
"Breathe, beautiful child" Siren is now by my side. His hands are in my shoulders and his brows are pinched together as he holds my face.
He’s a bit taller than me, a lot older than me, and a lot more intimidating than his son even with his brighter features.
Devils. All of them.
"Your wedding is in two hours, child. You will read your vows, you will wear your ring, and you will do everything you have to do. Do you understand?" he asks me and I nod.
Saying no right now will be the most stupid thing I would ever do, especially now that I’ve seen how easy it if for them to snuff out a person’s life.
The maid’s dead body is still lying on the floor with the crystal between her brows. Her mouth is still open in a surprised scream that never made it out, and her eyes are staring at Elias’s shoes as her blood flows out in their direction.
I can’t end like that...I need to be alive to save Zane and what’s left of Winslow.
Siren tsks to call me back to the room but I’m too far gone.
"Get out of the room, Eli" Siren commands without looking at his son.
"Yes, mom" he responds.
My eyes are focused on the dead woman, but when Elias’s leaves, I am suddenly aware of my environment. It’s like he has a power over my senses and without him, everything suddenly hits me in the gut.
Two people were murdered because of me and their killer is going to be my husband.
"Oh goddess" I whimper as I feel the bile climbing up my throat.
"Oh my..." I slap my hands over my mouth to hold back the retching noise but I fail, I’m really going to be sick.
"There, there" Siren murmurs as he guides me into the bathroom.
I pant and shake as leads me and helps me bend over the toilet bowl to empty my already empty stomach.
The older omega rubs my back as I throw up. I’m heaving and choking on nothing but the smells of metallic of blood and rotten fear.
The other maid is behind us with her hands still on her mouth, she looks like she would never have a good sleep after what she just witnessed, and I don’t blame her...I don’t think I will ever sleep well too.
"There you are. This is your first step to being strong" Siren says when I’m done being sick and pulls me up.
My mouth tastes like stomach acid and rubbish.
The man tucks my hair behind my ear, lifting me and resting me against his legs before flushing the toilet.
Numb...I’m feeling so...numb.
"Hold yourself up" he says to me and I just stay like that on his legs before I’m moved to rest my back against the cold tiled wall.
"Open" he instructs and I open.
My senses are gone again but I feel him brushing my mouth for me. Giving me cues and instructions to follow: ’spit’, ’open’, ’swish’.
"You’ll never survive if you don’t straighten your spine, omegas are made with strong spine" Siren says and pulls me up with the help of the second maid.
’Straighten my spine...I did that but all three of your sons walked all over me like I’m a walking board’ I answer in my head.
The man takes me back to the room. He undresses me completely and I don’t flinch, I let him undress me and then he dresses me in my wedding clothes.
This is not the wedding I dreamt of...I wanted cherry blossoms decorations, pink flowers and happy smiles.
"Lift your head" he says and I lift my head.
"Beautiful" he murmurs and apply lips gloss on my lips, "you look less dead like this. Keep it in mind that this is your wedding, you’ll only ever have it once, so make the best of it" Siren says.
And in two hours...within two hours I’m wearing the ring of the man that ruined my entire life.
The sun is setting in front of us. There are people cheering as if they don’t know about my kidnap or about the Deus family’s terrorism.
"Keep your eyes on me, beautiful" Elias says and I lift my eyes to his face.
"Everyone is watching you. Welcome to Gotteigen, this your new home, husband" Elias says, lifting my hand for everyone in the crowd to see.
They’re still cheering out of their minds while my mind is tearing apart with a million thoughts and questions...
He called me husband...does that mean he gets to have my first time?
