Hi folks! First of all thanks a lot for all your support :) After more then 8 months of preparation Hexforged is finally launching, Right now! Super excited for the new fic since I believe my wring has gone up another level due to what I learned from various guides, my own experience, and most importantly your feedback. I’m more of a pantser but I’ve learned to outline and it does wonders to the overall quality. I still change things around and go with what feels right atm, but knowing what exactly would happen in which chapter helps a lot in setting up plots and some interesting foreshadowing elements.
Another change is onomatopoeia. I believe I may have been using it a bit too much. It was a style choice and what I felt comfortable with while writing TR and Void, but in hexforged I’ve narrowed it down to pretty much nothing since the chapters are longer (~2.5k words).
As for the release schedule, nothing's changing in we are void. I'm still going with MWF. On hexforged it sort of depends on rs climb but this time the plan is to have daily uploads when I'm on main rs. Also getting the patreon on track with all advandced chapters on both fics for the 10$ tier. ie i'm not making multiple tiers, whatever i can offer will be on the same 10$ one, . ATM it's 10+ adandced chapter for both fics with the usual pdf epub (Hexforged quota met, void will get up in ~next 1-2 days since i'm finally free!)

I forgot the exact words but the main idea was to write what you love/do. I believe this makes the worldbuilding more in depth and more importantly, organic. I’m a biotech engineer and a professor so I spend a good few hours of my day in lab. Thus, when I sit down to write a scene that involves something like DNA extraction or other stuff(no spoilers lol), I don’t have to look it up on google and integrate it into writing.

I like to ground my power systems with hard science, and it’s the same here. To craft this world I’ve taken inspiration from Aristotle’s and theories regarding Luminiferous Ether. It’s such a fascinating thing because what we use in fantasy right now might’ve been the perceived reality for people who lived during that era.
So with these I had a general idea. A protagonist who is doing something related to genes, and a world setting focusing on Ether. Now, the most important part: Conflict. What can I do to make an actual story out of it? The answer was. You’ll find out how this all comes together in the first few chapters.
Another thing I tried out this time was to give the world a brief time to breathe before it gets well, wrecked (1-2 chaps). I know it, You know it (coz I just told you, and don’t worry about spoilers since it’s the first line of ch 1), but the characters don’t which makes this really fun.
Also I believe apocalypse has somewhat lost the shock and awe factor it had about 5 years ago. Like as a reader after reading hundred stories in this genre I don’t have the same reaction I used to have. Like yeah bro its Tuesday instead of OMFG Apocalypse!!! Still pretty awesome though.
