The premise is evocative and suggests a deep emotional core. However, the primary issue is the scale. With only three chapters, the completed status feels premature; it functions more as a literary sketch or a prologue than a comprehensive novel. While the framing device is strong, there is simply not enough room to breathe life into the mentioned rebellion or the relationship between the characters. The BL elements are likely underdeveloped given the length. It is a poignant piece of flash fiction, but as a library entry, it lacks the substance required for a satisfying narrative arc.
