Synopsis
Qin Fen is a spirited student known for his gossip and cheer, though his romantic life is currently in shambles following a failed crush. His world shifts when he crosses paths with Yu Jin, a peer shrouded in unsettling rumors. After a frightening midnight encounter in the woods where Yu Jin displays strange behavior, the two are drawn into an unexpected interaction. This novel reads like a classic sunshine-meets-grumpy trope with a hint of gothic mystery, reminiscent of short urban supernatural romances. It is ideal for readers who appreciate quick, atmospheric vignettes and the tension of misunderstood characters. However, those looking for complex plotting or long-form narratives should skip this. The pacing is abrupt, reflecting its minimal length, but it succeeds in creating an immediate, eerie mood.

Editorial Review
From an editorial standpoint, this work is more of a character sketch than a fully realized novel. Its greatest strength lies in the immediate contrast established between the bubbly Qin Fen and the enigmatic Yu Jin, creating an intriguing dynamic in a very short span. However, the brevity is a severe detriment. With only two chapters marked as completed, there is no room for genuine character growth or plot resolution. The narrative stops just as the central conflict begins to breathe. Given the lack of engagement signals and the minimal content, it fails to provide a satisfying reading experience. It functions as a teaser for a story that never truly starts, leaving the reader wanting a development that simply is not there.
