As a completed BL work, this novel is an exercise in brevity. Its greatest strength lies in its economy; it manages to establish a conflict of memory loss and resentment and resolve it within a very tight chapter count. For a reader with limited time, the efficiency of the narrative is appealing. However, the extreme shortness is also its primary flaw. With only eight chapters to cover the emotional trajectory of both Kerilis and Larry, the character development feels superficial. The shift from the shou's initial anger to a state of being most beloved happens too quickly to feel fully earned, leaving the emotional stakes feeling slightly underdeveloped. While it functions as a sweet, self-contained piece of fiction, it lacks the narrative weight required to leave a lasting impression. It is a lightweight read that prioritizes a happy ending over complex character exploration.
