Synopsis

Within a medical university teeming with ambitious students and eccentric faculty, Hua Yufeng finds himself inexplicably attending an economics course. The lecturer, Huang Jixian, is a man of many titles—an outstanding entrepreneur and a special professor—yet Hua views him as nothing more than a shameless fraud utilizing his status for personal gain. This friction sparks a volatile game of cat and mouse, where Hua attempts to ensnare the professor in a meticulously planned trap. However, the plan backfires when it becomes clear that Huang is less interested in academic rivalry and more focused on pursuing Hua romantically. The story moves swiftly from sharp-tongued antagonism to a complicated intimacy, eventually leading to a painful separation. This sequence forces Hua to confront the void left by Huang's absence. The writing is brisk and spirited, catering to those who appreciate rapid-fire romantic tension, though the abrupt escalation might alienate those preferring a more gradual emotional build.

This work is an incredibly concise piece of fiction, reaching its conclusion in only eight chapters. The clearest strength is the immediate sparks flying between the protagonists; the chemistry is palpable, and the shift from hostility to affection is handled with a certain punchy energy. That said, the extreme brevity is a significant drawback. Because the plot covers a wide emotional range—from hatred to love and then to the pain of parting—the progression feels hurried. There is simply not enough room to explore the supporting cast or the university environment in any meaningful way. Considering the very low visibility and the minimal length, the experience feels more like a sketch than a fully realized novel. It offers a quick, satisfying emotional loop, but it lacks the narrative weight and developmental patience required to leave a lasting impact on the reader.
