A teasing smile spread across Zachary’s face.
"You know," he said, "you might need a few more lessons."
She blinked up at him in confusion. "Lessons?"
"Breathing slowly and regularly without interrupting the kissing." He said.
Her eyes grew even wider before she said, "I was breathing!"
"Barely."
"I was doing perfectly fine."
"My wife..."
"What?"
"You looked like you were negotiating with your lungs."
She turned her gaze away from him, trying not to laugh. "I blame you."
"Oh? Somehow this is my fault?"
"Completely."
He chuckled softly, lightly touching her chin and guiding her gaze back to him so he could read her expression.
"I’ll accept full responsibility," he said with a satisfied grin. "I’ll even volunteer to help you practice."
She gave him an exaggerated look.
He leaned down once more, resting his forehead gently against hers while holding her gaze.
"Alright, my wife," Zachary said with a playful smile. "I think we need to do something about this dress."
Sienna’s cheeks immediately turned bright red again.
Not long after, there were no more barriers between them. Zachary deftly helped her undress before removing his own trousers.
Zachary’s eyes lingered on Sienna as though he were trying to memorize every part of her.
It was not the first time he had seen her naked, but tonight felt completely different. Before, he had always forced himself to look away, reminding himself to respect the promise he had made to wait until her wounds healed. He had buried every desire and every impulse, convincing himself that loving her also meant having patience.
Tonight, there was nothing left holding either of them back.
Sienna felt the warmth of his gaze and smiled shyly despite the blush covering her face.
"Zach, if you keep staring at me like that," she said softly, trying to hide her embarrassment with a playful smile, "I might fall asleep before you do anything—"
"My wife," Zachary said with a quiet laugh, gently interrupting her. "I’m impressed. You’re not nearly as shy as you used to be."
Before she could answer, he leaned down and captured her lips in another tender kiss.
The kiss was slow and unhurried, carrying all the longing they had kept hidden. Every gentle touch, every lingering embrace, and every smile they exchanged spoke louder than words.
When the kiss ended, Zachary brushed his lips across her cheek before trailing them to her jaw and then to her neck, making her giggle softly beneath him.
The sound warmed his heart. He lifted his head just enough to admire her flushed face.
"No worries," he whispered against her skin. "I won’t let my beautiful wife fall asleep just yet."
His gentle affection made Sienna smile even wider. She reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer until their foreheads rested together.
"I love you," she whispered.
Those three words made his heart swell.
"I love you too," he replied without hesitation. "More than you’ll ever know."
Their eyes met once more before they shared another lingering kiss.
The room gradually fell silent as they surrendered themselves completely to one another, no longer held back by hesitation or uncertainty as they became one.
Every embrace, every moan, every pain carried the love they had built through countless days of patience, trust, and quiet devotion.
Their first night together as husband and wife was not driven solely by passion. It was filled with gentle reassurance, whispered promises, laughter that eased their nervousness, and the certainty that they had finally reached this moment together.
Outside, the night stretched on unnoticed while time quietly slipped away.
By the time everything settled, both of them were completely exhausted.
The bedroom looked as though a small storm had passed through it. Clothes were scattered across the floor, pillows had been pushed out of place, and the blankets were hopelessly tangled around the bed. Neither of them had noticed the growing mess as they made love wildly.
Sienna lay quietly against Zachary, too tired to move another muscle. Her breathing had finally become steady again, but she couldn’t find the strength to even sit up.
She let out a sleepy laugh.
"I don’t think I can move."
Zachary chuckled, brushing a few loose strands of hair away from her face.
"I noticed."
Sienna gazed at him with weary eyes. She couldn’t recall how many times their lovemaking had left her so drained. "This is your fault..."
"Well, my wife, I will happily take the blame."
Her lips curved into a weak smile before she rested her head against his chest again.
After letting her rest for several minutes, Zachary carefully sat up and slipped one arm beneath her shoulders while the other supported her legs.
"What are you doing?" she murmured sleepily.
"Taking care of my wife."
Without waiting for another protest, he lifted her into his arms.
Sienna instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head against his shoulder, allowing herself to be carried.
When they reached the bathroom, Zachary prepared a warm bath before gently helping her into the tub. Throughout it all, he remained patient and attentive, making sure she was comfortable. He carefully washed her hair, cleaned away the traces of their long night together, and smiled whenever she looked at him with sleepy, embarrassed eyes.
"You know," she mumbled, barely keeping her eyes open, "you’re spoiling me."
"I plan to keep doing that for the rest of our lives."
Her tired smile was all the answer he needed.
Once they were both clean, Zachary wrapped her in a soft towel, helped her into a fresh, comfortable nightgown, and dried her hair.
When they returned to the bedroom, they found it exactly as they had left it.
Sienna looked at the tangled blankets and pillows before letting out another quiet laugh.
"I don’t think either of us has the energy to clean this mess..."
"You are right, let’s sleep in the other room..."
"Hmm..."
Instead of worrying about the mess, Zachary carried her down the hallway to one of the guest bedrooms.
The fresh room felt calm and inviting. He gently laid her on the neatly made bed before climbing in beside her.
The moment he slipped under the blanket, Sienna moved closer without thinking. She rested her head on his chest while he wrapped his arms securely around her.
Neither of them spoke for a while.
The silence between them was peaceful, filled with comfort rather than awkwardness.
Sienna looked toward the window just as the first soft rays of sunlight appeared above the horizon, painting the sky with gentle shades of gold and pink.
"We stayed up all night," she whispered with a sleepy smile.
"We did."
"You almost drained my energy, Zach..."
Zachary kissed the top of her head before holding her a little tighter.
"I’m sorry, my dear wife. You can sleep and rest now." He whispered lovingly.
"Hmm..." She no longer had the energy to answer him.
A contented smile spread across Sienna’s face as she closed her eyes. Safe in his embrace, she listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat until sleep finally claimed her.
Not long afterward, Zachary followed, still holding his wife close as the morning sun quietly welcomed the beginning of a new day and the next Chapter of their life together.
